Does this mean no GabCast tonight, then?

that was a hell of a lot quicker than I thought it would be.... so bets on the next time this happens?  A month?  the day before launch?

It's good exercise. We'll all be stronger for this. Pass the bottle.

Maybe Keith can get one or two people he can delegate to in order to take some of the workload off of him.  That would likely reduce the stress and help stop this from happening again.

That would definitely be a good idea.  While I'm all for friendship and partnership sometimes it doesn't help in a business setting.  It always help to have a few others mixed in to take the load off and to cool off the others when things get too heated.

i wish to god keith would call in.  i think it would be very healthy.

Maybe he will. Maybe he will. If the two of you re-hooked up, it would be Tesla-level fu.

Anyone who hasn't been on since yesterday afternoon is in store for a nice little Roller coaster ride...

Mixed emotions. I'm stoked that the show is no longer in jeopardy but I also feel like Keith is a detriment to the project when he's in a position of actually speaking to other human beings. Maybe it's time to grow your "lean, mean" team just a bit, Art. It's quite clear Keith can't handle everything you've given him to do (e.g. anything other than uploading images to a website).

Art....sweetie...honey....I think you should ask Keith back and get him some help. Might I suggest Angel (the producer of Future Theatre). He is the best and can get you lots of contacts with music people and stuff. Sides, he's got attitude...and ya can't buy that.

oh Art....stay. Get some more people, cuz MITD is going to be huge, I tell ya....HUGE. And we need good voices. You know that.

Keith has done a fantastic job and should continue on. Such potential in all this.

Listening for word,
Lasha Seniuk (RoseGirl on here)

By the way, I will help out in any way that I can...just let me know.

THREE HOURS AGO I POSTED THIS.

Will we see the new brand of Art Bell toaster waffles appear in the supermarket if he ever does return to the air ?  ;)

I've actually been in a good mood since the Kate Upton gifs, but this latest news is the icing on the cake!

Okay, time to build the muscle for the next part of this ride .... may I also have a sip of the nip?  -- to take along with my herb!

I just went outside to let the little Carson (dog) out .... was away from computer and iPad for five minutes ... bahhahahahaha --

but seriously, glad Art and Keith made up ... never good to let stress come between a long-time friendship!!!   And utilize some people who would love to help out ... take some of the stress off of your shoulders!!!!!

Will we be seeing a new Falkie brand of duct tape for people who are too cheap to fix their own glasses?

I figured this was a screenshot of the previous time Art announced he'd made up with Keith.  Had to check Facebook to be sure.

Art and Keith, FRIENDS FOREVER!

I am glad that Keith has changed his mind, but I don't think I can take much more of this. The drama is getting nauseating.

My mind is full of fuck. What exactly is going on here? Good news I suppose.

MarkP

Why would I, or anybody really, commit to paying anything, to a guy who has literally cancelled (or so, announced that it was in serious jeopardy) this new show monthly, leading up to it's launch.

Seriously.  Get a professional producer.  Get a PR agent.   Have a filter.  Not every little drama and hiccup needs to be made public.

Again, why would I commit any money at all to such an unreliable producer of content?

Agreed.

I'm certain the people on BellGab who were willing to step into the breach had the best of intentions.  But, I kept thinking, we know Art doesn't trust easily or often. He knows Keith, trusts him, and respects him.

It wasn't as though Art was going to hand over the keys to an unknown internet person offering to help.

As though Art would say, "Here, random internet person from Nigeria, here are the keys to my Ferrari.  Go ahead, take it for a spin."

It seemed that the most helpful thing would be not a technical person, but rather a certified hostage negotiator, a clinical psychologist, or a registered dispute mediator.  I don't think there was a likely way forward unless Art and Keith resolved their differences.  For now, that has happened; But, taking some of the pressure off of Keith and having back-up plans for the (too many) hats he's wearing would sure be a good idea.

Kolchak

Really hoping Keith calls into the Gabcast.

SaucyRossy

I think we are all too close to the sun here and as a result the wings are in danger of burning up.

What I mean is, we have way too much power over what Art thinks. And I mean that with the best intentions. Too many cooks and all that. This is too many bellgabbers. We have no clue what the fuck art and Keith are doing on a day to day basis yet we think we can do better or that art can do better etc.

Yes, a lot of talented and smart people post here. Yes, we have some good ideas and suggestions.

But our hive has a tendency to effect the decision process way more than it should. Bellgab is like the joker in the dark knight, we want to chase the dog but if we caught it, we wouldn't know what the fuck to do with it. Or what ever that awesome line was from that movie. You get my point though.

Basically, Art has been live blogging his journey back to air through this board, and in any creative project there are always ups and downs, maybe there are more so with art, but to a lot of us it seems like it's dramatic when really we are just seeing how Falkie's Mayo is made.

Rather than seek actual legal counsel on the Sirius/XM debacle, Art accepted it from a forum member with a Battlestar Galactica Babylon 5 generic sci-fi show avatar.

dungiven

Well, I said I wanted to take a ride so I have no one to blame but myself.  Truth is, I am enjoying the hell out of this! MV is correct when he says this is one of those moments we will look back on nostalgically and long for them to return.

dan7800

This will it or won't it happen stuff takes a bit of excitement from me every time it happens.

As a result of this, it is less likely that I will move forward because I can not handle both
The Talk Host part of the job as well as the Music License matters, the Streaming deals
that have to be made, the Website, the Producer he had lined up and much more.

I still think that Keith was making things way too difficult for you, Art. I had mentioned Radionomy before and will mention them again.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radionomy

You could use them for the live broadcasts and not have to worry about music licenses or streaming. Since you would be a producer using their servers their agreement with Sabam would cover all the licensing. They have reciprocal representation agreements with all the American companies so your licensing issue is taken care of. Their server would have you broadcasting at 128 and be available as an embedded player on your site or through apps like tunein. All you would have to do then is offer the stripped version in your own archive and not worry about music licensing at all. There really are no agreements to be made or fees. You could have your show up and running with very little effort and only giving up a few minutes per hour for their ads.
