Yeah, and they say that distance makes the heart grow fonder. Screw that!
oh, it's 'fonder'? I guess I always misheard it as 'ponder', makes more sense.

Entitlement mentality in all its shapes and forms.  As someone who fights and scraps for everything and never seems to get anything easy, it's unfathomable to me how many people successfully and shamelessly live with their hand out, take all they have for granted, and keep asking for more.  Disgusting.  Btw I'm of the generation commonly maligned for this attitude and let me just say we are NOT all the same it is as reprehensible to me as it is to many of you.

How the ferk did I end up doing a pile of tax returns

When I order a martini, don't ask me "Gin or vodka?"  A martini is a gin martini.  What has happened to our world that this line is now blurred?

It's 'cause you're a great American.

Waiting in line so long at an outdoor food stand, that I could count the 96 people in front of me.

Moving 10 feet in 10 minutes, and there still being 80 people in front of me made me regret waiting, so I left.

I'm annoyed by warm days that literally increase the normal food line at this place by a factor of 12.

All you need is a good mate to walk past the line with a barf bag muttering that he got food poisoning or exclaim that he found a hair in his burrito. Problem solved.

In a sane society that would work, but the creature known as Litigatious Americanus would hear that and become even more steadfast about getting inside that place.

Ah yes. Some of that culture has infected us too. I demand reparations. Anyone know a good lawyer? Art?

You're a far more patient man I. The day my military career ended, I swore I would never again wait in a damn line just to get some grub to stuff in my pie-hole.

It is being reported today that Lou Holtz will not be back at ESPN.  About fucking time.

That line I endured yesterday is something I avoid fervently, but I was stir crazy from being stuck in the house most of the week. After 10 minutes, and a certainty that I would be waiting another hour, my senses were regained and I bolted.

Red "Delicious" apples.

Red "Delicious" apples.

Red and Golden Delicious are unbelievable right off the tree.  Like most apples, they don't travel well at all.  Fuji's are probably the best apples at the store, but right off the tree they are just so-so compared to the rest.

Always do the 'mush' test - if you can make a dent in an apple with your thumb by squeezing it, don't buy it.

The fact that I will never be able to leave the house again after listening to the recent Dark City show with Bill Birnes. Fuck.

Red apples suck. It's like eating wet cardboard. I have two golden apple trees in my backyard. Since I moved here, I can't stand plain red apples.

Actually in person I'm rather nice much more annoying.

*********************WARNING***********************

If you file your taxes elecronically, through a service, like TurboTax by Intuit, you may need to use a web browser like IE, or Firefox, because the word code validation to file does not seem to work if you are using Google Chrome as your browser.

I had to log out of Chrome and log back in to IE to electronically file, after 5 or 6 attempts to enter the validation code, Turbo Tax gave me the message about Chrome.

The poor little doggie next door cries and cries when her Mommy and Daddy leave - even if for only 15-minutes.  I say "cries" because the amount of desperation and loneliness far exceeds any howl.  The Mommy even tries leaving the doggie inside, in the air conditioning with the television on for entertainment.  Maybe if she dialed up a porn channel it would help.

Forgive the self-quote, but this is from earlier in this thread:

"I spent half a lifetime being a prosecutor in both state and federal court. Nancy Grace should be one of my people. But I think she's a Nazi and one-woman lynch-mob. I hate her kind of rush-to-judgment, tell-only-one-side, put-a-finger-on-the-scales, just-win-baby prosecutor. She's mean-spirited and cruel, and I think she's responsible for at least one suicide of an innocent person, and perhaps more. I'd be willing to believe her standing-up-for-women schtick a little more if she stayed in the courtroom representing them instead of barking at the P.T. Barnum tent where she makes $5 Million a year, and from which she has amassed a net worth of $18 Million."

I'll say, when I feel like being "Barnumed", Nancy to is my go to source.
