I can listen to Dark Matter Radio on my Grace Digital Internet Radio  (Same show that's on TuneIn right now).

Will Art's show just seamlessly still be on the Dark Matter Internet Radio station when he goes live?
I hope so, RomanDad.  The Grace Digital is a marvel, isn't it?  I listen to Steve Warner's Dark City on the DMRN with the Grace.  I use dar.fm with Grace Reciva to record Art's Somewhere In Time episodes, and store those to play on the Grace while I'm falling asleep.

There are at least three "Best Of Art" channels on the Grace.   If I don't like the guest on one, I switch to another.

Not to worry, he made good use of the bathroom walls of the 7/11's instead.  He posted "I am the King" all over the stalls. What else could he do, no Bellgab.

Would I be able to hear the show on my Uniden Bearcat 355C 800 MHz mobile scanner?

That is a serious question sent to me, btw.

I'm getting a lot of emails about this shortwave announcement.  This has people really excited.
Funny, isn't it?  I actually just bought an older, converted bus and plan on spending a good part of the summer parked in the middle of a forest.  This means that the first piece of equipment for the bus (even before replacing the faulty hot water tank) will be a SW radio...

Wow, that feels like a Faliesque post.  Anybody care to know what colour underwear I will be packing in said bus or how many MPG it will get, or if the bed will have more than one occupant? ;D

! EVERYONE WHO ARE CB'ERS GET ON
CHANNEL 18 AT 12:00PM YOUR LOCAL TIME ON MEMORIAL DAY MONDAY AND ANNOUNCE THE NEW ART BELL "MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT"!
Did I mention the bus is equipped with a fairly good CB?

Bellgab is back  ;D  A perfect way to end Mother's Day this evening.   Thank you so much Michael and Curtis  !

It seems like broadcasting on SW also allows a workaround to the online streaming listener limit.  If the streaming hits that cutoff (I disremember how many thousands that number was), new listeners can go to shortwave--either via a web SDR or over the air.

I don't know if that has anything to do with the decision, but either way it's pretty nifty.

Glad to see everything back and functional.  Of course order won't be fully restored until we receive that first all caps communique from the Scorpion Minister...

I agree the Shortwave will be fun I am not sure how many will listen there. Bob Crane is going to sponsor it for 6 Weeks and it will have to pay the electric bill. In fact the shows survival will depend on people supporting it by buying the Podcast or donations, we are really rolling the dice by putting on a live streaming show. Both Keith and me have some skin in this game. We had a big player but decided we wanted to be our own masters.

Is it possible that Bob will sponsor the show for longer if it turns into dollars for him? Should we hold off on buying our radios until the show starts? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

laserjock

Sorry MV and team for having to go through whatever you endured.  They don't call it a labor of love for nothing, right?

Interview With Legendary Talk Show Host - Art Bell

Today, it's with great pleasure that we share with you a conversation I had with Art Bell, the inimitable host of "Coast-to-Coast AM." Just a few minutes on the phone with Art, and you know that you're in the unmistakable presence of a man who lives a full, contemplative life. We arranged the interview to talk with Art about a Giant Loop Antenna he installed on his property. The conversation, not surprisingly, spanned the gamut of global and local issues, and confirmed, once again, that Art not only talks with people through his radio program, but also listens earnestly to the world through his knowledgeable use of Ham radio.

Several months ago, while pulling into his driveway, Art had a revelation. Looking at his land, and the vast amount of open space available to him he said to himself, "Why not build an antenna. Heck, why not build the biggest damn antenna in the world." And so, as with so many of Art's ideas throughout his life, his antenna began a reality. Right now, near his house, Art has the pleasure of tuning in and transmitting to the world courtesy of a 1000-foot Giant Loop Antenna (see picture below).
