Well, except for having that Jay Thomas clip on in the first place.  No one over at Sirius has any common sense?

Dude, Sirius is unrestricted and unrated. They could of just said fu and kept the commercials. They took the spots out the very next day.

During the Reed interview Art refrenced LMH and said he wanted to have her on and maybe talk about the tests she had done on "art's parts".

PrairieGhost

I emailed Paul Bowman to have Whitley Strieber on to talk about the mysterious fires across the world. People are calling them demonic fires where couches and other things catch fire for no reason.

How tall is Art? Is he freakishly tall or does he only like to have photos with short women?

Yep. I wish this would non-issue would fall off the board. It's over, who cares?  Sorry anyone was offended by it, but it was Monday and it was taken care of. Let's move on and enjoy Art.

Oddly enough, I listened to 2 old shows this week where he answers both those questions. He's like 6'1 and his wife is 4'8.

What d you mean sad bond?
Art pretty much gave a lo of people a livelihood in a way.

However, she says in that clip that dreamland was 2001, more like. 1991

I noticed this as well, she was way off, but then again she was probably caught off guard with GN's nonsense.

Haha, Hoagland last night on the air with Art Bell mentioned Noory several times.
He even read a couple emails Noory sent him during the interview...

Morgus

Last night Art Bell mentioned the 3 cats he has now: AbbyDos, Yeti, and Dolly.
He said Yeti is now 22 years old - thats equivalent to 100 in human years...

I am actually really glad that it did occur as it really gave a bit of an insight as to why Art picked satellite.  Listeners complained and it appears that they got respectful replies.  Listeners (and, likely Art) complained and they changed their policies and apologized within a day.  I get the feeling that if Art talked with Pemrat they would tell him to piss off and I guarantee that they do not care in the least what their audience thinks.

It really was good that it happened...

Unfortunately, due to events beyond my control, I've only be able to listen to Art once live on my free trial this week.

But even in replays, it's great to hear him in a current and up-to-date manner. It's almost like he was never gone.

Much appreciation to Art, Keith, MV, and everyone else that have not given up the fight to keep great radio, talk, discussion and gab alive.

Does anyone know what show was Art referring to when he said that he had heard a show on Sirius and some guys were making fun of him and aliens, but then all the callers after that wanted to talk about aliens?
What day/time?

I was half asleep listening to 104 a week or so ago around 2am-ish. I heard the guys talking about Art Bell and they said that he came from Coast to Coast, which was taken over by George Noory and had since left the show. I immediately jumped out of bed thinking Noory was gone. However, they went on to say that Noory had left and that George Knapp (I think) had taken over. My enthusiasm was gone.

I knew they had their facts goofed up.

They were laughing it up at Art's expense though.

Two things. First: Demon fires have been blamed on space aliens .. at least back in 2007: http://www.wnd.com/2007/10/44243/

And second: Linda Howe is going to have a busy week. She'll be with Art's parts .. and George's show, too on Thursday..

Last night's show with Hoagland knocked it out of the park!!!

Homerun Mr. Bell!!!  please keep it up!

So I spent about two days making this after hearing Midnight in the Desert Monday night.

I want to make some Art art (heh), but I haven't had the inspiration come to me yet.

That's beautiful and perfectly captures the mood of the show.

You really should send that in to Keith (webmaster@artbell.com). He will definitely put that up on the artbell.com site. He is very receptive to suggestions and submitting art, photos, news and various content for the site. He has always responded to me even if he already had a story that I submitted.

Keep the artwork coming. You certainly have a talent.

jinwicked

Thank you so much, I did email it to him and to Art. Time for me to sleep. :)

This is so sweet.  I love how gabbers Bateman, Ross, the alien guy, the shadow hater and rest are watching over you.

I've been trying to extract the audio files for Art's shows from my iOhone using the Mac OS X command line and not having any luck. I downloaded a free app that will let me navigate the phone directory like it was just another computer but still haven't found the audio files. SXM really locked down there app. If I figure out a method I'll post details here

Great Art art btw

SR-71

Hello everyone, is anyone going to listen to somewhere in time this sat.

