Last week I heard clip after clip of this person asking questions during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing, rudely demanding ''yes'' or ''no'' answers, then cutting off the responses after just a few words.  She just wanted to give partisan speeches, and yes, cut off responses so she could later accuse those testifying of ''lying''.

Several times the witnesses asked to please be allowed to answer, which she ignored, and finally the committee chairman had to step in and tell her to do so.  And yes, they happened to be men.  That's who she was badgering, and that's who the chairman was.

This person is a rookie Senator, taking the seat of the retired horrible Senator Barbara Boxer.  She became prominent as the San Francisco District Attorney, where she was notable for being soft on crime, pro illegal immigration, and a typical left wing hack.  She was then elected as California State Attorney General when Jerry Brown left that post to become Governor.

She was basically handed the Senate seat, as other potential contenders stepped aside for her in this one party state.  She's being given the Hilary Clinton treatment - a rookie Senator with no accomplishments other than being a Party darling being given roles on prominent high profile committees, including Intelligence, Homeland Security, Budget, and Environment & Public Works.  As she is demonstrating this week and last week, she probably should have gone the traditional route and been assigned to less prominent committees while learning her way around the Senate.

Coats and Rogers both played that game last week, declining/refusing to comment/answer questioning without being able to cite legal justification for their refusals. Um, the issue wasn't that people were declining to answer, it was that ''the men'' were interrupting her.  Interrupting by asking to be allowed TO answer.  Please try to at least pretend you read at 5th grade level or higher.

And thanks for binging this up and allowing me to clarify - she is one of Willie Brown's former bimbos, which is how she got the DA position, and is now a member in high standing of the corrupt Burton-Brown San Francisco Political Machine.  If you want links to some of her more disgusting prosecution decisions as DA, please let me know and I'll try to find them for you.

I thought Hopkins was pretty damn good in that role. It is an underrated film. A little bit of embroidery here and there but that comes with Stone.

While the movie itself was political as are most of Stone's movies,  I think Hopkins took the role as a challenge and was fair in his interpretation of Nixon.  From what I've heard of Hopkins, he is fairly apolitical. Yeah he's an environmentalist but I've never heard him slam politicians or parties. He is one of the few great actors still alive.

I think if a rational, sane, and intelligent independent candidate who happened to also be good-looking were to emerge in the next few years, he/she might finally break up the 2 party system.
