I actually find both candidates repugnant.  It has become a sport to watch each side defend their champion.  When I read that we should forgive Trump because all presidents were people, and they all made mistakes it makes me smile and wonder if you are ready to offer the same logic to Hillary.  Yes, she made a mistake by having a server at home... Yes, she possibly lied to the FBI.  But we are all just human and we ought to forgive.

I don't disagree with this at all. 

What I take issue with is the idea that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are equally bad because neither is perfect is very simplistic thinking.  I don't see by any measure how Hillary Clinton is anywhere near as bad as Donald Trump.  Hillary Clinton has an unfortunate penchant for secrecy in a political environment that is increasingly transparent (leaving the technology aside, had Hillary Clinton done the types of things she did to avoid scrutiny Pre Watergate, I don't think anybody in the media or in politics would have cared) but Donald Trump is a deranged psychopath.

I never have done any of that but I've seen female servers pinched on the ass at bars like the Tilted Kilt.  What you call assault goes on everyday at these bars.  I don't condone it but it is standard behavior at some of these places especially among the more rambunctious.

Harding is mostly regarded as being an ethical person but a completely naive.  Same thing with Ronald Reagan whose administration had the most number of people who ended up in jail by a wide margin over second.  Odd you left out Richard Nixon who was by far the most unethical President in modern times. 

The difference between Bill Clinton, JFK and Nixon is that while all of them were to differing degrees unethical, they at least had the knowledge and experience to be a capable President.  Even if you don't agree that Trump is a deranged psychopath (which I think is obvious), there is not a single thing that qualifies him to be President.

Richard Nixon clearly should have gone to jail, JFK likely should have gone to jail, Bill Clinton likely illegal activities are iffy, but in an ideal world, a 'slick' person like him should never have been President.

I think there have been fundamentally decent Presidents who have, for the most part, been capable as well in modern times:  George H W Bush and Barack Obama.  Jimmy Carter may have been a successful President had he had more experience or had he not been President at a time when monetarist economic theory was greatly uncertain.

Harding had several extramarital affairs and his administration was responsible for the Teapot Dome scandal.  We are talking about moral dung heaps not ethics.  I was also pointing out that good morals and a great president don't always go hand-in-hand so I'm sort of agreeing with you there.
