Ok, here is a report, of course I did not post a message till mid day or so but thus far about 575 have joined for the Podcast, not bad for the first day! Of course as we near July 20th we hope that number will grow and I am sure it will. I want to thank those of you who have put up your five bucks or better.

The deal is this, nobody knows what will happen July 20th, and I mean nobody. Of course the Blitz will help a great deal. Again if we start small it's fine by me. We will also have commercial content as you know as well as a couple of suprise things that you guy's are gonna love which I just can't spill the beans on.

We are hoping against hope that we can at least make this a break even or better operation. As long as the music license people don't hit us with a hammer at the end of the Year we should be ok. At least at this point it looks like we will meet our bandwidth costs.

We have truly put our blood and guts as well as our own money into this venture so knock on wood for us. Again I want to thank the whole bunch of you who have given so much support.

Actually,you do almost 25 posts / year... I have not been to Artbell.com in quite awhile.  As soon as Keith announced it here I headed over to the link.  If it is hard to find, they need to change it to a big, flashing, link that takes up a full page.  Time to learn something from Dave about shameless self-promotion.

Not a bad start at all!  It will probably slow down a little- and the blitz will help with exposure, but I don't know how many subscriptions you will get out of it to start (most of the die-hards will already know and have signed up.)  However, as those new people get a taste and realize they want the podcast, they will eventually pony up.


In one way, I am surprised you are openly posting the numbers- in another way I am not.  You really seem to be aiming to give everybody all of the information and making people feel a sense of "ownership".  I believe that the access to both yourself, your thought process and the work going into this is completely unprecedented.  This is one cool ride (the ups, the downs and the upside down loops...)

Also don't discount the fact that this was a soft opening and it was basically on a weekend to boot when numbers on the internet are traditionally down. I think.

I would imagine that now being 100% independent, Art could have a lot more opportunities to mess with C2C, than they could to Art.  I guess we can PM some ideas back and forth and PM KR with the best ones! Hmmmm, starting to analyze now....
