You like Prisons for Profit? Do you want your child to pay for elementary school?

I thought you were the "No Regulations" guys. Your people are already back to polluting waterways with coal mining waste.  On the agenda is killing the EPA. Consumers need to drink clean water and breathe clean air too

Is that seriously what you got out of my post?

You can't really believe that elementary school is free just because you don't write a check to the principal.

The EPA rule that was rescinded had not gone into effect yet. So how is that making things worse than they are today? I am all for clean air and water. If we are going to set new laws, do you in congress, not through civil servants making up shit as they try to build their fifedoms.

... you're not certain?

Well, I ask because there was nothing related to any of that in it.

I even stated there are things the government does best, although I didn't think I needed to post a complete list of what those would be.

And although the post was specifically about healthcare, and I listed some examples of necessary regulations specific to that, I would have thought it would have occurred to her that that similar regulations protecting citizens from business excesses would apply to other areas as well.

Instead she somehow came to the opposite conclusion.  This after she posted a bunch of todays headlines that are closer to opinion than they are to news.  The Democrat Fake News Media would be pleased, they've programmed her thought process completely.

:) Well, that is what they do best. Other than hide in plain sight and sing secretly encoded songs to their lovers. Wouldn't want to rattle those puritan cages, now would we?

Re the high cost of US healthcare...
. . .
When I see someone like Paul Ryan pontificating on America's healthcare problems it makes me crazy, as he's just another clueless politician who has no fucking idea what's happening on the front line of healthcare today. I'm sharing one real life example here to highlight the challenges we face. The example I used not only illustrates the high cost of chronic diseases such as alcoholism, but shows that something is seriously wrong with a govenment that is so out of touch with the physical, mental, and social health of the populace that the administration would attempt to cut the very services we so desperately need.

Bless you Lieutenant

In their efforts to "shrink government", the Trump administration has chosen to work in an insular environment, with little input from outside the WH, shunning and excluding expert opinion in the areas being legislated (such as healthcare). Or even worse, assigning people to lead departments they know little about--even loathe (such as the EPA). How exactly will this result in Making America Great Again?

Meanwhile, as the clueless/arrogant/evil (take your pick) Trump WH pushes their agenda of power through keeping people in fear from threats outside our borders, Americans are suffering from within. Evidently the insular WH also protects them from recognizing the irony of their decisions.

As more Americans fail drug tests, employers turn to refugees

Republicans confirm substance abuse and mental health coverage would no longer be mandated under Medicaid expansion

The Republican proposal to replace the Affordable Care Act would strip away what advocates say is essential coverage for drug addiction treatment as the number of people dying from opiate overdoses is skyrocketing nationwide.

Oh ffs, don't flatter yourself. Bonkers? You're just not worth it. Spending your days typing different versions of the same "Its all about me, fuck everyone else".

Without a doubt PB mostly spews fact free idealism's. Which he rapidly pulls from a little manifesto of his own creation. Speaking of rapidly pulling little things, it's clear his manifesto was conjured up from early masturbatory fantasies inspired by Ayn Rand. His stunted single note diatribes and screeds are far more palatable for forum consumption, and less bannable than spamming a manifesto umpteen times a day. PB is indeed quite full of himself now that the POTUS has a magic (R) after his name.

PBs idealism can only exist between his ears, or in a vacuum. Some here would argue there's no difference between the two. While some of these ideals may look very appealing on the surface to some people, myself included. Ultimately they only exist in a vacuum of pixels, mutating when exposed to the air of reality. Corruption, endless lust for power, and unintended consequences are but a few of the mutagens that can turn ideals malignant. Such mutagens plague all Political and Economic idealism's. Thwarting even the best laid plans of mice and men, as history can attest.

TL;DR: Paper Boy is like Ted Kaczynski with WiFi.

From the WSJ:
Quote

“[He] clings to his assertion like a drunk to an empty gin bottle, rolling out his press spokesman to make more dubious claims.”

Juan Williams from 'The Hill'.

Quote
Wow. The Journal was sharply critical of Obama but never said he had the credibility of a drunkard.

They are not yet saying “Thanks, Obama,” but their words do stir new appreciation for the good old days under the previous president.

Will right-wing talk radio follow the Journal’s example?

Imagine the reaction from far-right talk radio â€" the people who raised hell and their ratings by attacking Obama daily with accusations about fake scandals â€" if the 44thpresident had lied about his predecessor or if people in his circle had been taking money from Russia.

Imagine the outburst from Rush Limbaugh â€" the king of conservative talk radio â€" if the Justice Department told Obama that his National Security Advisor had lied about discussing sanctions with Russian government officials and Obama had waited three weeks to demand that person’s resignation.

And what would Hugh Hewitt say on radio if it was later revealed that the advisor took over $65,000 from companies linked to Vladimir Putin’s Russia, in addition to pocketing more than $500,000 from moonlighting as a lobbyist tied to the Turkish government?

What might my friend, conservative radio host Lars Larson, have said if Obama’s former campaign manager had taken $10 million from Russian oligarchs to â€" in his words â€" “greatly benefit” the interests of Putin’s Russia inside the U.S.?

Of course, the reality is Obama’s team never engaged in such damaging acts. It is Trump’s team that is under investigation for all of these charges of scandalous behavior.

Radio talk show hosts on the right have great ratings but they are not elected to defend the democratic basis of our government. That job belongs to Congress.

But House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), has become an apologist for Trump. Last week, he rushed over to the White House to say he had seen transcripts of apparently legal intercepts that may have swept up some Trump campaign officials.

Was this evidence that Obama wiretapped Trump as he was running for president? No. Even Nunes admits that. But by briefing the White House before sharing the information with his own committee, Nunes revealed himself as an advocate for the Trump White House.

Nunes, who served on the Trump transition team, compromised any claim to independence and threw away the credibility he needs.

http://thehill.com/opinion/juan-williams/325859-juan-williams-if-obama-had-acted-like-trump

And now to keep it in the family, Trump has appointed his daughter to the WH. (Even though he said he wouldn't put his family in the WH, and in fact said the press saying he would was making it up!)

So he has his son in law, favourite daughter in the close workings of government (Kushner is in charge of ALL foreign policy: anyone know his diplomacy credentials? Anyone?) Ivanka is her dad's WH spy, and will no doubt change what people ensure gets back to her dad; he doesn't like bad news or stuff that he thinks is fake. Oh, and as we could have guessed, he still holds the reins on his empire; Anyone seriously think he'd offload that to his sons tweedledee and tweedle dumber?

For those who haven't cottoned on yet, Trump still clings to the delusion he can 'run' government like one of his hotels. He's not aware and doesn't care that he's completely clueless about any aspect of government or the various departments within it. His role is simply to sign things, that's it. He heads a party that cannot nor wants to help him. They proved last week that they don't care what he says or does, because his 'threats' are meaningless. He's played his deal maker card and come up with zero. He can't make a deal with government if his life depended on it. Watching the TV to guide his thinking because he has no knowledge, even his own house members have said he's clueless.

Oh dear.

Climate change isn't fact?  I'm disappointed in you, TL. lol There's all sorts of evidence that climate change has been occurring for millions of years. Or are you talking about what they call man-made climate change?  If that is the case, I urge you to check out Joe Bastardi's daily posts on Weatherbell.com.  They are on the front page. Just scroll down to the daily update and weekend updates.  Usually it is an update on current weather patterns but he inserts evidence that support the position that I hold.   His weekend updates usually focus on climate change science.  He is no hack but has been studying this for years.

Never heard of the guy. Not being a scientist myself I prefer to rely on the 95% of climate scientists, worldwide, and their findings. Thanks anyway
