Hmmm.  While I still think you missed what Ian was trying to convey, I will concede that in your case he clearly missed the mark, and caused you some offense.  As a fence sitter on issues of divinity, I often find myself conflicted on these issues.  But I can honestly say, that I hope God (should He or She exist) blesses each and every Coastgabber in the coming year, even those that drive me fucking nuts.  Yep, even PB.

After listening to Ian's prediction show and Noory's prediction show I now take back all of my bad opinions of Ian I held in the past.

Ian got it right.  Maybe it was a bit vitriolic but his sermon spoke to what a lot of us here in CT are feeling.  My brother lives 1 mile away from the school and, though he has no children attending, still feels enormous pain & grief. I also have close friends there less than a mile heading toward Southbury off Glenn Road.  They moved up from the Bronx to "get away" from the danger of gun violence.  The truth is that nowhere is safe and when you even mention the idea of reevaluating our love affair with the gun there is an immediate tidal wave of idiocracy that responds with delusion and presumptuous assertions like those of Governor Huckabee or Ms. Jackson.  God still exists in schools, even in the liberal northeast, and to suppose that these little ones died due to His presence being somehow denied is sad and deserving of condemnation.

Ian is the most like Art Bell of any of the current hosts, Art also had opinions and sometimes pissed people off but was open and allowed people to speak in a warm open relationship.  George is kind of an annoying, unprepared know-it-all.

Punnett is pretty good at keeping an interview interesting, he asks good questions. Other than that, he's like that smug nerd who sat in the front of the class and always sucked up to the teacher and shit.

As someone who listened to George at his crappy tine St. Louis AM station before he was even on Coast, and as someone who listened to Art since the 90's and lived through the debacle that was Mike Seigel, I expect I have at least as much experience with Coast and talk radio as anyone posting who is not a professional radio person.

As for Ian, he is the only host I tune in for on Coast anymore, and to belittle someone else's opinion in the way you have is silly and lacks class.

Ian changed in the last few years. I used to like him. But Premier made the show suck big time. I do not enjoy him anymore. But he was nice enough and a better interviewer than George Noory. And he reads the books.

Ian was better. I was not happy in the last two years of his shows. But in the past they were better. This Huckabee thing I am not aware of. I have not tuned in on Sunday nights at the 1 time a month. 


I stopped listening for about 4 months when my hearing was giving me problems with the ringing ear. On his quitting a show, that Ringing is difficult for a person to be able to hear. I had trouble understanding words. Maybe he was going through the same thing. And when I returned 4 months later George Noory was still as boring as ever.


I admit he is a little bit of a control freak. He seems to like to spend time with fill in stuff we do not need. But he is MUCH better than SNORGE!

People who drink raw milk have never been to a farm.  These are not idyllic farms where animals are milked by hand.  These are operations where hudreds or thousands of females are milked a day, where these females come in from a muddy field where the cow has laid or walked in mud that includes their own feces, the udders are given a quick disinfecting wipe and hooked up.  Aint no way this is sterile.  The cow is machine milked through a huge system of pipes that are not sterilized to manufacture instructions as that costs money.  Drinking raw milk would be akin to drinking raw water, meaning water from puddles.  I for one will not be sticking a drinking straw in a muddy puddle on a farm anytime soon.

Their is also no health benefit, zero, nada, none.

Punnet’s guest, Kristin Canty, talks about how the FDA has been cracking down on small family farms. The show was mostly about the FDA cracking down on raw milk. I guess we have to watch the movie because the stories were told as vague sketches and I have heard better on local public radio. I didn't hear anyone mention bovine tuberculosis (historical background of pasteurization)  or e. coli as things you should consider before consuming raw milk.

In the Kurt Vonnegut story Harrison Bergeron, every time Harrison's father has an intelligent thought, a loud noise is broadcast through an earpiece to disrupt his thoughts. Ian’s tinnitus seems to be having an analogous effect. Not even a mild challenge to the guest, no insight. And when you are a naturally annoying person like Ian, you have to have some gadfly in you to make the interview interesting. 

The callers were uninteresting and as Coast to Coast slipped into Agenda 21 AM, the ear buzzer didn’t work and Ian was able to put forth a challenge.  Ian used to be the sane guy in the asylum, but he has been given the Premiere Networks equivocation shock treatment and is a shell of his former self.

Maybe all those years of acting all exasperated that anyone would complain about the wonderful George Noory, and belittling or bullying any caller that dared suggest the show had changed - for the worse - blew up in his face this week.

     Wow.  I've never been tributed.  A fine recap with just the right amount of pathos and humor.  The "...Cuckoo's Nest" analogy stunning.  That being said and meant...

     1.  What separates us from fowl is our ability to indent paragraphs.
     2.  The names of guest shall be given the bold treatment.  Don't ask me why.
     3.  Images invade the subconcious more effectively if they are centered.  From time to time you may come across an image that won't comply, at which point,  no matter how much you love it, and desire it, you must toss it aside in anger and find one that will obey.

Milk has always been one of the worst sources of calcium, but it gets promoted as the be all and end all by the food industry. Frankly there are superior plant sources of calcium/protein than milk. Almond milk is a great substitute with many more benefits. I've seen reports that 90% of the protein in milk comes from casein which promotes cancer.  Cow milk is just so unnecessary for nutrition. Raw or not.
