Regarding Art's listeners.
They seem to be a lot younger listeners than the listeners he had twenty years ago. Whereas Coast listeners of today sound like they're mostly retired.  Also, Art appears to have a growing international listening base.

Argue for your limitations and sure enough they're yours.

Think "time spent away from family" Perhaps one would want to limit that.

Art seems to have more listeners who are intellectually curious.  Coast seems to have more of the people who think inside the box, whose thoughts are governed by past programming by 'the system'.  Coast people might be the salt of the earth, but MITD people are trend setters and risk takers and try not to limit their imaginations.

I agree....I think the questions on MITD are much more open minded, both on the theoretical and critical sides...AND I do agree the callers in general seem to be younger! Which I take as a fantastic sign!

Time to take bets. Will MV have the show thread up in time? Go. :P

Uh...no.  I'm going no.  One unit of pride says no.

if you believe the numbers, Art had 10 and now George has 3 million listeners, there is lot of listeners of paranormal talk radio, who are known but arent listening currently, so hopefully they all come back

I remember when I researched this I saw as high a 15 million for Art from some reputable sources.

Aren't radio listeners reported in cumulatives for a week?  10 or 15 million listeners would actually represent an average of 2 to 3 million per night for the five nights.  And someone tuning in for a just few minutes or a segment or two would be counted as a listener for that night.

That said, 2 to 3 million listeners per night for an overnight radio show is fairly impressive.  I would also guess that many if not most of Art's listeners listen to most or all of a show, while most of George's listeners may really listen to far less

(3 million cumulative for a week listening to George would be an average of 600,000 per night.  And how many of them are really listening to the full show?  I'm guessing not many)

Ah, Art must be searching for a witch to replace Dr. Evelyn Paglini?

I hope she's a broom riding, cauldron stirring, spell casting, magic dispensing witch.

Art and Redacted found a witch to interview. Interesting. Paglini was an incomprehensibly good guest, the type that I thought I wouldn't be interested in back in the day but when I listened she was fantastic and seemed to make better predictions than the so-called psychics did. If Anderson turns out to be similarly interesting, maybe we should all buy ourselves some cauldrons and brooms.

pyewacket

Tonight's show will be interesting. Paglini's predictions (including many others who make them) were vague and well, predictable.  ???

I hope Art is open to more than one witch for MITD. I had suggested Judika Illes as a future guest and I really hope they can get her on the show. I enjoy her books for the folk lore and history.

A witch? Oh my...sounds like a fascinating show! I will definitely be listening.

No pressure, Debbie.  But better make an extra-strong batch of Eye of Newt tonight

I thought Blanche Barton was it.
Wonder what Laurie Cabot is up to these days.

Zenman

Cool. I was thinking, if I were Ed Dames or Gerald Celente, I'd also be looking for a reputable witch.

Wonder if they'll be listening?

I sort of said it in a different thread but thank god we haven't gone back to a UFO topic on the show, yet. A few shows without one is good pace. Sorry, I need some fresh topics. Stray away from Ghosts/UFOs for a while, there's so much out there.

I like unique history.  That is, taking historical events with a forbidden twist to it.  I don't know if this is an Art Bell or Coast topic, but I want to know more about the crusades, how it impacted witchcraft.  Why did it happen?  Some twists and turns to it.

Glen Kimbell, RIP, did this type of show, for example.  There should be some experts out there.

I'm considering writing a sweeping novel set in this time period, so obviously I have a very personal reason for a show like this.

It will be interesting to see what type of witch tonight's guest is.
Hopefully someone more like a bad witch like "Harlot" rather than a good witch like "Glynda"
