the former governer of arizona that claimed to see the pheonix lights would also be a great guest

haha, he did more than that. He "made an arrest" in the case. There's a clip of it on youtube somewhere, I'm sure.

I saw the Phoenix lights. A bunch of us went out and watched them. The woman next to me was convinced they were angels.

From prison even. Not like there aren't any smuggled cell-phones there! Or give him the Sprint Access line and call collect from the prison phone for free (just use your international access number caller.) Leaving aside other charges/convictions, or even theories, aside 'structuring' is a bs charge, it is simply abiding by the rules to the letter and avoiding deposits of a certain $ value. How is that illegal- especially since the whole system is, supposedly, 'voluntary' according to the code and/or if the actual value of the dollar amount might change on a floating market?  ;)

I thought it was bullshit in the sky. One of those things where you look up and say, "Oh, check it out. Lights." They could have been anything. But everybody else had an opinion.

I will say that they definitely did not look like flares or whatever it is they tried to tell us it was in the years that followed.

Is this the arrest you are talking about (from 1:40)?

haha yup. Governor Symington was about to go to Jail for fraud, so he used his few remaining hours in office to prank the media.

akwilly

I do remeber Symingtion on Larry King were he said he saw a giant craft fly over his place

speaking of which....is there a thread or website that lists the numbers of guests (or callers) on C2C etc over the years who have either gone to jail, prison, or, at least, had some fairly severe civil judgements against them? I can recall several off the top of my head but would be curious if any lists are out there.
ps: don't get me wrong. I like nutsos, outlaws, scofflaws, and alternative thinkers on the show. Fun radio. But still it would be an interesting compendium....

Is it true that their are people in the media like cnn or fox or even in talk radio that dictate to people like yourself what to say or stay away from. In other words if u toll the line u go places. Does this stuff happend??

It's not "toll the line" it's "TOE the line", putting ones toes right on the line, like in the military.  Not trying to be a wise ass, but thought you'd like to know this one.

You don't have to be a condescending douche to people.

That's true, but I took his question to be critical of Art in an annoying way.  Sorry.  What I mean to say is I thought he was trying to insult or wise off to Art so I said that.  I guess I took him the wrong way, it happens, sorry guys.

My favorite aspect of the 90's shows was that there was a sense that almost anything could happen.

Probably some of the best moments in radio history happened live and unscripted during open lines.  Even the worst and most unpleasant/crazy guests and callers were turned into entertainment by skillful hosting.

I can't stand to listen to Noory, but I don't hate him.  The fact that you could replace him with a tape recorder actually gives me hope that I, too, might someday be a syndicated radio talk show host.

He was great. Terrible governor, but great media personality. Saw aliens. Pranked the media. Went to prison for fraud. Received a presidential pardon on Clinton's last day in office because they were roommates or something in college, and he had saved him from choking to death. Went to culinary school when he got out of prison. Became a chef in a five star restaurant. To my knowledge, he's still a chef.

Amazing.

reese_3616

Art ... see if you can get   Mary Roach   on as a guest.

She wrote some interesting books , space ... reincarnation ... cadavers.

I didn't know any of that, wow.  From politics to chef?  If all politicians that were criminal went to prison, we'd be emptied out of them.

All my friends hated him, but I thought he was totally punk rock for calling a press conference and arresting an alien on live TV while in the middle of all the controversy that was surrounding him at the time. I loved the guy.

Just read his wiki page. didn't know he was a pilot in the airforce. The more I learn about him the more I hope to hear him on Arts show

If this woman is still living, I would really enjoy Art having her on. I verified C2C never has. https://youtu.be/D7XdMSL9x0o

I'd love to hear one of my heroes, Boyd Rice, on Art's new show. He was a C2C guest once. He went on to talk about the Knights Templar, but Ian Punnett was hosting that night.

Adam Parfrey, too.

BattyBrooke

Art, please consider having Stella Lansing on. I posted a youtube video of her on my previous post. Very interesting and Dave's show has never had her on!

Gramm will be my first Guest.

Art

Darn.....I was gonna tell you when and if it was set......but I've been trying to get Bill Gates to be the first guest on your new show......when he gets back with me I'll just have to tell him he'll be second or third....or to just call Keith and work it out with him.. :( :-\ ....or  vice versa.......

Faustina

Great news that Graham Hancock will be the first guest!!!  One of my faves.  I would also recommend trying to get on the show Zak Bagans of Ghost Adventures.  He's working on a documentary of a house he bought in Indiana that's got a demon living in it (the demon has been experienced even by local law enforcement, so it seems like this may be the real deal).
