This is going to be a long weekend! I can't wait for Monday!

On another topic have you guys seen these?

Smoke machine? Portal to hell? Mysterious black ring in sky baffles Kazakh village

I wonder if it's bugs or some type of cloud formation I've never heard of?

@MV. of course I wont link to any unofficial material by Art. But in all honesty, you're a hypocrite (not that I care, it's just a fact) when you allow linking to the "ultimate Art Bell torrent" here on the forum. Afaik, that stuff is owned by ClearChannel or Coast to Coast, aka pirated.

Are you so fucking stupid that you don't understand the difference between shows owned by money grubbing ASSHOLES/SPAWN of SATAN and future shows that Art has specifically asked us not to pirate? Fuck CC/PremRat/Ihateradio - they can boil in putrid pits of sewage... and choke on giant wads of shit as far as I'm concerned.

Ok, so here is something to consider, ALMOST nobody is doing a live show on the Internet, it is new so I expect it to start slow. Don't get me wrong the potential is unlimited but the word has to get out, that is where I will depend on all of you. We need a social media blitz starting in early July kind of like the one you did for XM. Getting the word out is the name of the game.

We need to post everywhere. I will start to grant select Interviews in early July. Everybody anyplace in the world can get Tune In free, so all we need to tell them is get the free Tune In app and search for my name or Midnight in the Desert.

This will be a fun experiment, the World has changed and we are going to try and ride that wave. Smart Phones, tablets, Computers and Internet Radio's. Also, I do not see any reason why it can not be on other services if they want it. Heck they are even starting to put Internet in cars.

The only thing we want to protect like crazy is the Podcast. But the live show...let everybody have it free.

It will be in 64K Stereo so it should sound first class. Very few if any commercials and a suprise or two, fun fun fun.

good for you, but i'll be paying.  and don't link to any unofficial material on the forum.  i'd like art to make money so hopefully this can last.
I believe that this is the first time that I have said that I will subscribe.  I had held off before as it really depended on what the structure was and who the partner was... The thing is that I will be able to listen live- so I do not NEED to subscribe.  If it were another large corporation I would probably have listened live for free or found pirated shows.  It sounds like Art was finding that they wanted to package his show... And I doubt I would have actually paid for all of the content that I have no wish to hear (lets just say that I do not own a satellite radio even after dark matter...)

Knowing that it will be a smaller, private enterprise now means that they can add one more recurring payment from me.I am happy to support Art directly and am glad if he has a "stand alone" option.

I have a number of CD's from small bands that I have seen live.  I was happy to support them but have never bought a MP3 from Itunes and have not bought a commercial CD in at least 15 years.  I really want this to work out for Art...

The roller coaster is heading up again.  I'm thrilled to hear that this is looking better and better.  I'm guessing that you have learned more about podcasting and the music industry than you had ever wanted to over the last couple of months.  We experienced the ups and downs second hand and I cannot image what it has been like for you.

Saying that you will be granting some interviews sounds like you are leaning strongly in one direction... Exciting times.  Perhaps just one more "stay tuned" for old times sake? ;)

Art--fantastic.  I'll certainly post and trumpet everywhere for your show.  Speaking of interviews--would you consider going on Phil Hendrie's show?  I'm sure he'd love to have you, it would be great and would help pass the word.  This is all very exciting--good luck!

The word WILL get out .. you can count on that.

I'd imagine any media that doesn't see you as a competitive threat will be willing to cover your return.

If you'd allow a couple minutes an hour commercials for barter time -- I'd imagine hard-up radio stations would carry/re-transmit the live stream. .. isn't that kinda how C2C steamrolled originally - well minus the "hard up" part .. but those were different times. Just don't give them a five minute or so top of the hour news block . please. But one minute added onto your couple of hourly breaks wouldn't be toooo unbearable.

I am terrible with computers and such. So whats the odds on me being able to hear Art on the radio

I have also found the Tune-In app on smart TVs, smart blu-ray players, media players like Roku, as well - all you need is an internet connection with those either ethernet wired or wifi. I can play Dark Matter radio network stream now thru my nice home audio system from my smart Panasonic blu-ray player...

If you figured out how to sign up, upload an avatar, and post at bellgab, I think you'll be able to handle listening to an internet stream.

Great news about the show. Here are a few thoughts/suggestions

- If $$$ is an issue, consider a few more ads. None of us will complain if you need to have 5-10 min of ads every hour to cover costs.
- IF you have a subscription option, how about a personalized, signed 4x6 photo of yourself for all those who prepay for a year or something. This would be a GREAT incentive for us long suffering fans
- Don't try to beat piracy. It is a losing battle. Embrace it. Put the shows up yourself on Youtube WITH ads. This will not only make your advertisers happy, but you can make $$$ on Youtube. (Assuming it is legal). You cannot beat piracy and I don't want to see it creating frustration for you soon into your show.

Finally, I am traveling in Spain and saw this sign. I thought people here would enjoy it. Apparently it is VERY dangerous here.

You are a pioneer Art.  Once you give us the go ahead, the word will spread like a wild fire. It'll start small but it will grow as people get to hear you.  It is gonna be successful and it is VERY exciting!!!   ;D 8)

I am no lawyer, but I would advise against it. Stay off the air. We don't need to give Sirius a reason to say that he violated his NC

By the way, I have internet access and the TuneIn app on my smart tvs, phone and IPad.  I am ready to listen live and subscribe to the podcast!  WooHoo!!!  I don't have a baby monitor...but I may get one just so I can say I listen to you on it as well.

Sure Art can go public with an IPO .... but that would be crazy. He doesn't need investors or even partners.
As things get going, if he doesn't know already, there'll time enough to explore different business structures.

Someone posted something about  initial subscribers getting an autographed picture if they sign up for a year. That's a great idea. You should do it.

Dave has been doing it for years. He is one I received from him a few years back.

It was nice because he also attached a personalized note. Much of it was hard to read. Half was covered in some strange red sauce that burned through much of the paper, and the other half was rambling on about how he thought it was great I listened to his show and that he hoped to hear it sometime.
