Ok...but if I book a biz class ticket for my daughter and girlfriend on Qantas, which city to start with? Host a barby and I'm there brother!

I was under the assumption that inbound international flights had to land in Sydney (customs) and go from there.  I know when I went to Melbourne that was the case.  It's been awhile and things may have indeed changed since then.  Qantas was awesome and I really got to know their Boeing inside and out.  Damn that was a LONG flight!

I prefer flying Cathay out that way...I thought Jaz might suggest Qantas over Cathay for Australia..I'm open to suggestions!

Why make your deficiency a woman much less a wife?

I didn't mean to say that my wife is a know nothing in general, she just has zero interest in learning anything more than the basics about how computers and smart phones work. She doesn't have too.
Her staff adjusts to her way of doing things. She manages to do very nicely in her profession.
Sorry I didn't make my self clear and you took it as a troll. See you over on Falkie's thread, where you can better fulfill your animal instincts.

Earlier today I emailed the program director of the big talk hitter here in Milwaukee which currently carries Coast and Rush. I thanked him for most of his programming, and then informed him that Dave was a snooze and told him about MitD. I said I understood the had some connections to Premiere, but that I (and other listeners in the area, surely) would prefer to hear Art.

Here's his response:

"Yeah, moving those Premiere shows can be tough. Let me look into it. Didn’t realize old Art was available for over the air broadcast. Off the top of your head, do you know the call letters of a station that broadcasts the show?

Thnx"

I then sent him a link to the affiliates page.

Could just be lip service, but he does seem genuinely interested.

Might want to try wtmj 620 am instead of 1130.  They aren't owned by premiere and they have a bigger reach.  50k

That woman is unstable and resents any mention of this place.
I wonder why. Was she ever a member? Wonder what MV did to offend her.  ;)

I'm sure just about any of the long-haul carriers are great, including Cathay Pacific.  I had a fantastic time and couldn't have met nicer people while in Australia.  Hope your trip is wonderful.   ;)

After July 20 it will not matter...Stations will be dropping like flies....but that is all a bi-product of what Art is doing!

I haven't flown any better commercial than Cathay. It still has somewhat of the old time feel, when it was a special time to fly in plane. Great staff, they don't treat you like numbered cattle, being lead to the slaughter house.

Quantas had financial problems, better than American carriers, but not as good as before and never was as good as Cathay.

Respectfully disagree. The long flight to Australia is exactly where I want to spend as much as I can afford on airfare. If a large person, packed in like sardines, flying coach on an American carrier is pure agony. FWIW I'm over 6' with lower back problems, your individual flying experience may differ  :)

Thanks Red, what a great song. I totally forgot about it. Definitely reminds me of Art Bell all the way back to the Coast days.

I flew Cathay direct to New York from Hong Kong last year.  15 hours. That was a long flight.

She ia a nice enough lady. Ive had no trouble when posting over there. I just think she gets a bit jealous when he posts so much over here. And he has hardly posted any over there. I think she is a friend of Arts wife.

She has her share of followers. There are a couple of "Art" groups on facebook. Im a member of several.

I really do enjoy Bellgab over all.  Not just because Art posts here. I was here before Dark Matter.

Its because you all gave a sick twisted sence of humor like me!

I agree and for such a long flight, you HAVE to be comfortable. 19 hours out of LA.  Our flight out of LAX was massively under-booked and there was space, glorious space!  No sardines whatsoever.  Spooky empty, in fact.  Plenty of room to lay flat and sleep, get up and explore, etc.  Couldn't ask for a better, albeit marathon flight.  The domestic flight to Los Angles was absolute hell--much akin to a cattle car.   >:(

Hi folks, I've been absent since hearing some of the last podcast.  I'm not going to read a hundred pages to catch up, but I was a little upset because the podcast's gay comments.  My own son is gay so I'm kinda sensitive to this.  He's also a model son.  Anyways, I've been a little upset and just needed to stay away for a while.  Don't want to start a flame war.

i once had a drag queen as a roommate.  gay as they came.  also lived on the same block as a gay man once.  and i'm an elton john fan.  even so, the podcast did not offend me.

Well I don't think I derailed to much as Telos informs me we had several thousand call attempts. Makes me so hot I might go send a wink to a lizard lady on Dave's new site.

That really was a amazing response to a simple off line test.

Art

Glad to hear this. Sports talk radio has taken a huge hit in calls over the years. The trend is people would rather text/tweet/email. Apparently waiting on hold is an unbearable inconvenience.

My hope is given its Art Bell, it's a one of a kind experience and the casual listeners will call in abundance.

Just because someone doesn't mean it seriously doesn't mean others won't take it seriously, or that it won't trigger a painful reaction that one could have avoided by not using a slur in the first place. Before I get accused of being the PC police, not "everything" is offensive. But be cognizant that you are privileged to be a member of the "default" orientation and would most likely never be penalized for loving who you love. You can throw the word "fag" around but never have to pay for being one. And you don't get extra credit or "get out of using hate speech free" cards for knowing one either.

My internet was down until about half an hour prior to your announcement that it was over.  In that half hour, I believe that I, alone was responsible for at least half of that reported number.

I now know your number by heart... I just cannot imagine using it again.  Seemed fun to call in when there was no topic and no listeners.  If I use it again, there will be an expectation that I have something to add to the conversation or a story and there will be thousands listening...

I think this is where I offhandedly say that I would like to take a truck and blow up Telus for causing me to miss my opportunity to call in...  ;)  (I think that is how it goes, right MV?) ;D

I hope MITD is discovered by scores of new listeners--I look forward to more quality unscreened calls, not just fans. :) (I know I'll be holding myself back!!)

I don't know why we are returning here again... But is it alright for a gay person to use such a word, or must they also be conscious that they may offend somebody or "trigger a painful reaction?"  Provided that I may have to "pay" for being a fag, can I use the word, or is it still verboten?

These are just my raw thoughts. And for the record, I don't discriminate based on race, creed, color, level of education, where you were born, where you live now, how much money you’ve got, how little money you’ve got, your appearance, your hometown, your favorite sports team, your age, your sex, your sexual preference, your politics, your religion, or whether you agree with me or not. I don’t claim to be right or know all the answers, but I had this thought again tonight:

Long Live Art!!!
