Must not go on /pol/ too often.

The vast majority of "alt-right" trolls aren't even from America.  You can literally see the flag of the country in which the poster is posting from

"Oh shit.  They are writing in English, they must be posting from America!  Nevermind the flag icon, no idea what that means.  No way would people from other countries know English and post on 4chan's /pol/.  Time to write an article!"

Wow, after taking the time to read the article, holy fuck, what a square the author is to believe any of that meme shit.  It's just online LARPING for shit's and giggles.

Picture from the article:

Yeah, that looks really serious. "4chan's top autism researchers have come up with a plan....."

I can't believe people are this stupid to believe this shit.

Why not? Some folk believed Trump was going to throw Clinton in jail, build a wall between the US and Mexico, Solve healthcare issues, eradicate ISIS, declare China a currency manipulator, Deport 11 million criminals, eradicate crime, all in his first week.

He'd also not have time to play golf or leave the WH, not install his family in same, or remain involved in his companies, and also reveal his tax returns. These and many more things were believed. All of it shit.

And some cancers are curable...

Most forms of cancer are curable. Most people if the live long enough are going to develop some form of cancer that is the way it is. Most cancers happen when a cell divides and the DNA is mutated (an error). There is a pre-programmed death that should occur (apoptosis). When that fails the bodies final line of defense is for the immune system to take it out (long shot).

What the Chinese are doing is modifying the persons immune system so that it will target the specific cells and destroy them. Spend some time reading there is some pretty cool stuff going on.

Hey, we are talking about the average Mother Jones reader here.  Most of them couldn't tell you who won the U.S. Civil War, where Syria is or what the three branches of our federal government are.  They are the products of our public school system.  What's not to believe?

Why would I be smug? And as everyone else is, medics are human. We expect them to play god, and crucify them when its discovered they're not after all. Bring on the ambulance chasers who also contribute to spiralling medical costs.

In the UK, in some circumstances, they simply don't give you water, a way to cut costs. Note "fake news" sources, the NHS and major UK papers, including "The Guardian" and the BBC which is notoriously right-wing.  ;)

They also are prioritizing ('rationing') healthcare:

Having said that every system rations healthcare- it is a question on best way to do so: top-down rules and regulations, pricing, the market, insurance companies, co-pays, deductibles, based on the patient's lifestyle choices, triage, etc.

Macron Campaign Hacked, Huge Cache of Files Dumped Online

The incident is embarrassing for the campaign, which had previously denied reports that staff emails had been hacked. They were also unable to point out which documents were false.

Links to the documents were posted to the internet chat site 4Chan shortly before midnight in France, just as the Presidential election entered a mandated media blackout. Traditionally no public discussion of the election takes place on the eve of polling day, nor on the day itself, to give voters time to make their own assessment of the campaign and vote accordingly.

Oh for Pete's sake!  Is our healthcare system failing?  He'll yes, and no one can convince me otherwise.  My family has excellent insurance coverage but it isn't nearly enough.  We are out of pocket nearly $1400/month for insurance coverasge, but we still have to meet expenses for both treatments and drugs that our insurance doesn't pay for.  I have to constantly spend time calling our insurance co and service providers to get shut straightened out.  Having said that, Am I happy to have insurance?  He'll yes...we'd be destitute without it.  Healthcare is like anything else...if you can afford it, you can have it, or if you are Falkie, you can have decent healthcare too, at everyone else's expense.

Just curious, what was your situation before the ObamaCare rules went into effect?

The framers set up a "Mixed"-form of Government from Day fucking One!: being a . . .

Liberal Democratic Constitutional and Tripartite* Federal Republic (or a Mixed-Federal-Republic with a Representative-Democracy)

*Montesquieu's three branched power-head "Trias Politica" -- Legislative, Executive, Judicial.

Practically speaking, The word *Republic* meant simply *not a Kingdom* and not a (Christian) Theocracy -- those were the things (the forms) they were most primarily concerned with distinguishing and distancing themselves from.

Interesting that "Liberalism" conveniently escaped your Authoritarian pea-brain -- when of course IT was *the Womb* of the entire fucking Enterprise!

The modern day ''Liberals'' are the exact opposite of Thomas Jefferson Liberalism.  For starters, the modern day ''Liberals'' demand an ever larger government, and ever increasing government involvement and interference in our lives, while the Jeffersonian - true - Liberals believed ''that government is best which governs least''.  It's why they limited federal government authority to those items listed in the Constitution, and why they spelled out our most important rights in the Bill of Rights - rights the modern day Liberals have managed to chip away at and take from us.

In other words, you and your fellow ''Progressives'' have stolen the term, redefined it, and use it to advance your anti-Constitutional, anti-American agenda.  You pretend to support our Constitutional rights, but actually attack and erode them.

In addition to ''not a kingdom'' and ''not a theocracy'', to the Framers the word republic also specifically meant ''not a democracy''.  House members represent the people.  The Senate was originally set up to represent the various state governments in DC - to ensure the federal government would not encroach and usurp their authority and powers.  The Presidency is decided by the Electoral College, not the direct vote.

The Senate and Presidency were purposefully not meant to be decided by direct vote - democracy - for good reason.  Yet in 1917 the original ''Progressives'' managed to convince the country that directly electing Senators would be ''more democratic'' - and that would be a good thing, and the modern day ''Progressives'' are trying to convince us the direct election of the President would be ''more democratic'' - and that would be a good thing.

So don't downplay the Founders attitude towards ''democracy''.  They feared it, and understood that given the chance it would erode our small limited government.  They were right.  You seem to know much, but understand little.

All I can say is the hospitals that have treated me and especially my parents have been second to none in their care. And the care for me when I stayed with my father in his last week before he died last year. I couldn't put a price on that.

All you say is true.  What I'm trying to point out here is that as advanced as medicine is, medical errors are on the rise.  My background in systems analysis and industrial engineering is telling me that there is a breakdown somewhere due to inadequate training, flawed processes or lack of quality assurance..  Maybe some of the focus should be directed towards the more mundane aspects of medical practice.  Wouldn't it be nice if there was a breakthrough that would significantly reduce the number of patients that die due to medical mistakes.  It's not as sexy as finding a cure for cancer or fecal transplant, but it might save a lot of lives.  It has gone way beyond the point where it can be dismissed as "shit happens" wouldn't you agree?

And most medics would agree. But factor in that many negligence claims in the UK are not founded in fact, or simply vindictive. True story: A man who was a patient of my ex (a GP) had been diagnosed with lung cancer. He'd been a lifelong smoker, coughed like a train, and wasn't generally well. It then turned out after several more (free) scans and blood tests, he hadn't got cancer although he had the symptoms, but instead of thanking the hospital, the lab techs, the doctors and radiographers for putting his mind at rest, he decided instead to sue the hospital and all the doctors, including the one who gave him the good news. Aided and abetted by one of the most notorious ambulance chasing law firms in the UK.

Instead of going to court, the hospital paid off the ungrateful, hideous little shit. Money that would not go into patient care.

Medicine isn't an exact science. As I was told "Common things happen commonly". And sometimes a curved ball is thrown, and what "should" be, isn't. Take lupus. That isn't an easy diagnosis, and can appear as several other things. Take child meningitis. Horrible thing, yet so rare most doctors haven't seen a case of it, and why it hits the headlines when a case is missed. Factor in fatigue due to stupid long hours, far more than a truck driver can legally drive without a break. My cousins son has recently given up working as a doctor; he now is employed by a German firm that designs and makes artificial joints, and he goes to hospitals in the UK to show the stuff that they might buy. Far fewer hours, more time off, less stress and less likely to be sued if he makes a mistake.
