Kid, I applaud your attitude towards posting on this forum. I was never a believer in the childish technique of being the loudest, nastiest bully on a thread or having more people on my side than you do on yours to define who has the superior position.

When people leave the forum, I do not take that as sign of superiority. Some of us grow tired of the 'did not'/'did too' type of fighting that goes on here. Others denounce us as too stupid to understand their superior intellect.

Close your eyes and think back of all the 'game changing' statements made by certain members of self proclaimed superior intellect ...

Yeah, I though so- me, too. All I can remember is the name calling and their inability to maintain a civil discussion. One or two reasons could explain their leaving. Either they have reached the limit of their ability to explain their position or explaining their true position might unmask something they would rather not admit to us - or to themselves.  Once pushed to boundaries of their beliefs, just like cornered animals, fangs are bared, claws come out, and the loud growling starts. If all that fails to scare away the opposition and the first chance to scoot is available- all you will see is tail running away.

Point taken.  I'm not trying to be overly dramatic, but, I come from a background wherein facts matter even to the point where having a clear understanding of them can mean the difference between life and death.  We were trained to, as best a human can, evaluate any given situation objectively and to eliminate prejudice and emotion from the analysis.   Drills most often involved having to deal with multiple combat or casualty situations wherein one must react quickly and correctly.  In Post drill critiques or Murder Boards, one had to be able to account for one's actions in each moment of the drill and describe the rationale he applied in his decisions.  Dishonesty, excuse-making and hurt feelings are never tolerated.  I do realize that this is not typical of normal human interaction and I am capable of adjusting my standards and expectations to the environment in which I find myself; however, I also realize that when dealing with certain personalities, my background comes to the fore and I am less tolerant and diplomatic than I should be.  It's a tendency that I am aware of and try to surpress but I am not always successful.   The best that can be said for this fault of mine is that I came by it honestly .
