She said what the &*^&*^ was I talking about and who the ()*&(^&) is Art Bell? I attempted to explain but I don't think I got through to her. She never listened to C2C. She dose not know her baby might be a hybrid. She dose not see shadow people. Never heard of Mel's hole or Art's parts. She sleeps normal hours. :o
Please, please pass on my condolences to her.  "Normal" people who keep "normal" hours are a whole different breed (perhaps they are the hybrids?!??)  I am always surprised when somebody does not know what C2Cam is or who Art Bell is.  I tend to forget that "normal" people have no way of knowing what happens between 11 Pm and 7Am...Every night we tear buildings apart, repave streets, restock supermarket shelves and shuffle the dead between funeral homes and they never notice a change in the morning.  Their days are composed of "normal" people, "normal" occurrences and "normal" radio shows; no "ancients", no "ghosts", no giants and no Art Bell.

2 years empty... that house must have some funky spiders in it.

Cats LIKE spiders. This week I have recieved such good news. First Art, and now Jordan Jefferson may be gone from LSU football. God truly does love me. I am so glad I put down the icepick instead of punturing my eardrums.
Once AB comes back I will let her listen and see if it clicks for her. If not I will next her. With great power comes great responsibility.
Someone needs to track down J.C. Webster and get him ready for unscreened open lines.

Sorry Morph, we musta posted at the same time...

No worries, we not only must have posted at the same time, we must have SEEN it at the same time and had the obvious thought to share it. :) Besides, you can do the nifty screen cap thing (I have yet to figure that out!) so yours looks better than mine. As long as the info is out there, it's all good!

If using Win7, press the Windows key and type the word "snip." It brings up a nice little tool you can use for just such occasions.

I believe I know of this site you speak of. For the life of me though I cannot recall the name of it. I believe Preimere had them shutdown. The web url was not a normal one, I remember that. It was in Canada or on an Indian Reservation if I remember right?

I think you may be referring to the Anomalies Archive. Sadly, the site is no longer around. I was a regular poster on the shoutbox chat thing they had there. The owner of the site intentionally took it down. The main reason I think was that he was tired of the BS. Many people looking for new c2c shows expected shows to be posted within 10 seconds of the broadcast, forgetting that the guy was putting his own time, money and energy into maintaining the site on a volunteer basis. It became too much... and I don't blame him for taking the thing down. Most of the shows that were on that site are now readily available on torrents and FTP sites.

Interestingly, premiere did know about the site but for some reason left him alone. Maybe because it was in Canada and the copyright laws are different up here.

I'm still in Vista/XP land (depending what computer I'm using). I think I have 7 on my Netbook though (don't use it much). Thanks for the tip though.

Art has decided he will henceforth pronounce Hurricane Irene as 'Erin', because he likes it better.  No change in spelling is expected...

The keyboard PrintScreen (or Alt-PrintScreen) feature may work in the older Microsoft Windows OS too.
Captures the screen or the current window image to the clipboard and then you can paste into any graphics application (Paint, etc) to save and optionally edit it as a graphics file.

Nice choice of words.  200 here we come.

Here`s what I think...I may be wrong.

Art isn`t getting any younger; he`s sensing his mortality. However, he`s still feeling pretty healthy, and he realizes that IF..if, he`s going to make another "comeback", he`s got to do it now.

Why would he? Simple: he loves radio. he misses the action. C2C was his baby, and he despises what it`s become. He wants to right the course before melting into the eternal easy chair.

What about his family, you ask? Well, let me tell you about that. I once  basked in the cool waters of blissful matrimony, but no matter how gratifying things seem, after a few years, you long for something. Most of don`t know what THAT something is. Art is one of the few that do. He longs for the creepy, dark nights of C2C. He craves the action. It`s in his bones and permeates his soul.

He`ll be back. I guarantee it! ;)

I agree. Even though he would draw the blinds to darken the room when he did his show from Manilla, it just wasn't the same.

possibly named after Art's favorite of the Walton daughters?  ;D

Art's big coming announcement he hinted "stay tuned" will probably be about the return of his old "Pizza Punch" recipe:

Just a joke.

Art's wife's name is Airyn, she pronounced it Ai-ryn, 'Irene'.  According to Art, when he was first emailing her her thought it was Air-yn, 'Erin'.  When he realized his mistake, he already knew her as 'Erin', liked that better, asked her if he could call her that...

For trivia buffs like me -- Airyn's Facebook explanation re her name:

Airyn Bell This is the story why my name spells Airyn. During my baptism, our German priest didnt like the spelling of my name and he change it. So he change it from Irene to Airyn! But still everyone knows me as Irene and people always mis-spell my name so I have to coorect them all the time.

A persuasive argument. I hope you are right.  And if you read his book "The Art of Talk", you know he has "a bit" of an ego, and as such I think he enjoys being in the limelight a least somewhat.

I always found that quite odd and a little arrogant. I get his reasoning but once he found out you'd think he'd adjust. After all she'd been called Irene all her life and he was calling her Erin for a few months/weeks. maybe it's a cultural thing that she's be willing to change her name but I never really understood it.

rolindos

yeah, I don't think I'd like AB as a personal friend, but he's great to listen to, sometimes you just have to respect the talent and let the rest go by....Michael Jackson comes to mind.

My understanding is that Art and Airyn's courtship was by email, and that he always mentally pronounced her name as "Erin."  It was only when he went to the Phillipines and met her that he realized others were calling her "I-reen" that he asked her if she minded if he continued to call her by what he had come to think was her name.

Yeah, Art is kinda "different."  :)

I think he's also lucky as hell. Like most radio guys (ego maniacs who don't dare show insecurity), he probably isn't easy to live with. As someone else said in another folder, I'll take the radio Art and leave the personal Art for his family and friends.
