Typical Atlantean - thinks the whole state is Atlanta.  My part of the state has had two tropical storms and a hurricane since September 1.

Sorry, Juan. :-[  Next time, I'll be sure to emphasize North Georgia.  It's cool though.  I never thought about it before but I guess I could refer to myself as an Atlantean without being called a kook. lol.

Normally I stand for land-owners but in this case I say let the pipeline happen because it is out of towners who are the ones behind the protests. As an aside anyone who willingly is camping out in some makeshift protest in N.Dakota come winter is either insane or Soros or someone is really, really paying some serious $$. It gets frigging cold there. But there is also an odd beauty on the frozen prairie seeing for miles without any structures and the people are friendly and demographics good. But coooold. I was there once and it was -17F no before wind-chill (and it can be windy) and folks were like, shrug.

"Only about 8% of those arrested come from North Dakota, with nearly a quarter coming from the West Coast, according to arrest figures from Morton County."

They'll be gone by December 24.  It takes hardy people to withstand the elements like that and that is one thing those people aren't.  With Christmas also eminent, that should take care of the matter.

It seems to be predominantly native Indians; with others coming from all over to support them. Another story had them criticising white people for basically jumping on the bandwagon and abusing their hospitality.

Yeah, I saw something about that. Some Californian hippies/activists trying to join in "solidarity" I almost guarantee that those will be the first folks to leave when winter hits. They bitch when it rains or gets in the 50s. No way some Californian hippie is going to be able to handle a winter on the ND prairie- no matter how long their beard is! I'm a bit surprised that pipelines are still coming online considering the low prices in the market. But at least for the nearer long-term is still a good bet.

ps: NPR, our version of the BBC radio, had a funny segment on the stand-off. The interviews, though given grave, serious understanding and humming agreement by the presenter, with the Indian protestors were like an old Art Bell show. Like Red Elk or Robert Ghostwolf, etc. Lots of Indian legends (combined since many tribes, apparently, coming there) and lots of "feel good" new-agey stuff about "coming together" to stop hurting the earth. Even the white buffalo was mentioned I think.

I was in the area north of Atlanta briefly last summer, around Alpharetta.  Pretty nice, man, a lot of trees!  I think I could live there.

Yeah, we have lots and lots of trees.  Georgia pines being predominant. It is a beautiful part of the country fer sure.  Awfully humid in the summertime though.  That is the one thing that bothers me.

I bet the liberal shit bags will be frothing at the mouth deriding Trump for oppressing the business decisions of this company and how this company is now a victim.

Liberals, string em' up, and string em' high.

About F'n time we had a Prez that was looking out for the interests of American citizens and not the F'n globalists.  I'm not becoming a globalist until the shit-bag rest of the world signs on to the Bill of Rights, as a minimum.  Fuck Darth Soros and bunch.

The only news outlet giving extensive coverage to the DAPL protest has been Democracy Now.  Their own anchor, Amy Goodman, was arrested and had her day in court.  A lot of other tribes have joined in, but there are non-Indians there too.  This is one of those gray areas where I see both sides.  On one hand, this will contribute to energy independence from the Middle East, but I also take the concerns of Native Americans seriously - afaik the pipeline doesn't run directly through their treaty-protected land, but it does get pretty close and if there is an oil spill it won't be pretty.

"At no point does DAPL cross into the Tribe’s reservation, but it does come within one-half mile of its boundary." - http://www.forbes.com/sites/richardepstein/2016/09/14/why-the-doj-order-to-shut-down-construction-on-the-dapl-pipeline-is-legally-indefensible/#315bd39c1b42

The Native Americans were for the pipeline until the planners changed the route diverting it from reservation land.  The Indians were going to get $30,000,000 from it. At least that is what I heard.  Now some of them are against it since there are no benefits for them.

She seems to be a nice person, but falls for outlandish stories.
I think the value of honest elections should trump(no pun intended) loyalty to a particular party or candidate.

I would hope that none of us would prefer to win by cheating.  We all know that's wrong.  Isn't this the problem that most of us see in society today, that everyone is out for number one with little regard for anyone else?

Changing the system can only start by changing ourselves.  We are much more responsible for our personal values than those of society in general.

I don't think it's naive at all to expect that people will vie for honest elections.

I'm totally with you bro.  If the rest of the world wants to become Americans, great.   Til that time, America looks out for its own.

We've needed this for so long now...he's not even in office and cutting deals for the middle class...I'm impressed...

As far as his cabinet, that means very little. If they don't produce, he'll fire them quickly just like he did with his campaign managers...that's the way it's done in the real world...

I don't think its naive to have people aspire for such lofty ideals. But it could be seen to be where human nature is involved. Politicians like radio hosts, have big egos, and many (not all), would do anything to get elected. Elected equals power. A revolving door of quid pro quo. Trump will be no different. Clinton wouldn't have been either.

Hmmmm.  The liberals endless sea of tears would turn to endless rage if the question was even raised had Clinton won.
But their rage would be justified because everybody that voted for Trump is a 'tard racist and life member of Stormfront, right?
You know that so many Trump voters voted for him out of dislike for Clinton?  Well, a lot of Clinton voters did the same.

Yes, there's an element of radical nutjobs who screw up every liberal-themed march with violence.  I don't know where they come from.  Marchers, since the 60's, have been observing that, a day or two into their peaceful demonstration, buses pull in from out of state full of the retards who destroy things.

Nothing that I have read has ever said where these jerks hail from.  If anyone here has a clue, I'd be happy to listen.

I'm a Bernie liberal who voted for Jill Stein.  Most of the people I know probably voted for Trump.  I think they're honest people who wanted a change, which is what I want, too.  We are all sick of the Clinton/Bush family entitlement.  There are minorities in each camp who are just nuts.  That's not the majority of us, though.

I wasn't. The only person who can answer your question with any degree of directness is Stein herself.
