Roger, I agree. I hate it when bands jazz shit up during live performances and the songs sound nothing like what I've heard for years. Very disappointing. Play it like the studio recording, please. That's what I want to hear. I don't want a "new interpretation" or experimentation. This is why I love Jeff Lynne of ELO. His live performances are perfection.

Reputation pimps of the worst kind, they've had maybe a dozen good songs in my lifetime(36 years) and I'd argue they haven't had a really good song since we invaded Grenada. Not sure how it is your parts of the country but here there have been a large contingent of old bands trying to revive themselves and go on tour-

Def Lepperd, Journey, Foreigner, Night Ranger are among the acts coming to town that sucked back then and sure as hell suck now. Bob Seger & Bob Dylan are two more that need to hang it up. Y'alls day in the sun was many years ago. Please stay in the shadows now.

I'm more into the Metal/Industrial side of music and some of those I'm glad to see go away like Nine Inch Nails. But that's a different topic.

I kind of like it when a band adds a bit of flair to a song live, or it's just a bit different from the studio version. I think it shows that the band is still interested in having fun with their music, it must be a pain in the ass to do the same thing every night for X weeks on tour. When there's a bit of variation I think it keeps things fresh for both the musicians and the audience.

This is different than butchering classics, of course. I haven't heard the Stones live so I'm not sure how bad it is with them.

However, as a counter, I would point out that Live After Death by Iron Maiden is one of the best live albums ever recorded. A lot of the stuff they play on there deviates from the studio versions of those songs - and manages to improve on them.

  Yuck, he's awful. And classic rock plays his cookie cutter odes to blue collar mediocrity on an endless loop. Snooze city. He really does suck and I see him as spiritual father to that mega hack Kid Rock.

    Dreadful mall ready poodle-rock: another reason the 80's were like a septic hemmorhoid. Just awful...unlistenable. That music was gayer than Soft Cell/Erasure/Bronski Beat triple bill in a bathhouse.

   Kid Rock has cornered that same audience that Seger has had for 35 years. The softball playing,weekend motorcyclist Joe Sixpack type. Hard working folks, but imagination and creativity isn't exactly a strong suit. Kid Rock is as much of an act as KISS or Marilyn Manson is. Total fraud.

with john entwistle having died, they should have just fucked off and enjoyed their retirements... or at LEAST called themselves something other than the who.  ridiculous and shameful.  oh, and daltrey and townshend were probably the least interesting members of that band musically (and otherwise, when you consider moon's history).
