I have seen the video of the shooting.  The shooter did NOT have a "select -fire" auto rifle!  The shooter opened fire with a 12 gauge, semi-auto shotgun as he approached the front entrance.  He then used an AR15 to murder his targets with semi-auto fire from less than 30 feet and returned at least three times to shoot them again as they lay wounded and dying on the floor.  Changing magazines at least 4 times.

He then shot at people near the site, as he was leaving, wounding or killing at least 3 people (including a woman on the ground he had previously shot and wounded, at point blank range).  He then drove in his vehicle at high speed to another site where he opened fire on pedestrians (through his own vehicles windshield) with a shotgun, shooting at least 3 before the video ends.

Yes!  I think once I get over the initial "learning curve" I will be able to have 2-3 "layers" and eating fresh eggs every day or two!  There are no roosters making noise around here!  As for harvesting meat I will have to learn about that later.  My goal is to get these "Tractor Chicks" to adulthood and keep them healthy and happy.

You will need a rooster to get the females going in the egg laying business will you not? After that you won't need the rooster anymore and it will be better to turn it into fried chicken since it would make a lot of noise before sunrise...LOL.

Right now I don't know if I have a rooster. And I thought the same about having "layers".  The neighbors have plenty of eggs with 6 hens - no rooster in sight or making noise!  YOU DO NOT NEED A ROOSTER !!
