Do I think your use of that term is a contributing factor to that? Is that what your stating or is that in relation to what laserjock has said.

But take a step back and look at the irony of "And since, I am most likely the only one on this forum that regularly deals with suicide, I do get a bit put off."
I consider you a logical man. You realize what you just stated is exactly the same reason why Laserjock is saying any of what he is saying? Because he relates to the issue on a personal level.

If anything, I hope all of us can take a second, take a deep breath, and calm down. Don't want kumbaya to be sung or something (this is bellgab after all), but maybe we could all concede these are personal beliefs that no matter how much discussion we have on it minds most likely won't be changed. Then maybe we can make a concerted effort to move the conversation back to Art.

Yeah but he said it first. :o

The difference is considering the hypothetical rather than reality. Correlations without an understanding of very complex issues makes for nothing more than finger pointing. So, yeah a big difference. But I do agree it is better to come to an understanding than continued fighting.

People can get upset when moral absolutist busybodies try to limit their freedom of speech because it makes them personally uncomfortable. Who could have guessed?

Why is it considered liberal when people want to censor what other people have to say?  That's rather rigid or conservative if you ask me.  Both sides do it but some "liberals" are most fascistic about it.  I can say what I want but don't you dare contradict me.  You don't have the same right or freedom.  Yadda-yadda.

I want to take the word liberal back.  It used to symbolize freedom and respect for the freedoms of others. Not anymore.  Sad.  Don't misconstrue what I say.  I don't mean all on the so-called left are like this just some.

I've noticed a trend among other left-leaners to call those people 'illiberals' or something similar.

Rush is one of the most talented and entertaining radio hosts ever. I used to listen to him in high school even though I disagreed with his views majority of the time.

In regard to Limbaugh and other talk radio ranters of that ilk:  it's not so much their opinionated views I find hard to take, but after a few listens they sound like a one trick pony...boring and predictable.  Click.

Similarly, I don't find the 'Morning Zoo' style of show either funny or entertaining.  Two (or more) hosts cracking each other up over inside jokes...no thanks.  In fact I'm not interested in hearing any radio host talk at length about themselves or their own opinions, even Art Bell.

I think what separates Art from most other radio hosts, is his acute sensitivity to the needs of his listeners and his ability to remain objective.  He adeptly shares a few personal stories and points of view here and there, then smoothly segues into the subject at hand.  His timing is exquisite.

I have been informed by a reliable source that "it" was some sort of "pride" weekend?

Not Sure....

I constantly walk through a minefield of words in my current profession and understand how powerful words can be. But the big problem with the word police debate is that people resent being told what they can or cannot say. The word police thing only exacerbates the very problem the activists believe they are solving. By making fag off-limits it immediately taints the gay rights cause with baggage by pissing people off and strengthening their prejudices in the same way that the suppression of dirty words in the past has led to a modern culture where one of the most commonly used words in every day vernacular is the word fuck. Word suppression does not work, it backfires.

The proper way to deal with it is to let people say whatever the hell they like and focus on condemning actions. The goal of the gay rights activists will be achieved far faster that way.

That's retarded... (I ruin joke by typing "r-word")

ediot: read 'my" werds in RUsiian accent?

Them are fighting words to a trekker, sir!  This may be the single most offensive thing I have read in the last 100 pages.

Besides, I had always thought that the official drink of the tea party wing of the star trek party was Earl Grey?  Hard to hate the man who popularized the official drink, no?

Thesis may be maor figgin' werds to you "trekkers" ...

No "but"

I like the JJ Abrams 're-imagination' trek best of all... it's like bizzarro werld ur, sumthin...

And while we are at it, the term "butt hurt", you know where that comes from, right?  It's more gay hate drivel.
Ok so now butthurt is a banned term. Wow. I hope pretentious asshole is still ok, because it's the only appropriate term I can think to use to describe your post princess.

Words words words. I dont need to use those user banned words to upset people  ;)

Can we please get back on topic. And start taking about Bellgabbbers making more promos for the Media Blitz. We need photos of Ms Redacted and few new pics from Art would be good too.

Art you want our help; Art and Ms Redacted give us the tools (pictures) to work our magic.

How about a running theme on a video of, Ms Redacted, "the woman of mystery" people love that stuff. Reveal new info about her every few days. Start videos with blacked out picture of her and reveal more of her features in future videos. Or picture montage.

I like listening to Savage sometimes but I find Michael Medved's show more interesting as hs show doesn't stick to 1 topic.

I think Michael Savage is a pretty weird person. I remember listening to him on a San Francisco station back in the late 80s. One time he went on and on about getting upset at his dog being in the bedroom while he made love to his wife. Apparently, he thought that his dog was a perve  ???

He purports to be a conservative but he does not come across as genuine.

This is my guess for a story based on the lyrics and how the flow of this video goes.

"Mr. Mark Gormley, meets a wonderful Amazonian lady out in the wilds of western Florida parklands. She lures him deeper and deeper into the wild with her lustful gazes and come hither face spasms. Until just like that, she's gone! Poof. And Mark is left alone, in the woods with out her. He travels far and hard to find her again and after gorging himself at the local Longhorn Steakhouse on chicken fingers, he stumbles upon his brunette beauty. But she's not alone! And she's indecent. She's on a stage flaunting her stuff in a bikini for retired tradesmen and part time Minutemen. Distraught and devastated by this perceived betrayal. Mark Gormley volunteers for an experimental mining operation that will take place on the moon. They wipe his memory and after shaving his mustache perform genetic alterations to change his face and body structure. When he awakes he looks a lot like Sam Rockwell and thus Mark's story continues in the scifi indie classic. MOON, where as you can see, despite the body modifications and memory wipe he still has a penchant for leaning to the side while standing."

i don't have time to delve too deeply into this at the moment, but let me say this, I LOVE YOU ROSSY!  ;D

Savage is marvelous at condensing a political platform to it`s most base elements.

This is perfect. Great spoof on the old projector reels they used to roll into our classrooms and show on the pull down screen. Yes, this was 1999. The reels had to be 30-40 years old, showing the great films like "Red Asphalt" and "Where did I come from"

Happy to see Steam is still around. Used to play Counter Strike many years ago. Apparently Counter Strike is still operational too. Wow

You Can Learn a lot on this forum. Just don't be too sensitive to see it.

And there's a lot of bullying that does go on in this site as it is.  There are fellow liberals and gay people on this site that remain silent rather than get abused.

Wrong again.
