Lip syncing was pretty standard on those type of shows back then and still today, in a lot of cases. There were bands that stood up to it and refused though. I believe The Beatles were one who would only do live performances; that is, until they stopped playing live altogether.

D'oh! After watching it again I realized it's obviously lip synched as Van is not playing the harmonica.  I'm surprised he went along with that (and even cracked a smile) given his severe stage fright.  I heard he once performed an entire show with his back to the audience.

My Mom grew up in the same town as Carl at about the same time.  His brother, Clayton, was in my Mom's class at the same school.  She would see Carl and his brothers hanging out at the local diner usually after one of his gigs.  Clayton eventually dropped out of school to join Carl and brother, Jay, in their band.

Carl has a special place in my heart and always will.  He was the real deal.  A genuinely nice man.

Wow! He really does justice to that song. I wouldn't mind hearing more from him. I do have to say it is missing Art Garfunkel's angelic voice, but yeah, nice cover. Can you recommend another song by disturbed?

Watched the movie "Chappie" and one of the stars in it is Yolandi.... Wondering if she was truly an alien life form hiding in plain sight, the web showed me she does seem to be.....uh... jury is still out... If she is an alien, it all depends on where you land, evidently.... :o
