Do you have any stories and/or personal experiences concerning this topic?
I’ll start out with an experience a friend (who is a photographer) and I (who helps lug their equipment about) had.
After watching the movie "The Village" (M.Night Shyamalan) we thought it might be fun to find the location where it was filmed and see if any of the buildings remained and photograph them.
It had been filmed somewhere in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. I had been there before, to the Brandywine River Museum and the battlefield.
Anyway, I attempted to find the exact location via the internet, but found only a vague description concerning the street sign at the road where it was located had been removed, but it was next to a field and briefly described the area.
So off we went.
After driving around a bit (it is a lovely area) we found what we believed to be the road and proceeded down it.
It was a very narrow country road.
We noticed the odd way the trees grew severely bent, on an angle away from the road and commented to one another about it. The only person we saw was a woman who was retrieving mail from her box, and sort of glared at us rather suspiciously as we passed.
We approached a drive, rather more of a wide dirt road that had some large boulders and a chain across, blocking access.
Having nowhere to actually park and besides it having a ‘No Trespassing’ sign on it, as did most of the property along the road, we just drove by, disappointed because that was most likely the road leading to the site, although from the road no buildings could be seen. They may have all been dismantled, anyway.
As we continued down the road we noticed a black SUV with dark tinted windshield, had appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, following behind us. We slowed down, assuming it wanted to pass, but it slowed down as well and continued to follow until we saw a cross road ahead, where this road ended.
The SUV apparently had turned off, as it was gone, and at the end of the road sat a police car.
The officer, just sitting there in his patrol car, watching us.
We thought it a bit odd, and left the area thinking no more about it, only later to find out that what we had discovered, naively, was the infamous Cossart Road (also known as Devil’s Road.)
I had never heard of it before until stumbling across it while reading the book ‘Weird Pennsylvania’ (by the publishers of ‘Weird N.J’ magazine.) Noticing a section concerning Chadds Ford, I started reading about this ‘Cossart Road’ and was taken aback, that was where my friend and I were!!!!
We hadn’t known it at the time, but it all fit together! Pretty creepy! We were completely unaware.
Now I understand what others have said about how really sinister and just plain foreboding it is!

One amazing thing is that you found this location by accident when others (according to the website you referenced) search and search for it.

The whole thing is wonderfully creepy. I saw the pic of those trees; that would give me shivers even if I didn't know there was weird energy in the area.

And who is in the black SUV that others have referenced? It doesn't seem like it'd be local cops, both because they'd be unlikely to spend the money and also because you saw a regular cop.

I love stories like this.

I had never heard of Cossart Road until I read of it in the book, and what a shock! We were so oblivious.
Now I wonder if the woman retrieving her mail might not have alerted someone. It was strange, the black SUV and then the cop as well.
What are they protecting/hiding, or is it merely they do not want 'visitors'?  I think it is still a public road.

well that article said that people were coming around making a ruckus and spray painting 666 n shit on the trees... if they dont recognize the car they probly think its just more "looky-lous."

http://www.weirdus.com/states/ is a very interesting site.  If Noory or PremRat had any sense, they could use something such as this as a source for many fascinating subjects to cover for a number of C2C shows.  I believe they may have had one of the site's folks on once to discuss some things, but that was it.  Somebody like Art could tap into something such as this and weave an untold number of fascinating shows.

The Claw Foot People, Melonheads, The Moonville Tunnel..... Art could have turned any of these subjects into a classic show.  Noory and company?  Forget it.  I'm sorry, but they just don't "get it" AT ALL.

I checked the site for WA state.  I live just down the street from Western State Mental Hospital.  It's a pretty intimidating place, just to drive by. It housed everyone from actress Francis Farmer to Ted Bundy and continues to house patients/inmates. I would love to do some urban exploring in there.  I've been through the park that the guy is talking about, but I've never seen the ruins he's referring to.  I'll have to head back over there and poke around and see if I somehow missed them.

I've visited some of the places listed in N.J. and Pa.  Apparently, Jersey has a wealth of weirdness   That is what spurred the creation of Weird US.  Mark and Mark originally started Weird NJ and it just went from there.
I haven't gone to any recently.  Some of the places are not good to go to alone.  Some are just scary!  Not so much because
of the site or legend, but because of those living there.  Like the alive (as opposed to the dead, who can't hurt you...or so I've been told...well, unless they're zombies or vampires and the like
