Well, then you can stop bulldogging for her then. People are trying to point out the good Trump is already doing and you're just painting it all black...and then huffing the paint, obviously.  ::)

Somebody's got to be the Grinch.

That's on my bucket list in fact. Did you know that a disassembled, complete B-36 recently surfaced? A guy that scrapped aircraft for a living back in the day had it sitting in his yard.

when ever we have WW3 most of our reserve aircraft will come from that graveyard

That is crazy...they are extremely rare...only 5 are left...they were all scrapped here at Davis Monthan...

They didn't have the best flight safety record, as they were pushing the fringe edge of piston engine capabilities...

Back before cool things weren't allowed anymore, one of my most distinct childhood memories was my father taking me to an air show when I was a real little guy. At this air show they had a simulated battle where troops parachuted in from a C-130, followed by cargo drops, followed by A-10s doing a bombing run with the crescendo being a B-52 coming in on a low level bombing run. Watching an entire mountain range explode from this gigantic air plane screaming in at 100 feet off the ground was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

The Buff is one of the most amazing planes I've ever seen.

I have similar memories from back in the days of the F-14 and SR-71. Also remember checking out the cockpit of a national guard F-4 when I was five.

Yeah but it doesn't say it's the Trump shit talk thread though. If you want to even appear credible then maybe you should give some credit where it's due. I won't hold my breath.  ;)

That graveyard was crazy, inside the bomb bay of the B-36 is a new P-47N in its original shipping crate.

Little boy; if you are bitching on behalf of the man child Trump, who throws his rattle out of the pram with very little provocation, you need to grow a pair, and soon. Get back when they've dropped.

Yeah, I heard that they had ice and engine fire problems.

They learned a lot from them...more of the B-36 is in the B-52, than the B-47 is.

They had six of these engines. The cylinders arranged in a spiral to aid cooling. This one is at McClellan museum near Sacramento.

I like the B-52 as well. Just a venerable, wonderful aircraft. And huge. I've seen one up close. Pictures don't do it justice.

Yea, fascinating and very complicated...just didn't have the power needed for high altitude and high speed requirements for such a large air frame...then the MIG-15 came out in 1950 and that was that for the B-36...

The same engine went in later versions of the F4 Corsair. Another fine aircraft.

I'm not sure it's ever been explained to me how a flying football field was supposed to make it through Soviet Air Defenses to drop a nuke.

Strategic Air Command with James Stewart was a pretty great movie. Good ol' Americana propaganda.

It was...the Marines really liked it in WWII, even though they were made for the Navy...that long ass engine caused the front of the plane hit the deck on carrier landings...they finally learned to come in at an angle on approach, but on land there wasn't any landing issues...

Taaroa

I feel like we need a thread for aviation not just limited to warbirds and Trump.

I suppose weight of numbers and the unreliability of Soviet air defences at the time. It would take only two or three bombers to get through. The crews knew it was likely a one way trip. All cold war bomber aircrew knew that

He was in a B-36 in that movie! One of my favorites! As you say, pure propaganda, but fun.
