Are you fucking with my dope?   Next they will be wearing burlap bags tied around the waist.
Just heard a cousin in Cali has the 'Rona. No problems yet.

And, oddly, post selection, the California Gov has ended all lock-downs (except for public schools and some other places) and has been refusing to release data  because "people don't understand data" (or something) but now from a full lock-down to almost a full 'open up.'  Certainly nothing to do with the selection of Karmala/Biden or that folks have been looking into Recalling him......

Which governor had said in November that the lockdown's could continue until "after the election" as though the election somehow influenced Covid rates? Was it California?

Dodging a recall I can understand, appropriately so since I believe CA has done it before, but I don't see how locking down a state whose electoral votes were never in question helped Biden at all.

I suppose it was all of the people residing in CA but voting by mail in ballot in other states.  :P

*I also seem to recall something about Cuomo not wanting to release the numbers that he killed with his great nursing home decree (that they were forced to accept Covid positive patients) until "after the election. Did he ever release those numbers?

Optics, you braindead knob! They wanted things to get worse and be bleak under Trump and were willing to do whatever it took (by any means necessary) to make it that way. Now that the deep state coup is over they don’t have to anymore. Are you really this stupid?

The host, I forget the guy's name but he doesn't sound quite like the normal NPR chick uptalk but still a whiny voice, even brought up "how come other States didn't lock-down nearly as hard as California but now looking at the numbers they give us we are in similiar situation, and Florida has a much larger population of elderly and nursing homes?" The flabbergasted guest mentioned that "issues are complex" "data is still being sorted" "California is a large state with a diverse demographic" and host let him off the hook. But I was surprised he at least asked the obvious questions: why now. And why are hospitalizations and deaths not much different (according to numbers given apparently) in places that were full lock-down and places that weren't.

But the lock-downs, besides to punish political enemies and hurt small/mid size businesses, were also for photo-ops and 'spin' nationally. Even if the big urban centers in LA were never going to vote for a non-Democrat everyone around the country, even world, saw the dystopian empty streets, packs of feral homeless, wild animals even (remember that spin,) protests by junkies, and the deadly threats due to the Trump administration. Remember Hollywood, America, look at it under Trump empty? Rodeo Drive, look as hordes of desperate, exploited minorities loot under Trump. And so on.....the wildfires (Trump) they still are burning in some places but not much coverage.

In a stunning development, new Covid cases here in NC have dropped at a marvelous rate since Inauguration Day. At this rate it will be essentially extinct here by the Ides of March. Some think Biden is pitiful figure - racked with dementia, unable to pick up a pen to sign bills that he has no idea of what they even are, some think Biden as a meh choice but better than the boogie man. Here in NC we call Joe the Delaware Destroyer - Vanquisher of Covid.

They have changed the testing protocols to reduce the number of cycles in PCR testing down to 27.  That will majorly reduce the number of “positive” tests.  As Jackstar is wont to say, “ Look, look.  Read, read”.

Yes it was to terrorize the rest of the country, indirectly.  Since I don't watch movies, their dearth was perhaps not as harrowing for me as it was for others.  But those images of tv reporters gesticulating wildly at sunny empty strands sent me into an emotional tailspin and I determined to Dump Trump right away.

I wonder if we get clamming this year; probably not.

So, I looked it up. And the short answer is "no." The long answer is that the Greater New York Hospital Association "donated" 2.3 million to Cuomo's campaign in 2018 and suddenly the little weasel introduced immunity for the nursing homes, administrators and executives. I would say that was money well spent... New York is now one of just two states to shield those corporate officials from both civil lawsuits and some forms of criminal prosecution by the government.

From the ultra conservative far right website, the Jacobin:  ;)

“People Are 7.5 Times More Likely To Die From COVID-19 In States With Corporate Legal Immunity”

And possibly the only observation that made me smile in an article that raised my blood pressure a few points. “The Industry Gets Caught With Its Pants Down . . . We’re Now Telling Them They Don’t Have to Wear Pants”

Anyhow, if your blood pressure does not put you at risk if it spikes a few points, here is the link https://jacobinmag.com/2020/05/andrew-cuomo-immunity-nursing-home-lobbyists-coronavirus-covid

Well, two people close to me died with / from covid in the last few months.

Stellar

Sorry to hear that!
Did they give you two identical DNA photos or signatures from the virus?  I mean is there a true positive identification on the cellular level from which we can see it.

Didn't look into it at all. They are both dead. It was respiratory. That was about all that I really got out of the experience.

I have no doubt that it exists. As do the other Corona viruses, and the seasonal flu, and a host of other shitty things that kill people year in and year out.

O K Dubb. Can you do me a favour? I would like you to use your local connections to get mayor Ted charged with assault under his new "get tough on crime" stance.

If you can pull this off, I promise to come to your coronation inauguration.

Looks like someone needs a hug. Would you mind taking a shower first? I'm willing to do whatever it takes to finish a job--Magyar policy and lifestyle mandate--but while there are no presently discernible limits to my present power levels, there are some sacrifices that even I am not willing to make for Love. Maybe if you put yourself up on a cross? Look, seriously, I think a simple shower would be enough--and the colder, the better.

What are you, addicted to crucifixion? Jesus. Yeah, definitely calls for more hugs. I guess I better go blow that southern border wide open. I can't think of anything else to do, my arms are brain is too tired. (Actually I'm just that lazy, and also a liar. Sue me.)

I’m good, thanks.

I used to give the breeding sows a shot of Ivermectin.  It was an antiparasitic, after giving the shots, a few days later and you'd see worms in the gutter behind the sow that shat them out.

Interesting to hear about its potential COVID-19 apps.
