It's because the government is using the moon to block the sun's natural funk rays.

In answer to the title of the thread...What does this photo suggest? Some may know exactly what it is, but others not. Ideas?

Is it from WWII?

If it's not, then the guy in the foreground makes some disturbing wardrobe choices...

Is what the photo is. To those in the photograph; a normal everyday working day..

Quote
Photographs from SS soldiers at Aushwitz, donated earlier this year to the United States Holocaust Museum, offer a rare view of the notorious concentration camp before its liberation in 1945. Taken in the summer and fall of 1944, during which the gas chambers were operating at maximum efficiency, the photographs show SS officers relaxing and socializing during their last months before the evacuation of the camp.
Although his name does not appear in the album, dates and decorations indicate that it was created by SS-Obersturmführer Karl Höcker, the adjutant to the commandant of Auschwitz, SS-Sturmbannführer Richard Baer.
At left, Höcker and SS women relax on lounge chairs on a deck in Solahutte. The original caption reads: "On the terrace of the hut."

I am unable to fathom, unable to begin to grasp even the faintest shadow of understanding as to how people can be so evil.  How do you dress for your day at a concentration camp?  How do you wander in, exchange pleasantries, and then get down to the business of torturing and murdering human beings.  Did these monsters not even look into the eyes of the men, women, and children they destroyed?

I know this subject has suddenly gotten very dark, but I am left nearly speechless at the human capacity for atrocity.

We had a case back in my law enforcement days (our only case that resulted in a death row sentencing) in which the murderer killed an old couple's dog, sexually assaulted the wife while forcing the husband to watch, and then killed them both, stabbing one of them 27 times.  There were 27 entrance/exit wounds, 27 deep marks in the wooden floor beneath the body.  How much rage do you have to have inside of you to perpetrate such a thing?

That's the haunting incongruity of the photo; That those in the photo are, what appears to be sunbathing in warm sunshine, having a break from the unimaginable horror that they inflict during their day. I was put onto it a while ago by someone who has been to Auschwitz: A school history teacher who has taken two 17 year old history students each year for the last three or so..and when they come back they take an assembly for the rest of their year.

Now think about hearing on a near daily basis that you are a racist Nazi because you believe in a small limited government, low taxes, and don't believe addicting folks to government handouts is good policy.   And hearing your policy proposals compared to Hitler.

Shame on the D's that have been putting that garbage out there - and diminishing the true nature of Hitler and the Nazis by doing so - for the past about 35 years or so.

And I'm supposed to take these people seriously, and consider voting for one at some point?  Don't think so.

I think it was fun for the Ds to constantly trash the R's like this - until we started fighting back.  Now we hear about how terrible the low level of discourse is.   Yeah, no kidding.

Here are just a few examples.  Bush I talked about a 'kindler gentler' nation.  He was talking about this very thing.  He got nowhere with the DC Ds with it and was mocked for it.  He has spoken since about refraining from criticizing successor presidents, and hasn't.  He even works with Clinton on issues like health and literacy in the third world

Robert Dole told Clinton straight up he would not be running on all the scandals that piled up during Clintons first term, that he wanted the campaigns to be on the issues.  Can you imagine a D saying and doing that?

Bush II came to Washington and like his father tried to reach out.  He was proud of working well with the other party a gov in Texas and wanted to change the culture in DC to something similar.  They practically spit in his face.  Yet he too refrains from criticizing his successor saying that a president needs to not have ex-Presidents looking over their shoulder.  Same with Reagan when he left office.  It would be nice if Carter and Clinton joined he Bushes in this.

When the Senate was 50-50, with VP Chaney able to cat a tie breaking vote, instead of telling the Ds to kiss off, the Rs shared the chairmanships with them for as long as the Senate was split evenly.  Can you imagine Harry Reid doing that?

Yes the sniping has gone both ways, and always has.  But you cannot say it's been equal from about 1982-2008 (starting with the deep hate of Reagan).  It was not even been close.  Finally, with the election of a very Leftist, very radical Obama, people on the right decided enough was enough.  NOW it's more equal.

The only way it ends is if the people that started it decide it's no longer to their advantage.

Paperboy, I do not doubt that you sincerely believe you are correct in your above post.  I'm certain that you offered an honest assessment of your perspective.  But here's my takeaway from your words:

Liberals and only liberals call their political opponents Nazi's.

Conservatives over and over have tried to reach out and be honest only to be thwarted and insulted by Democrats.

Both sides do it (but liberals do it waaaaaaay more often).

In my posts I routinely provide examples of idiocy on both sides.  I seldom see this from either you or Sardondi (whose posts I always eagerly read though we often disagree on matters political).  I imagine you might both say, "Why should I give you ammunition?"

I don't know if you'll take the trouble to do this, but please look up "Obama as Hitler" images.  Using Bing, I found dozens.  I also found dozens when looking up "Bush as Hitler."

Both sides do it.  I see ZERO evidence that one side does it more than the other.  As I've said before, we are all subject to our own filters and biases and prejudices.  For instance, when I hear someone complain about "the liberal media", I immediately think of my own experiences turning the dial of AM radio where I hear half a dozen rightwing ranters.  I think of FOX News.

I'm guessing neither of us will convince the other of much.

Here's at least one thing that's pretty cool.  We live in America.  We can say whatever the hell we want on this sort of forum about our political perspectives.  There are a bunch of countries in this world where we'd be thrown into a gulag for doing as much.

Still, for your consideration:

“next to of course god america i
love you land of the pilgrims’ and so forth oh
say can you see by the dawn’s early my
country tis of centuries come and go
and are no more what of it we should worry
in every language even deafanddumb
thy sons acclaim your glorious name by gorry
by jingo by gee by gosh by gum
why talk of beauty what could be more beaut-
iful than these heroic happy dead
who rushed like lions to the roaring slaughter
they did not stop to think they died instead
then shall the voice of liberty be mute?”

He spoke. And drank rapidly a glass of water

Voting for D's or R's is a waste of time if you still haven't figured out that they are one party(party of greed) their to fool you in thinking you have a choice. It's like choosing Coke or Pepsi does it really make a difference? Soda is soda no matter how you look at it. So once you see this you understand it's just their to split the people that way the elite can take advantage. So they next time you find your self getting mad at a D or a R because the Media tells you to; remember that they are trying to fool you!!1

I can actually answer with a NO to the initial question. However, because I am a hothead (when stepping in to defend a stranger) I tend to take things way to far thus inviting trouble to myself. If I have one redeeming quality it is that I hate bullies and am willing to put myself in harms way for an underdog.

I did not watch the video posted because I am already far to desensitized to disturbing content and like Captain Kirk, I want my pain! I need my pain! it makes me who I am!
