Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

No

But why would it be described as a "bizarre accident?"  Bizarre, yes, but "accident?"  Oh, well, sadly, I fully expect the goof-in-question will reappear tonight with an explanation for his absence that is even more bizarre.
perhaps he could mean an 'accidental' meeting with someone?  8)

Could be.  I just didn't get that sense from the brief comment from Simone last night.  It struck me as somewhat odd that Simone didn't provide any further details and just said something to the effect that Noory would explain it all with his on-air return.  Don't know whether Simone just didn't want to speak for somebody else, especially Noory, or even Simone wasn't quite sure of what was going on.

As we mentioned, I expect Noory to, unfortunately, reappear on-air tonight with the monthly LMH appearance.  I'm sure The Village Idiot will give us another WTF moment concerning his absence.

Simone spent all of 3 seconds on it and basically all he said was the same damn thing he said the first night... "Noory, Bizarre, Accident" that was it.  Maybe if we stop talking about him he just won't ever come back... so shhhhh!

Ziz.... you optimist you.  ;)  If only it was so simple.  What's that old Monty Python routine about "nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!!!"  To paraphrase, "NOBODY escapes from George Noory!!!"  ;)

Rob Simone was awesome with the "Black guy children" stuff.  I can't imagine anything creepier than waking up with little black children next to my bed.

I agree with everyone Simone did a great job with a good topic.

C2C might have a problem with him dedicating time to another show/format. I doubt it, the cross promotion would be ideal. Either way, After listening to the trainwreck thats C2C I would be real concerned about Noory dividing his effort/attention away from C2C in anyway.

Edit: If the TV show is with a different company, I could definitely see Noory forgetting to notify the parent company until way past what is expected or not realizing he has some contract clause that prevents this. He is the Barney Fife of radio. I know he had an abomination of a tv show before once. Who knows.

I like Rob Simone but his delivery is pretty damn Shatner-esque

He sounds more Takei-esque to me. Anyway, he would make a suitable replacement if and when Coast needs one. He seems to be genuinely interested in the paranormal. He has normal conversations with his guests too.

I haven't been a big fan of Rob Simone before, but after the last two shows, he's now my second-favorite host, after Knapp. Great job (or maybe just the contrast between he and Simple George). Shame they didn't give him the Saturday gig rather than Wells.

Simone might be a good main host. Wells could do some Friday Coasts if he kept his cool and mellow vibe. Punnett could reclaim his old turf. Knapp could do all of the Sunday shows.

anybody but noory lets be honest... maybe this will be one of those cases where some douchebag calls out of work a few days and the rest of the people that work there realize that the place is much better off without that POS.

SnapT

Didn't Simone describe it last night as a "bizarre ENCOUNTER"?

The word "encounter" almost makes me think something PARANORMAL happened to Noory.  Like he was abducted by aliens, Travis Walton-style.

Well, maybe they're not talking about it because it's kinda, uh, embarrassing. Besides, how long does it take to heal from one of these?

Bad George took breaks in the past. Why would this "vacation" be different? I dig your scenario, but it doesn't apply in this case. If it did, someone like Simone or Syrett would be the main host now.

Maybe sNoory got laid - by accident.

That would be a bizarre accident for Noory.  ;)  Pretty much, paranormal.  Maybe "Elvis" finally got lucky.

I suspect when ever that happens, it's always on accident.

George has spent the last 10 years counting down to 12.21.12. Could it be that, with fewer than 30 days to that "fateful" date, he'd be unceremoniously dismissed?  Don't think so but...

Wouldn't that be ironic?  Rather than something like the end of the world, it's nothing more than the end of Noory's Weird World.  If that's indeed the case, time for a big "Thank You" card to the Mayans.

There is NO doubt that tonight I will be listening!   I absolutely believe that Noory will be BACK....however, have we thought about this.....

Premiere will allow him to leave with dignity......and that he will stay on for a period of time....past his "retirement" "contract" date.....but, maybe slowly be weaned out of the host chair?

ONE CAN ONLY HOPE!  And, I must say this:  I am not a mean spirited listener.  However, I am a listener with an IQ above a turnip.  I am tired of this potentially enlightening, interesting, intellectual, educational program being placed in the "hands" of an inept host.  If Premiere is smart....they know that four to five hours of talk radio should be hosted by an individual who is capable of interviewing guests in a manner that is sightful, organized, and engaging.

I'll chip in on a mufin basket.

...there are no coincidences.

We're on the same page. I wish him and his family well. I wouldn't even joke about him if he was a nice guy. He's not a nice guy. He also made it impossible to listen to Coast. It seems like it's intentional at times. I just listen now and then. I was a regular listener in the past.

Your theory makes sense. He missed one or two Fridays, here and there, over the past few months. Maybe they really are trying to ease him out of the "captain's chair". Maybe he'll go to part-time status with Simone hosting the show when Noory sings karaoke.

if that happened it would indeed by very ironic, considering 12/21/2012 was Noory's original planned retirement date when he took over c2c ten years ago...

Less than Two hours to go until showtime tonight and no guest host listed on the c2c website - so Noory might actually show up tonight with Linda Howe.

I feel George should step aside. End of story.

You could have posted that in 2008. It's been a never-ending story.

Maybe he is going to marry LMH! Oh God!

That's not too far fetched. Ever notice the love song bumper music when she's on? Surprised he hasn't played Marvin Gaye yet.

Who knows? I'm pretty sure it won't be ground breaking news... I'm going to listen for the first time in two years.

Yeah, the question is; can it get wrose with a different host?