C2C are still running Art's shows on Sunday?! Lame. Even after Art repeatedly asked them to stop? No I won't be listening to any coast to coast programming. I probably have all of the shows that C2C uses for SIT anyways. I remember back when I had streamlink, I found a way to download every Art Bell SIT for the last three years, I grabbed them all and over the next few months I noticed that everything used for SIT was being repeated within that three year period. It doesn't seem like they put much thought into which episode they choose to replay. I will be listening to Dark Matter replays though.

I too have been poking around inside the iPhone trying to pull the files for each show. I believe I have found the download location, but I haven't yet been able to pull a playable file off of the phone.

There is a folder called QP videos, this is where I think the content is being downloaded to.

SiriusXM --> Documents --> QP Videos --> Another folder (this folder will be named after your username)

In the username directory, folders appear for each show you download through the app.

The folder that appears has an audio folder within it, but it looks like the shows are split up into hundreds of tiny files that have the ".chk" file extension.

Still poking around, but thought I'd post this for b_dubb and anyone else who is also attempting to decipher the SiriusXM app file structure.

I TO have been attempting this - as analog way of doing this sucks to have to record the show - now granted i have the show for what appears now to be 1800+ days vs the original 365.

HERE is what my testing has found out.  On my jailbroken ipad - I discovered that the files are downloaded like a zip file - about 103 or so megabytes.  The file is then 'extracted' into it's proper directory/folder formats - and the audio files are broken down into 600+ 167kb files with the file extension .chk - all files are like 1.chk 2.chk etc etc.  I tried to research this, and see if it's possible to rebuild these using windows chk tools - ( I have some chk tools from my old USAF cyber security days too that didn't know what to do with em) so I've given up and decided to just pipe the headphone output to my line in and record from there.  I get a 2.5 gig file in stereo wav format, that I compress down to 128kbs Stereo 48000 mp3 - leaves me with a 195ish MB audio file - that I go in and tag and what not.  It would def be nice if we could figure this out.  I even interrupted the download at the absolute last second and was able to get the "compressed" file over to my PC - but again - i couldn't do anything with it.

I next tried viewing my TCP on the SiriusXM Web app on the PC - traffic using wireshark and was unable to find url's for instance that would let me plug the file into a media player of my choice.  I DID find a .m3u8 (playlist file type) and again was unsuccessful using that.

ADDITIONAL thoughts, after further wireshark hunting, i was able to narrow down the encrypted format for the audio is indeed only piping out a 64kbs stream, and it's using bluray like streaming techniques.  Within my snooping of the traffic i found that I had references to almost 600 individual *.TS files labeled 000001.ts 0000002.ts etc etc...so howEver they're doing it they've got the encryption on lockdown pretty good.

MY 2 Cents....  I would like to figure this out though as it would make backup/storage easier than re-recording them.

There's something special and touching about this.  I love the composition, the colors, and the inclusion of a few forum folk.   Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Heh - yeah - we'll get this hopefully - yeah they're labeled all cryptically too - like 349adlkjj34598alkjdf9283408 until 'uncompressed'  - I'm still working the m3u8 angle cause that's a legit file type for most online radio streaming.  You give me a java embed player and i can generally get you an url.  But this sirius stuff is new to me.  And breaking things into 167kb file types lol - that just seems assinine.  I'll keep ya updated as well if i find something.

Well, loading the raw data into Audacity gives you a useless hissing sound... hmm...

I have not read all the posts so maybe the following has been discussed.  Did it seem last night that RCH was trying to bait Art Bell by more than a few times bringing up "George".  RCH talked about winning the prize of hosting c2c for predicting that Obama would win the presidency and I think Art responded with "good luck with that".  Then the bumper music began after Art made his statement and if you listen closely RCH says over the music that "George is a honorable man".  Just wondering if anyone else heard it and what their impressions are?
