Yeah, but how does promising more "entitlements" solve any of that? It doesn't. I'm 40, I don't think I will get the money I put into social security all these years back when I get old, it's stupid to think that I will so I've made other plans. And now, well, my healthcare premium is going up more than $150 in January. Explain what the fuck your people have done wrong after promising so much.

Oh, so they have you suckered on the "entitlements bad" front huh? Explain to me how social security and medicare are "entitlements" when you pay into them throughout your working life. They need to fix medicare and social security so the funds will be there for the people who paid into them. What they don't need to do is have worthless scum like Paul Ryan attempt to privatize them. What has Paul Ryan done to help the middle class or the lower class in all his time in office? Absolutely nothing. What has he done to earn his high pay and Cadillac healthcare plan? Nothing but trying to obstruct Obama at every turn. And now these clowns like Ryan and McConnell are going to have to actually govern, instead of being obstructionists, and it's going to be hilarious. What in the hell do you think would have happened to people's social security if we had a privatized system in 2008 when the market crashed? You want to talk about what your side has done? What was the Republican proposal for healthcare during the 8 years Bush was in office? Nothing at all! And now they want to take healthcare away from 20 million people. Yes, there are improvements that can be made to Obamacare, but it is helping millions of people.

What do you think your premiums would be without the ACA? Do you think your premiums wouldn't have increased even more without the ACA? If so, you're delusional. Healthcare premiums were rising at a much higher rate before the ACA.

Russian meddling?   You really bought that line hook, line and sinker.
I consider that the "wrong" way of looking at it.  I do believe that Russia may have had something to do with the leaks.  But who cares?  The question for me was "is the information accurate?  If so, what does it contain?"

I have stated that I did not pay tons of attention to what was in it.  But I did pay enough attention to know that it was not praising Hillary or the DNC.

hey pb, out of curiosity, what do you think of the primary system?  I like it in theory but jeez does it drag out an election.

Oh, I don't know.  the parties are private organizations and not part of the government.  They make their own rules for deciding on a candidate.

Here are a couple changes that have been tried:

In '92 the Ds changed their rules to get a more moderate candidate, and got the corrupt Clintons instead.

This year the Rs made the 'moderate' states winner take all and the more conservative states awarded pro-rata delegates, and that gave it to Trump - not what they were hoping for when they set that up.

The Ds run the dirtiest sleaziest campaigns possible.  No lie is too low.  Starting with the 24/7/365 insistence that racism is everywhere.  They are proud of sleaze, vote fraud, October surprises, dishonest campaigning, coordinating their campaigns with the media, illegal campaign funding, and all the rest.

And cry like little bitches when anything out of their control happens.

It's time to remove as many as possible from positions of power, and ignore them.

I'm pretty good at tuning it all out.  There was zero possibility I was going to vote for Hilary or Bernie, so why get caught up in the details?  I'm not going to watch the debates, ever.  It takes me about 6 minutes to go through the state propositions, and a few more for the other elections.

Who am I going to vote for for transit, school board, garbage district?  They are all left wing robots around here, it doesn't matter - I usually write in my cat's name.  Somewhere where some candidates aren't all left wing toadies, the choice there is just as easy.

Filmmaker Paul Schrader calls for violence against Trump.

“I have spent the last five days meditating on Trump’s election. Upon consideration, I believe this is a call to violence. I felt the call to violence in the 60’s and I feel it now again. This attack on liberty and tolerance will not be solved by appeasement. Obama tried that for eight years. We should finance those who support violence resistance. We should be willing to take arms. Like Old John Brown, I am willing to battle with my children. Alt right nut jobs swagger violence. It’s time to actualize that violence, Like my Civil War Michigan predecessors I choose to stand with the black, the brown and the oppressed."

Bill Clinton was very fortunate entering the White House when he did.  The Soviet Union had just fallen.  China had not risen yet.  Al-Qaeda was a tiny band in the aftermath of the Afghan war.  Silicon Valley was underway with software, hardware, bio-tech, communications, and the economy was booming.

This was a perfect time to re-organize government - social security, medicare, the budget, the national debt, and Bill was the 'policy wonk' to do it.  Russia wanted to be friends.  He didn't do a thing.  A complete wasted opportunity.

All the two of them did was bounce from one scandal to another.  Their Secretary of State Madeline Albright was as lousy at the job as Hilary was later.

Big corrupt Bubba from Arkansas, and his Alinsky-ite wife.

When they first got into office they tried to pass a national gun-grabbing law, and Hilary tried to go to a national European-style health care scheme.  In 1994, at their first opportunity, the country rebelled and gave the House to the Republicans for the first time in 40 years.  They wanted the Clinton agenda stopped, but they liked Bill personally and gave him another term.  Sound familiar?  They didn't like Hilary.  Not one bit.

You seem to say it was Clinton's luck that he fell into the presidency during a time where China, Russia and Al-Qaeda weren't paying attention to us.  The soviet union was trying to copy our economy at that time, right? I don't know much about China but it seems we've had a good trade deal going on with them for awhile.I can't say much about Al-Qaeda, they seem a little fucked up. Something has to be said for  nothing is going on while you're president. I'm trying really hard not to bring Bush into this.

