What happened to those desk/chair combos? I'll bet Alaska could even buy them on the cheap if made in China. Or some leftovers from those awful old orphanages and Indian schools. Inkwells can be repurposed for alcohol gel!

I don't think backpacks, 'giant' parkas, boots, lunch, and school materials would fit in a 5 gallon bucket, even if the children are pre-K in size. And that a pre-K would be able to wield such a heavy bucket effectively. And muddy/wet boots and parkas would make a bad scene on the lunch and school work when crammed in a bucket- not to mention cramming wet clothes in a bucket would lend itself to bacteria, mold, even viral etc spread.

I think the idea is that each kid be confined as much as possible to his own bacterial stew.  They just need to order one of those human-sized hamster balls for every pupil.

Right, and the chief demand is that the mayor resign.  Or, barring that, be made to feel very uncomfortable in whatever secure community he lives in, walled off from the squalor, protected by police who are just imported chuds with badges.  To antifa, the chief fascist is the (Democratic) mayor.  Antifa is in no way aligned with the elites or the establishment or whatever you want to call it.
There always have been conflicts within, and sources of funding sometimes obscured. I'm sure the 'true believers' think they are fighting 'the system,' assuming whatever drugs or mental issues are not totally in control, even when they are actually controlled, and paid. Lumpenproleteriat, useful idiots, vanguard, rural vs urban, intellectual vs workers, etc terms which are used in Leftist thought and leadership, sometimes with derision even. There also has always been conflict between the 'eventualism' (I will call it) or the 'pro-active" and then so many schools of thought about such: immediacy, subtlety, two steps forwards one step back, gradualism, framing, national vs international,  who are the proper classes to support, and so on. I actually enjoy the debates. The problem is too often they put the stuff into practice, not debate, and the discussion between large or big (Menssch vs Bol) end  with a hatchet in the head or a guillotine or gulags or such, and it almost always fails and leads to mass death. Pro-actively or by bad economic policies. And don't think that there some 'some' who like disorder or can profit from it, true believers aside. Or use it for a crackdown and more control.

So you’re saying they’re just being used by them then?

Used to what end?  If the mayors of Seattle and Portland could wave their arms and make antifa disappear, they would in a heartbeat.  The only thing stopping them is public sympathy which concedes that antifa has a point.  In a monolithic Democratic city, antifa is the only real opposition party and the PNW has a long history of embracing dissent and condoning unruly behavior so those in power don't get too comfortable.

The lumpenproletariat would be the looters who come in the first day and pillage sneakers.  Strict targeting, always Starbucks, Amazon, ICE facilities, and the mayor's house, is pretty good ideological discipline for a drug-fueled rabble, half of whom live in their cars or couch surf.  If it ever broke down and people's favorite groceries and restaurants got sacked, public support would evaporate almost immediately.

Exactly! No more sophistry and endless debates- but action! Some fogged DDT and Benzene-Alcohol areosolized mixture will kill whatever bugs and let these kids back to school!

Is that all it is? Really?  Shit. Albrecht and I can send you some Democratic machine Boss Hogg types to oppose the hand wringing, dirty dish rag, Pols you have out there. No more blue hairs dancing on the Freeway, no more shitting in the street, the Elk statue can stand in peace but you get all of the corruption, kickbacks and graft that you know and love.

Used in the sense that they let them riot and told police to stand down because orange man bad. Now that he’s gone they don’t give a fuck about them. Used that way.

You guys want so desperately to see everything through the lens of Tump even though he is gone and the protesting continues.  They are, and always have been, about local big-city politics.  Like I said, Tump has you all dickmatized.  You need to take those orange-colored glasses off.

Indeed we could. A wedding just before lockdown had a off-duty deputy working security. As he was mainly around the open bar I had to approach and took the direct option. Shots and a beer and told him, 'sorry you are on duty now but there might be some left over after the ceremonies.'  I suspiciously volunteered/commandeered the booze operations because it was dry county so BYOB venue. Then gained common grown when bitching about BLMs and a new 'community' being built on what was former ranch land. He agreed about Californians but said "he can make more money from those people- they are more afraid and sissy but pay" and said he can work 'gates' more $ than he makes on the actual job. And 'less danger than a traffic stop.'

Because, unlike previous years with WTO, earlier BLMs, climate stuff, nuclear freeze, whales, etc., these are continuing well into the winter much to my surprise and everyone else's, public support is fatigued because it is a nuisance, there is no resolution until the mayor steps down which she is unwilling to do, and the mayor can finally do what she has wanted to the whole time.  Remember, the mayor is the primary target, secondarily the big local corps that prop her up.  Tump is irrelevant.

...Why is kneeling more safe than sitting, or standing?..

I think the kneeling has more to do with the cultural custom of our new Asiatic masters (mistresses?  what is the gender appropriate term for the old Whitey slave-"master" thing?) than it does as a safety issue.

I suppose, it could be considered a safety thing;  cultural obedience probably lends a degree of protection from being an involuntary organ-donor...

But it wasn’t a nuisance when Trump was president and still wouldn’t be if he was rightly elected. You guys were used like the stupid commie dupes you are. ;D

Hey we were the stars of Tump's reelection campaign!  I just got my check from Save America PAC but it bounced -- figures.

If you want to push this conspiracy, that the rioting was tolerated to make Tump look bad, you guys have to explain why the MSM mostly ignored the protests while Fox and Tump churned out hours of coverage on a few hundred people rampaging in far-away cities.  I usually like Tucky but when he went balls deep on Chaz trying to make it sound like a stubborn homeless encampment was the end of America as we know it, I just rolled my eyes.  And everyone else here, too.

Easy. The MSM wanted it to appear as protests rather than riots.

Any uptick in gang /organized crime as of late? I'd imagine the combination of a weak mayor, a crazy city council, useless D.A.'s and a demoralized police force would make it prime turf for expansion.

Yes, there is a neat racket now where, if you want some expensive luxury item, you put in an order -- color, size, everything -- with a downtown drug dealer who pays some homeless guy to lift it for you for 10% of its value, cash to the dealer, drugs to the junkie.

Pretty standard off-the-truck kind of a stuff. Who organizes the dealers? Any turf wars starting yet?

Oh horseshit, the protests were supposed to end like covid with Tump's loss and now you are scrambling to explain why they are continuing, desperate to keep Tump relevant.  Time to say bye bye.

Trump TV, where Trump never lost!  They can set up a fake Oval Office studio where Tump can sign EOs all day long and show them off like he is still pres.  Trump is what happens when a heckler actually gets on stage.  He needs to go back to his roots.
