Personally, (and I know he's battered here), I like listening to JBW and would enjoy hearing him fill in for Art Bell.

I don't know if he ever commented directly on JBW and they have never met, I think his comments were more about the firing of JBW and the "new direction", and "suckage" (my words), of C2C under Norry's aegis. Listening to both I would doubt Art goes along with JBW is some of his more extreme conspiracy-thinking but would agree with some of his libertarian views and likely appreciates the radio and voice-over work. Interestingly both JBW and Art have either gotten fired, or gotten sick, of corporate radio and going to the new media (though I hope Art more successful, JBW has some real technical problems and, maybe, hacking problems and went behind a complete pay-wall, which makes it harder to gain listeners. Plus he, and his guests, can reaaallly get waaay out there on conspiracies.) I hope more success for Art and I think this mix of paid podcast, live free streaming, and (hopefully) even shortwave!!! I can't wait!

Yea, I'm not up on any details of Alex Jones & Art.
Someone earlier mentioned a co-host", I would vote NO twice on that idea. Art works an interview & the phones as masterfully as can be, any co-host would change the dynamic, in my humble etc.
I'm still voting for Crystal Gayle to be on in the very first segment, and RCH on in the first week.

I know Art hated didn't like Bill Cooper (and Bill Cooper hated Alex Jones and Art, Alex seemed to not like Bill) and I've heard that Art never would let Alex on his shows. But I wonder when, how, and why? Because Alex had Ted Gunderson on? (In other words personal) Or because Alex seemed to have a close connection with Norry? Or because the open-line callers who like Bill Cooper (or maybe Alex, though he was a small potatoes back then) would always mention them or just rant? Just sort of curious. I mean Art had Dr.William Pierce and some people far worse on (Alex, to all of his craziness, doesn't advocate race-war or holocaust denial (or, worse, that it was a good thing.) I'm guess it is the 9/11 'truth' crap and anti-government. Art, while praising Gingrich etc and criticizing Clinton often never went to the 'far right' crazy of militias or total anti-government as we see often now on radio program. He just criticized the personalities and laws- not the 'whole system' mainly.

That makes sense...seems the only conspiracy Art really got into was that regarding UFO's...and even then he seemed to side on the government keeping it a secret in the interest of preventing social unrest...

For sure, for sure, but this stuff happened before 9/11, in the 'good old days' of classic Art. And he had no problem entertaining OKC conspiracies (which, now of course doesn't compare, but AT THE TIME was pretty damn shocking and still tragic.) Not that he believed but would take callers, or even guests. (He would also fight back against them, unlike some hosts cough-cough.)
ps: I love Art, don't get me wrong, just wondering about the origins of Bill Cooper, Alex Jones feuds or bans.

we are Legion actually, but in a good way. At some points over the years I've thought of making a fake account just to access some info but then still decided blah. I hate that FB comes imbedded, with other bloatware, on my phones etc.

Thanks, very interesting. I did like those UFO hunter shows. Any news on how it was "burned"? I'm sure all the folks on BellGab have many good idea for possible guests for Art! I say Les Stroud and his sceptical bigfoot searches...

Yes same here!  I'm tempted go on a rant about how social media is creating a generation full of narcissism and megalomania, but sadly I'm part of that generation (I'm not implying that all FB users are this way, but it sure as heck encourages that behavior).

Wow, you're right. Looks like there's at least four of us. I've almost joined many times but I think they've cracked down on fake accounts recently haven't they?

Friend of mine had an FB page for a nail he accidentally pounded thru a water pipe in his kitchen when he was doing some remodeling. He updated it regularly with pictures of how bad it was leaking and what he was thinking of doing about it. It got lots of advice about whether he should leave it in or take it out, and other ideas of what to try. It was very popular, lol.

I hope so, too. The backstory is interesting, and as hosts on the DM network, we have to be careful what we say, but if Art interviews Bill he can ask the very questions we want to answer.

I understand that employers regularly get resumes with mention of how many FB friends interviewees have. I guess the next paradigm will be here when employers actually start to figure that into their evaluations.

Am I mistaken, or has Art tilted more toward the religious side of the scale lately?  I listened to a few SITs and he seemed much more decisive and adamant about his agnosticism back in the mid-90's.  I noticed a change of heart during "the Manila cycle" (it's a special kind of hyper-devoted Catholicism in the Philippines) and since.

George strikes me as ecclesiastically lazy.  Noncommittal.

Humilia: good observations.  I'm the same generation and a hypocrite-critic.  All the things I hate about it I indulge: pretending we discovered "Mid Century" art and architecture, "philanthropic" work and attitudes done and adopted (and quotes posted) purely for selfish social media points, migrations to the accepted cores of hip despite the strong pretense of originality (think Austin, TX; SF, CA; NY, NY; London, England), reddit, Pixar, Veganism, "fair trade", reclaimed wood, incandescent lightbulbs, typewriters, LPs, desperately hoping to be an intern on The Daily Show . . . ugh.

I used to think Facebook was only for 14 yo girls. Last year I found on Facebook, a guy I went to grade school with, ( I'm 56), actually found his sister, she put us in touch. Contact lasted all of 3 emails, as our politics couldn't be further apart.
He wanted nothing to do with someone who is not a liberal.

Wells is a good voice.  A good narrator.  Possibly a decent "trailer voice."

LOL...I always liked that about Art...he would never come out and tell you that you were full of BS...he usually would make a joke like that! Art is a class act!
