Naaa. worry not. Is zulu the 'local time' on Submarines?

Understand but it's 0200 (or so) GMT there right?

02.37.

Yeah I meant or so.  So what time do the pubs close and shouldn't you call a cab and go home?

Are you still there?  Hmm, must have gone to sleep.

It truly saddens me that a lady of your quality must be subjected to the loutish behavior displayed on this thread but those friggin Brits bring out the worst in me.

Indeed. Thank you for your kind concern. You appear to be a true gentleman who holds up well under extreme pressure. ( a little submarine humor) I just visit here to have some fun, read other people's opinions, and widen my view on current events. I don't come here to change the world, although it appears that some do. It seems to be a religion to them with their never changing litanies of complaints, criticisms, and judgements.

Don't mind me- carry on, sir.

Very well, but, if it gets too rough let your husband read the posts first and give you an expurgated version.  Please, I must insist.

Hahaha- their words have been used and misused so frequently that they have little impact. I don't know why people bother. I fail to see how profanity adds any substance to their arguments.

This seems similar to monkeys throwing their poo- to them it seems significant and even necessary, but to the spectators on the other side of the bars, flying feces and stylized penile display just doesn't win the argument.

Hahaha.

"In normal times, Judge Gorsuch â€" a widely respected and, at 49, relatively young judge with a reliably conservative voting record â€" would be an obvious choice for a Republican president.

These are not normal times."

Get ready for a new round of fake news as the Dems try to Bork him! Be sure to fall for it Pud, it'll give you a good week's worth of material.

I wish someone had given me that advice years ago, because it would have prevented all the embarrassing publicity and restraining orders it took before I finally figured it out on my own.  Cheers!

They may try but I think Gorsuch is bullet proof.  He's not a Bork.

They'll just make something up or conflate something. We're in new territory these days, in the past, yes, he would be bullet proof. Now, there are no bullets and there is no armor.

And I have trouble finding one I don't like. Different strokes.

But seriously, not even Helter Skelter?  ???

I said "hidden." Those rich, landowning classes, especially Royalty, don't like to mix about with the hoi polloi- but you poach on their lands- or worse when immigrants start BBQing the Queen's swans there will be hell to pay.

But seriously, companies have done business, and people married foreigners- and even traveled- heck your own ROYALTY is German- before the EU. You are like the crazies here. The sky is falling! The world is ending. The end is nigh! Some random Muslim can't fly in to the country on a whim with out being checked. An illegal can't waltz across the border with out papers. Oh My! Heaven forfend! It is the end of the world!

I just listened to a diatribe and interview that women in Kenya would be facing hardship because the US is going to stop paying for their abortions (technically 'family planning' since money can't go directly for abortion but if the place/group advocates or provides it might be cut off.) Why the hell should I be paying for ANYTHING for ANYBODY in Kenya? Arguably the Crown or UK should, white man's burden and history, but if I want I will give to charity to send condoms to Kenya or abort Kenyan children- but our tax money via USAID and grants? Screw that.

It is true that might be a bit more difficult but I doubt much so, remember although before the EC/EU it was more difficult there are has been a lot of technological improvement- so paperwork, contracts, logistics, tax reciprocity, customs, lines of credit, etc can be done a lot quicker than in the pre-EC or EU days where computers even were a new thing.

As if the world didn't exist without the EU, NAFTA, or wide open-borders. You can still have trade, travel, and even 'foreign relations' without them. Has been done for centuries- if not longer.

ps: Farage is working for Murdoch's American outfit, last I heard. Though maybe he can't get a VISA waiver!  ;)

The most cogent post that I've read tonight.  Thanks for bringing some levity to the conversation. :D ;)

I went through a period a few years ago where I got obsessed with learning everything I could about Syd. Regardless of his flaking out he was the inspiration for two of their biggest albums: Dark Side of the Moon and Shine On You Crazy Diamond.

Man! WTF was that?! I saw him in the late 80s and he was amazing!   ??? :(

these "shreds" videos are overdubbed, and are satire.  That is not EVH playing.  LOL

What I would like to see happen is for the Dems to try to "Bork" Gorsuch thereby setting up the following scenario:

A.  The Dems apply a full court press using all the foul tactics they usually use.

B.  They drag out  the process so that they are seen for the obstructionist they truly are.

C.  When they can't drag it out any longer they  launch a filibuster.

D.  Thank's to Harry Reid who was the first to use the nuclear option (albeit not with Supreme Court nominees) Mitchell goes nuclear invoking cloture and changing the rules so that only a simple majority is required for confirmation vice 60 votes.

E.  When Trump nominates the next replacement Justice  (or possibly the next 2) it will be smooth sailing with only a simple majority of the Senate to convince of their qualifications.

This is a no win situation for the Dems and I love it.

Dems have no chance of blocking Gorsuch.  This isn't the late 80's.  The Republicans are in charge of the Senate and can always go "nuclear" if worse comes to worse and just require a simple majority to confirm Gorsuch.  I don't think that is going to happen.  There is already one Democrat defection that will confirm Gorusch, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and more will follow.  Dems have 10 Senate seats up for re-election in 2018 in states that overwhelmingly voted for Trump.  No way are they going to jeopardize their seats any further. Gorsuch will get in with minimal opposition.

LOL! Oh man! They got me! To be fair, I just woke up awhile ago but it was well done and really seemed like he was dying on stage. The fact that people still clap in spite of that should've tipped me off.  ;D

Interesting perspective and you may well be right but the Democratic Party has been behaving flat out batshit crazy for months now and I don't know that the old rules still apply. As far as I can tell, they seem to be unintentionally bent on imploding. But I would ask you this, what's your opinion of Gorsuch?
