She had a guest -- an actual, serious, well-researched guest, and cute, too -- who wrote a book called Queer Magic who endeavored a wide-reaching discussion about a link between religious practices and homosexuality.

It was actually pretty good -- I didn't know anybody else thought about that stuff -- but she turned squeamish on some surprising points and wanted to talk instead about how she had lots of gay friends and gay people are fun and a girl's best friend (like her producer!) and look! they're everywhere and history is full of rainbows and glitter, which the guest was happy to accommodate.

I appreciate the effort but, as a media-generated image, it's impossible to live up to for those of us with sharp tongues and elbows.  Maybe she has just been lucky in her friendships.  God bless.