You seem to be against nationalized healthcare which I understand and I think Hillary has been going after for a long time.

You also said Hillary tried to pass a gun-grabbing law. All I have to say is guns are more prevalent now then they used to be. Florida has that law now where if you are in fear for your life you can shoot the mf'er. Texas too, I think. So I think you have more gun rights now then you used to.

http://www.infowars.com/report-three-million-votes-in-presidential-election-cast-by-illegal-aliens/

Three million votes in the U.S. presidential election were cast by illegal aliens, according to Greg Phillips of the VoteFraud.org organization.
If true, this would mean that Donald Trump still won the contest despite widespread vote fraud and almost certainly won the popular vote.
“We have verified more than three million votes cast by non-citizens,” tweeted Phillips after reporting that the group had completed an analysis of a database of 180 million voter registrations.

Says in the story that 7 million ballots still remain to be counted.  I wonder if that is true.

And Trump is probably going to make most of those illegals legal like Reagan did

I'm saying Hilary's gun and medical projects spooked the electorate at the time, and it cost a lot of Democrat House and Senate members their seats.  Mostly from the moderate states and districts, leaving the Party in the hands of the 'Progressives' from the more liberal areas who kept their seats.

Yes, Bill was very fortunate to have come into office after the Soviet Union fell, before Putin was in power, and before China's economy had really grown much in the post Mao years.  Deng's reforms were being implemented, but their economy and military were nothing like they are today.  Islamic terror was mostly limited to the PLO and a few scattered Palestinian groups.  His foreign policy wasn't great but we didn't get into any wars, other than bombing the shit out of Serbia.

Times were good - peace and prosperity.  People remember Clinton was president then and associate him with it, but it wasn't really anything he did IMO.

Wasn't that Bill Clinton who "ordered" financial institutions to give loans to anybody who was breathing so they can buy a house
and that created false feeling of how great things are because banks were so easy in giving loans
and they were not making sure that people were providing honest info about income..and it come
to a disastrous crash for many millions of people...
and I'm sure that B.Clinton was aware of that but did nothing about it ,,fucking bastard -great set up to fuck people up
by creating a financial trap..but on paper it look that he was a caring genius who open possibilities for wide masses to own a house

bullshit....

Hey all you dumbfuck old farts who voted for Trump, ya gonna like have Medicare privatized? Paul Ryan said it's on the table. So you basically have a 50/50 chance of losing Medicare as you know it. Because Trump listens to the last person who had his ear, it all depends on whether Ryan is the last person to speak to him about it and gets him to sign off on it. Ryan has been trying to gut Medicare for years.

Hey stupid fuckin' Trumptards, looks like you all got conned.

When is the wall going up? Oh, Trump now says it will be a fence.

When do the deportations start? Oh, Trump is backing down from that now.

When will Obamacare be repealed and replaced? Oh, Trump is stating that there are good things in it and they may just tweak it.

Who has Trump surrounded himself with so far? For the most part, the same Republican fucktards that tanked the country from 2000-2008.

Who is Trump floating for Secretary of State? The biggest fuckin' neo-con in the whole world, John Bolton. Trump stated to his Trumptard voters that he wanted to get out of all the dumb wars. Bolton loves dumb wars, and wants to bomb Iran.

And now Trump wants top secret security clearances for his kids!

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-team-seeks-top-secret-security-clearances-for-trump-children/

Trump is going to turn this country into a Banana Republic, and loot the hell out of it. Trump's kids are going to run his business, and have top secret security clearances? And they'll get inside info from Trump on what moves to make with his company. Yeah baby! Sounds great! No conflict of interest at all.

Gonna be fuckin' hilarious to watch King Trumptard Clown and the other clowns he surrounds himself with try to govern this country.

"Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?"

All the Trumptards are going to have major buyer's remorse. I give it about six months before they're all bitching about Trump and what a crook he is and how he isn't doing anything he promised the base.

That's what happens with the vagueries and a none democratic democracy. It isn't representitive of the will of the people. Even if Clinton had won, the idiocy of electrol colleges remain.

This is not a Democracy, it's a Republic.  A Representative Republic.  In many ways, it is the opposite of a Democracy.

The president is not elected by the popular vote, he's elected by electoral votes.

The Supreme Court and federal judges are appointed and confirmed, as are cabinet members and other officials in decision making roles.

Until 1913 the Senate was appointed by the various state legislatures, to represent the state governments in DC

Only the House was elected directly

The core of our system is separation of power.  Important decisions are to be made with a broad consensus, certain decisions are delegated to certain offices.  (one example is Congress declares war and funds the military, the president is commander in chief and manages the dept of defense)

This system has served us well - who decides is as important as what is decided, for long term stability.  We have strayed from this in certain important ways.  The Supreme Court is not supposed to be making social decisions for us, that belongs to the states.  The Presidency has come to have much more power than intended.  The states - who set up the federal government in the first place - no longer have a say in our national government.  And so on.
