I am a very reliable informant!!!  I informed you guys weeks ago that that Lin Wood guy was bonkers but you didn't listen and now he pulls the rug out from under you again and you look like fools.

He has been on some shows recently and it tearing it up. We're talking John, Daniel, Paine, Isiah, in some of his comments/rants. Epic awesome.

Yah, but talk about establishment. MacLean Virginia. Check. NyTimes, Wash Post, The Atlantic, Check.  I'll bet he is a big supporter of Israel for Biblical reasons (and some investment reasons,) meanwhile thinks the Good Samaritan story is bunk and shouldn't apply, and likes wars.  Jack Kemp, mentioned in the wiki, as I recall went to 4th Pres, they were fairly hardcore and had a Welsh pastor who could preach.  I'm unaware of MacLean Pres. I doubt they -but these days who knows- that they buy into moral relativism and so-on. Calvin or Knox based churches, usually, don't buy into that- but these days?

Oh yeah definitely establishment.  Not moral relativist, though -- those Reformed churches never will be.  They will go on being good principled conservatives until they all croak.

No one knows the hour, or time. And the Lord works in mysterious ways. One has to note also that several prominent people in the Good Book were awful sinners, but used for good works or for the plan, sometimes even without repenting.

ps: I think as society has become more secularized that even references and allusions are seen as 'kooky' by their media. But really almost all classic literature and political speeches reference various religions and it was assumed, back then, that one would understand the references. If I say 'by Jove' in an argument or pleading (note that in Court you make a 'prayer' to the Court in civil matters ) doesn't mean I'm worshiping Jupiter or whatever. Though Lin seems to be heartfelt in some of his musings and rants. I like it!

I recall some prison museum in Scotland, maybe Ireland, that had a machine in which sand was encased with gears, like a transmission, so I'm guess it was Scotland because smarter types, and prisoners were forced to manipulate the device with their arms. For no financial or energy output except pain, this doesn't seem very Scot, so maybe the English were wards of the prison? I don't know but could be another reason behind 'pound sand?'
