        Thanks for posting that Dreamland clip, that was cool to hear, but it brought back a painful memory--the grating shrill of Linda Moulton Howe's voice. Oh god...Anyone remember the old days when as she'd play back a recording of one of her "interviews" with some guy who had totally planted asparagus in his front garden you could hear the grinding whine of her tape recorder's gears? Definitely the best part of her interviews.

What I don't understand is why that Bigfoot carried around an amp with reverb.  It sounds like a digital reverb set on "Drainpipe" or some such setting.

I truly enjoy exploring paranormal topics, but I always bring a healthy dose of scientific skepticism to the table.  I've mentioned before on this forum that I did crime scene work for a time, so perhaps that habit of looking for real, empirical evidence colors my attitude.

I listened to the soundbyte, imagining I'd hear a distinctly human cadence and quality to the sound.  I will confess that the sound is intriguing.  It strikes me as somewhat higher in pitch than I'd have supposed a Yeti-type creature might produce.  Perhaps it was a female?  Anyway, interesting stuff....

A great point that was made is that if this DNA was due to interbreeding, it should show relation to the humans that were in the Americas pre-"discovery" but it was from Europe/Africa.




Basically what I see as happened is Ketchum had to have seen all the red flags but because of the community she got involved with, because of the publicity, etc she kept going for whatever reason. I wonder why she even took this job. Maybe they thought it would increase business.

Now, it goes without saying she's 10 times the interviewer George is, and at least lends a simulacrum of legitimacy to her research efforts. But that voice....

Let's keep everything about this circus the same as far as events, chronology, announcements, findings (or lack) and so on are concerned. But instead of the subject being Bigfoot, let's say that Ketcham asserted that her DNA sample might conclusively prove that, say, Obama was not a US citizen (okay, how in the world DNA evidence would do this I have no idea. But this exercise is about the process and what has been said and done, so a little leeway is necessary.)

No one in the world would believe any of this for a moment. No one who is truly disinterested could possibly have any confidence in anything other than an an outright negative finding n the DNA sample. Ketcham's behavior and actions throughout this whole farce have been antithetical to the principle's of legitimate scientific investigative enquiry. Instead, her actions most resemble that of someone running a scam, such as a pyramid scheme which must of necessity one day collapse, but which the creator keeps running as long as she can because it is in his or her financial or other interests to do so.
