After last Thursday's No Agenda, I am fully in support of John only. It's never cool to tell your listeners donate, or F off. Some of us aren't rich, and don't have extra money for such things. Besides, if they are that unhappy they could charge for subscriptions. Mysterious Universe does, although I'm not paying for them either. Here's the deal, I donate to what I like, and to people who aren't begging for it, or bitching at me if I don't.

On the upside, there are many great free casts out there, as well as the Art Stream!

MV/Liberace!

Yeah, their aggressive donation approach sucks. I've heard Adam on numerous occasions threaten listeners with an end to the show because he was unhappy with the numbers. Uhh, sorry, dude. Not everyone is willing to pay so you can avoid a real job and have a hobby.

My thoughts exactly! Him and his name dropping, I"m bicurious bs. Either try it or shut up about it already. John, however, is intelligent, and cracks me up!

John puts up with it, which makes him a dick.

I have read that they pull in over 300K a YEAR in donations. So FUCK OFF "CURRY"

I would believe it. You know how many knights they get? Wow, that makes me angry he was even complaining. I don't even clear 30K a year, and I'm degreed. Some people's nerve is amazing. But the Mysterious Universe guys do the same stuff, 10 bucks a month. Anyway, not to derail the thread too much, there are many great free podcasts out there. I enjoy Binnall of America a lot.

Thanks for the extensive list with links, RHastings.  Could you let me know which ones focus mainly or at least primarily on the paranormal?  Thanks!

Absolutely.
In terms of the paranormal podcasts:
- Surprisingly Rogan focuses on paranormal quite often.   Rogan believes in aliens, bigfoot and many other paranormal ideas; he devotes not all but may of his podcasts to this.  He recently has Steven Greer on, and lets just say without directly calling Greer out but by simply asking the right questions, Rogan exposed Greer as a fraud.

-  The Conspiracy Show with Richard Syrett (ZoomerRadio)does a ton of paranormal focused shows.

The following usually largely focus on paranormal/unexplained but current events have become the imperative to focus on recently:
- A Dark Secret Place with Bryan Suits (KFI)
- The Lifeboat Hour with Michael Ruppert
- Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis

Another podcast I find most enjoyable is Penn's Sunday School on the episodes that his primary focus is paranormal or he has James Randi as a guest.

I don't care for Adam, either. I listen for Dvorak. .

Adam was at his best when he was playing the hits...

That being said, given that "back in" what I like to call "the day" Adam Curry was known as the Podfather due to his early adoption of podcasting and his influence helped popularize podcasting; you would think that the No Agenda Radio programs would not have the poorest podcast feeds of any of the podcasts I sample...  When I type the RSS address for a No Agenda program such as Jack Blood's Deadline Live, the most recent podcast available is January 25.  Adam & John's No Agenda RSS podcast feed seems to be 5-7 days behind on the Android stream.

I'd imagine Adam will be begging for money if they don't fix the most basic ways to hear the show because without ease-of-listening, they will keep hemorrhaging listeners and, in turn, donations...

is there a list of knights anywhere?  i found this map, with each point representing a $1000 donor.  zoom in just a bit to see the actual scope of their success.  this amounts to a huuugge pile of cash, and it doesn't include the "executive producers" or other anonymous people who just donate small amounts here and there.  that fucking show makes some bank... so for curry to piss and moan about donations... just wow.  he's a jizm satchel.

I like Frequency Cast. It's a UK tech show. Nicely produced.

Bill Burr

Burr is by far my favorite stand-up right now.

Inception Radio had an episode of The Stench of Truth this morning with Tracy Twyman. I don't know much about talk radio or podcasts, just what i've picked up in the past few months reading this board. Ms.Twyman came across as articulate, even if I thought some of her theories "out there". The host held his own and asked pointed questions - way different than a Noory experience.

On a side note, they mentioned David Icke and I am wondering why is he banned from C2C? It's not like his shtick is any more strange than some of their regulars.

Heh, good point. With the bullshit that's regularly given a pass on that show, it's hard to imagine how one gets banned.

i went back and listened to that show because i had no idea what you were referring to.  jeeze.  adam really went bat shit, didn't he?  john sounded really uncomfortable during the whole incident.  i think the listeners should call adam's bluff and do just what he said; fuck off.  let's see how that works out for adam's income.  i suspect he'd have to go find real work.

i listen to no agenda occasionally and have for years.  i've never donated a dollar.  i never will.  i do not donate money to these sorts of things.  i think if you want to have your little podcast hobby, fine... and i might listen to it or i might not... but to demand and expect a living from me is just a little presumptuous and self congratulatory, as i see things.

a harsh reality many refuse to admit is the fact that content is cheap these days because it's so abundant.  while i usually enjoy no agenda, i don't feel like the earth has imploded if i miss an episode.  furthermore, i can hear adam curry's black helicopter/tinfoil hat meanderings from hundreds of other sources.  i guess something would be lost if this show ended, but i, personally, would not be measurably affected by it.

frankly, i wish john would just break away from adam and do something on his own or with a co-host who knows he's not as interesting as john.

I feel the same way. I am not giving to someone who is not willing to get a real job and expects us to pay for his drug habit. (He admits he tries most new drugs out there) Adam is not original at all. However, I do enjoy John. I'm going to listen, but not giving them a dime. John sounded extremely uncomfortable.

MV, part of the reason I did donate to Ev is because you guys don't do that or expect it from your listeners. I enjoy what you do immensely and have no problem supporting people who aren't begging for my money.

As for shows, I found several from Europe lately. The unexplained and mysteries abound are two fun paranormal type podcasts.

JRE #334 - Dr. Amit Goswami

I just stumbled upon two cool new conspiracy podcasts:

1. Higher side chats

Just fun brain fodder.

Thanks for your clarification.  I'm going to check these other shows out.  So far I've just been listening to Mysterious Universe and Clyde Lewis to augment my addiction for paranormal "radio" (since c2c is so barely satisfying these days).  I still have to get over the fact that listening to an already-happened podcast is just as good as listening to live radio.  It's a psychological adjustment that I'm working on making.

margoloo

I have been listening to http://podcastufo.com/.  Martin Willis does one podcast a week, which airs on Fridays.  I have totally enjoyed his interviews, and he stays away from the fringe element, if you know what I mean.  He has a FB page too that you can follow to get some of the latest UFO related info.  I have found nothing to complain about! ;D He also has all his past podcasts archived, and they are all free!

I know nothing about her, but I've seen a number of people swear by this show, with the caveat of getting beyond her crappy intro.

I've been podcasting since 2005, and hope you'll check the shows out!

I just had this one recommended to me in a paranormal group I'm in.  Pretty good.  Creepy and the host is pretty sharp, personable and has a good radio voice.
