Quote from: onan on October 04, 2013, 12:05:00 PM...My memory of LMH led me to believe the show would be torturous. I didn't find that. I don't think she was stellar but I liked her more than I expected too, lucky me.
That voice! That high nasal drone! ARRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

It's creepy for me. I have a neighbor, an engineer, who sounds just like him.

When we were listening to him, my husband commented on how Taylor sounds exactly like one of his soldiers.  I guess he just has one of those voices.

I remember Art commenting years ago that he sounded just like Dannion Brinkley.

Finally, what many BellGabbers have been clamoring for:
An entire show of 'Open Lines'!

Next Week

10/7 - Mon - Brendan Cook - Ghost Investigators Society
10/8 - Tue - John Hogue - Prophecies for 2013 and 2014
10/9 - Wed - Dr. Andrew Karam - Fukushima/Yucca Mtn
10/10 - Thu - OPEN LINES!

Get your stories/comments/questions ready. It will be BellGabbers time to shine and prove that we are very lovable. ;)
And, please, pretty please: Try to use a landline.

Yay! I will definitely be trying to get on.

During the LMH show, I had a lot of rebufferings on the web feed.  I didn't have them on the two earlier shows this week.  Anybody else have this trouble?  Could LMH have drawn more listeners than Sirius had anticipated.  More likely my sucky ISP was throttling me.
I didn't experience any rebuffering last night on the Sirius PC stream via high speed Time Warner cable internet.
Probably a local ISP issue, unless your internet speed is slow.

Looks like Thurs got changed to Open Lines on the website.
Yep Art changed the schedule to include a full night of open lines on Thurs next week.
Maybe the JC call during Linda Howe's interview last night got him to realize he better have some nights of
open lines for those calls so they don't have to interrupt the guest interviews?

That makes the week even better. The only guest I had somewhat of a lack of interest in was "clean energy in China" guy. Not the whole week is rock solid. I'm looking forward to Thursday night the most.

It wish there was a weekend host. Even if it was probe man Whitley. I also wonder what a RCH hosted show would be like.

Fucking HILARIOUS. I would love to see that happen.

Yeah I think Indie channel should be turned into a Art bell channel.
Give RCH, LMH, Whitley, hilly ross, richard syrett,  and a political "government is out to get your guy" radio shows and see what happens.

With Dave Noorie as his guest.  Dave would be ranting about his personal photos and how they show he has a real head of hair with it's natural color and they're proof he's never had a lift.  He'd break into "Can't help falling in love," just before Hoagie cuts him off.

For the first time in a while, I have a consistent reason to be bummed out every weekend: No new Art Bell program playing at night. A good problem to have.

That was Phil Hendrie doing an impersonation.

Or maybe Art said it too.  As far as I know he seemed to take the Hendrie impersonations in stride.

No, I've never listened to Phil Hendrie, this was during a long interview with Al Taylor that was on Coast to Coast in the 1990s.

Are you telling me that Phil Hendrie interviewed Al Taylor while pretending to be Art Bell and also said "you sound like Dannion"? They both said it? That's weird. For some reason I don't find this likely.

I've heard Art mention the Hendrie impersonation on the air but I've never in all the years since it first happened been interested enough to seek it out.

I don't know that LMH was the reason for data stream problems from SiriusXM, or Art's show is just growing faster than expected.

I think word is spreading and more people are trying out a free internet radio account.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THURSDAY OPEN LINES!!!

Spooky Matter

Thanks Re.  I decided to not question my questions here.  You were a great help.

I know that quite a few people have been consistently fastblasting Art asking for an Open Lines show, and it's great to see he's listened.

In any case, I was really worried about the "Clean Energy in China" topic he had previously scheduled.  Sounds just like something Jorch would have come up with. IMHO.  :P

I'm happy to see this guest no longer on the list for next week. It reminded me of some of the boring later C2C material as well.

I am really excited to hear an update from Brendan/GIS.

They sort of mislabeled the clean energy thing. What the guest actually talks about is clean nuclear energy. China and India are looking into building a whole bunch of thorium-cycle reactors. Since China doesn't care about anti-nuclear lobbies or other countries telling them what to do, it's going to be huge news in a few years and a probable source of diplomatic conflict.

In theory it could solve the energy crisis globally. In practice it might blow up in our faces. Since it's China, one of the two will happen, whether we like it or not.

Air and water pollution in China is so bad from coal energy (not to mention other smokestack chemicals, vehicle exhaust, and sewage) they have to do something.

Oh I agree, China has some serious environmental problems. And the truth is that they can't dither around with dog and pony show solar panel schemes and wind farms like we do. They actually have to figure this out and do it quickly or else. Their answer, almost certainly, is going to be nuclear. They haven't got much uranium, but they've got plenty of thorium.

I'm not opposed to them exploring the thorium-cycle, nor am I anti-nuclear per se. I'm just saying that a lot of people won't like it and it will be a big subject in the coming years. Along with India, they're going to have to give the finger to a world that is highly anti-nuclear after Fukushima. It's going to be interesting.

Is he yours ? Sooooo cute. Just make sure you can hide electrical cords as much as possible. An idiotic social worker came in and plugged in a lamp that was not working and a cat we had gotten from the pound got tangled up in it and bit the electrical cord and died a horrible death. We were so angry at the woman we told her the next time she was NEVER coming into our apartment again. We still feel so guilty. We lost too many cats to cancer, Chinese gluten crap ( 1 ) and some just disappearing including my beloved Grey and Baby Mouse.
Feed the baby KMR too. Looks like he's a real monkey cat too.

I'm really starting to get annoyed by the incredibly small resolution pictures on Art's site. This isn't 1998. Give us the full image or don't bother. This is absurd and has me question the validity of some of them, especially the UFO image in the Albert Taylor section.

Am I the only one bothered by this? Does Keith have an issue with giving us high resolution images?
