I've been undecided on avatars lately...but the current one is NOT a picture of me and the missus.
It's Rosalynn Carter meeting John Wayne Gacy in May, 1978.

It's Rosalynn Carter meeting John Wayne Gacy in May, 1978. Within 7 months he'd be famous, too. Not long before this picture was snapped she was photographed with Reverend Jim Jones...who'd also become quite famous in late '78 albeit posthumously.
Gacy in this picture looks like 80% of the baseball and hockey coaches of my childhood. Looks like it was snapped at one of those godammned end of season banquets.
Thats a great theme for avatars right there.  Pics of serial killers in general but with famous people even better.

I wanna see a pic of Jim Jones with the kool aid man.

Ha.  I didn't recognize either "celebrity" and thought it might be a picture of your parents.

Look out, moon.

A lot of people misunderstand my avatar, confusing it with a popular band logo.  Recently, in a fine dining establishment of the 24hr variety, I encountered a fellow gabhead who somehow recognized me by the manner in which I was creating art from poured salt (engraving frowning smiley faces therein. Talk about an oxymoron!)

"Hey, Cam.  Love your, avatar, dude.  More cowbell!"

If only he knew.

While I like several songs by B.Ö.C., it has nothing to do with my choice of visual representation in this forum.

I lifted this symbol from a hospitality services supplier. This company sells products designed to prevent thefts of hotel and motel hangers, which is a serious problem in our country, which by the way, NEITHER presidential candidate is willing to bring up in their rhetoric due to fear of dematerializing.

The company specializes in a sturdy lockable hook that remains on the coat rack pole.  While the layperson or CEO may refer to such security hangers as "T" or "Ball" hangers -  indicative of the stem's appearance while detached - we in the industry call them "headless hookers," or more accurately, "dismembered headless hookers."

Their logo, while simplistic, indicates the detachable nature of their best selling security hangers.

It was a simple matter of cropping the logo from a well known supplier - then, for aesthetic reasons, I inverted the logo. It was similar to inverting a crucifix during a Black Sabbath concert but much less philosophically motivated. (oh, that does bring back memories of the Black Sabbath/Blue Öyster Cult double bill.... the infamous "Black and Blue" tour.)

Succinctly stated, my avatar is of an inverted dismembered headless hooker. Make of that what you will, my fellow chowder heads.

So if you see me drunk and melancholy in Denny's at 2:30 AM, creating hieroglyphics in mounds of poured table salt while waiting for my Grand Slam to land, do me a favor.  Don't mention my avatar.

I have issues.

If you want to show you care in some sort of forum camaraderie, pay for my meal. It beats all hell out of "More cowbell!"

Here then, is the original company logo:

If you stare at the cover of BOC's "Tyranny and Mutation"....you may see God. Or not.

But it's undeniable that the cover of their "Mirrors" album from '79, has sperm cells masquerading as clouds.

As for my latest foolish avatar. That's a "Match Game" backdrop circa '83. Which eerily resembles a Condefederate flag. It's not Willie and Lester performing for a clavern-I don't think. They may be too high brow for the Invisble Knights.

A mirror is a negative space with a frame. It's a place for your face. It reveals, what the rest of us see. It conceals, what you'd like it to be. Pretty girls can't walk away.

Liked your last avatar, "Don't mess with God's America." "We're Earthlings, let's blow up Earth things."

CS Lewis Jr is always in the mix. He may return soon. Hail Odenkirk.

Bonus points for knowing lyrics to the title track of probably my favorite BOC album. I'm in the minority there.

A favorite here as well, though picking one favorite BOC album is impossible. Thought about it before; it's not going to happen.

bluth co.

Why did Mind Flayer Monk not respond to this? I found party monk and space monk particularly enjoyable.

I like them all  :)

Probably space is my favorite.

Everytime somebody mentions BOC I think of that scene from police academy
Blue Oyster Bar
I remember being a lil kid when I saw this and my sister trying to explain to me what a gay bar was.  Scarred... for... life...

My latest... its the Noorlacine.  Very rare and thought to be extinct this creature has found it's claim to fame with many cryptozooligists along with the coelacanth as proof that certain thought to be long extinct species can still be found wandering the planet.  Unfortunately we have only one Noorlacine left in existence and it's obviously Asexual so... I'm actually kinda glad we won't be seeing any puppies.  Then again who knows with it's exclusive carnavora diet I'm sure anything can happen.

one last change... just had to add some poop... there... perfect!

My avatar is the 'Yip Yips'.....They were the two aliens on Seasame Street back in the late 70's who were fascinated by anything "human.".......or at least things they thought were human.  However, they would get confused.  They at one point saw a Grandfather Clock and thought it was a person.  When a phone rang they would freak out.  I loved these guys when I was a kid.

Yip yip yip uh huh uh huh  ;)

Soooo happy somebody remembers them!   8)

I felt the same way as you, but I liked them right away even though they were weird.

;D  After the phone rang and they did "Brrrrinnnng" they would shake side to side and say "Helloooo.....helloooo."  That is still funny to me.  With the Grandfather Clock they would say "Ohhhh...Person...hello....Person."
