"Unemployment claims have hit a 45-year low. African-American unemployment stands at the lowest rate ever recorded, and Hispanic American unemployment has also reached the lowest levels in history." â€" President Donald Trump. How did black congressional leaders respond?

This photo says so much.

Indeed, black unemployment reached a record low under President Trump. The fact that these black congressional leaders hold their hatred for Trump more precious than their celebration of success for their own community is telling.

Especially in a time when Cleveland pro-abortion billboards aimed at black areas, it beggars belief that African-Americans are so dedicated to the party against traditional values, against religious freedom, and for abortion.

This poll shows that Americans who watched the SOTU speech overwhelmingly liked what they saw. Dems should be rethinking their sour reactions tonight -- especially the ones who boycotted.

Eight in 10 Americans who watched tonight felt that the president was trying to unite the country, rather than divide it, according to CBS News poll https://t.co/OZsw2drXbJ pic.twitter.com/6fEeSPMkdW

What's the deal with the "Scared" option, btw?  Who were these 14 percenters who responded that the speech "scared" them? Did CBS ever feel the need to include that option after one of Obama's SOTU speeches?

This is why it is so important that he stops with the stupid Twitter comments.  He only hurts himself with some of those tweets. He needs to stay on message thereby applying pressure on Democrats to work with Republicans on DACA and building the fucking wall.  Frankly, I think what he is doing regarding the Dreamers is brilliant.  Sure, let's make a pathway towards citizenship for the 1.8 million dreamers then the Democrats will be between a rock and a hard place.

That's not true at all.  His message tonight was to unite the country and the result of some of his tweets is division.  Again, you don't have to be a brain surgeon to figure that out.  A lot of us who voted for Trump don't like his Twitter behavior therefore it damages him.  You want him to secure the 2020 election, broaden the base.  You broaden the base by not saying stupid shit.

And again I'm as anti-Establishment as they come, probably more than you.  MD.  I certainly want to see the power of the federal government drastically reduced.

You know full well who it is that's really sowing division. You're just falling for the MSM spin, which is always and constantly negative and divisive. I thought you were smarter than that. ::)

The fact that you seem to think some establishment dork would be doing that more, faster or better than Trump just shows how deluded you are.

There has only been one President in my lifetime to get it right.  You know very well who I think that is.  I know the Bushes and McCains were worthless.  I was as sick of business as usual in Washington as the next person was.  I'm glad we have someone different but he has his flaws.

I love it when posters acuse each other of being a Democrat as if it were the same as calling them a dumbass.

At least he has his day job.

It's not 100% one way or the other.  I don't think he should stop tweating his comments, just certain types of tweets.

No more bashing members of his own party, for example - he needs them to pass his agenda, confirm his appointments, etc.  No more divisiveness on issues that the moderates, or independents, or whatever you want to call them care about - they are the ones that decide elections.  I woudl suggest he limit the amount of criticism of the media, the Democrats, etc - not because they don't deserve it, but because too much of it lessens it's impact.

It's fine that he tweets out his thoughts at the moment, but I'm not sure he considers the impact of someone in his position saying one thing one day and something else the next, or contradicting something one of his cabinet officials just said.  He isn't Donald Trump, rich celebrity, anymore - people actually put stock in what a president says, and it's disconcerting to lose confidence that they know what they're doing.  If his plan is to keep everyone off balance and distracted, it's working.  I think he gets short term benefits from that, but long term it's a negative for him

Democrats don't care about black Americans, or anyone else for that matter.  All those issues they talk about - all just politics.

All they care about is gaining more power, until they have all of it.  ''Progressiveism'' is a bastard child of Marxism, and as we've seen demonstrated everywhere they've seized power, it's all about the Party.  That's what the modern leadership of the Democrat Party has become, and the sooner the average Dem voter figures this out, the better off we'll all be.

In other news, the proposed ambassador to South Korea has withdrawn his interest (or was he pushed?) because for some reason he objected to the oft mentioned Trump 'strategy' to attack NK preemptively. Maybe he feels that millions of innocent lives (Including Americans in SK) being vaporised is a scenario not to show bravado about?

Hmmm, even when the media point out when he's lying, and can show he's lying? Or when they report on issues that directly impact on the USA/world because of what the government has done or not done? Would you prefer a media that only reports what Trump approves of, whether it's true or not true?

You get bonus points for not trotting out 'Deep state', Democrats, NWO or Global (insert noun).

On a serious point; When the MSN print or broadcast a story that is later (sometimes a few hours) cross checked and found to be factually incorrect, the reporter/anchor is suspended, sometimes fired depending on the gravity. Call me cynical, but that for me would be incentive enough to at least make sure as far as I could that the story as reported was fundamentally correct. I briefly worked as a freelance photographer for a newspaper in Devon and accurate captioning with names, venue etc was mandatory or it wouldn't be published.

Such as the hippy and Alex Jones don't worry themselves too much with facts, context and self evaluation. And as neither is ever going to get fired, they have no incentive to care one way or another.

I don’t think you’ve listened to the hippy enough to form a fair opinion of him and you’re judging him too much by his appearance. He often takes an opposing view and criciizes Trump and Republican's.   I think you’ll find that he is ”wicked smart” objective and always has an excellent command of the subject matter.   When people here post his vids they choose the ones wherein he supports their particular views that are in opposition to those of the anti-Trump cadre and that’s all you see.

My point is the hippy and Alex Jones are not accountable for the veracity of what they say. Have you ever heard that Alex Jones has retracted a story that was wrong unless it was because he had been confronted by another reporter who took him to task about it? Sandy Hook being one.

Yeah, but he lurches into the truth enough to garner a huge following.  He is at least as accurate in his reporting as the Trump obsessed MSM and you for that matter.  When’s the last time you admitted you were wrong about something.  And the MSM does not readily admit they’ve fucked up until someone  rubs their nose in it.  How about all the late night comedians who misrepresent the facts in the name of comedy?

The MSN is 'obsessed' about Trump because he's the POTUS (and frankly he'd be seriously pissed if they ignored him) and has dismantled the decency of the office he holds. He has brought down the respect the world has for the office and in some ways the USA as a whole, to be replaced with suspicion, anxiety, and in some cases terror. He's also alienated the very allies he should be making bridges with. And how do YOU know that Alex Jones is accurate?

The none out and out Trump supporting MSN have reported on Trump (and all the candidates before he was elected in the primaries) and were instrumental in his initial popularity. Trump pre POTUS used to pose as his own PA and call newspapers and TV to feed stories about himself..He's willingly given interviews to the NYT who publish same and he then says are failing (demonstrably untrue-their figures are up).

As for admitting I'm wrong? I'm not a reporter, and if that particular requirement is wanted on a forum, I suggest it applies to all. Especially the Trump cult followers.
