What is your solution to the inner-city problems you experienced?

Simple answer - I don't have a fucking clue! I just finally gave up and decided to save my own skin and got the hell out! Best decision of my life. Worst was to become a teacher.

There are so many problems and it goes all the way from many of the individual students, the system, the politicians, and society as a whole.

For the record, Trump has proposed a few solutions. Based on my experiences, he's well intentioned but none of his solutions will work. I sure hope I'm wrong but they are things that sound good but do very little, or nothing at all to improve the broken system.

In the meantime, Clinton will continue the current disaster.

Btw, remember when Bill and Hill made a big deal with all those photo-ops of them donating books to a lot of different schools? This was while Bill was president. Well, I can tell you from being on the inside, those books were never delivered. Yeah, that's the Clinton Crime Family way. Take the money and run.

Listen fool, you don't have a fucking clue about what all I know, which of the hundreds and hundreds of books I've read, and where I stand on those issues. Ironically, we probably fall on the same side. But you prefer to jump to conclusions and assume that everyone is against you. Well, maybe it's your attitude and behavior that turns others against you. Not a difference in beliefs.

When you see any given class for about 50 minutes every other week, at best, all you often have time to do is babysit. I was very lucky when I actually got to teach in my subject area, and I did it well. Don't even get me started about all the stupid bullshit they dumped on us to do or we'd get written up. You try it. I 'know' you'd never survive.

Oh, I would love to see you in action in such a classroom while also be completely dependent on a very small paycheck. Lots of big talk from your type. Besides, you haven't a clue what I did do on my own that I was able to sneak under the wire, like slipping some basic phonics and other ultra basic skills that I could have been written up for. You'd be shocked at what was going on, or not, inside. Yeah, I could have been written up for such ridiculous infractions as teaching these kids that they need to use an upper case letter at the beginning of a sentence. Seriously! I didn't care, I did it anyway. Fuck their screwed up system! Trust me, you would have walked out the first week or gotten your ass fired. I had to support myself and other jobs just weren't coming along. Finally I got sick to death of so much bullshit and trying to fight the system and realized that I could not do it alone. After banging my head against their brick wall, I woke up and realized that all I got was a bad headache and not one dent was put into the wall. You try that, Mr. All Talk, No Action.

One summer I took a class based on his system. For the final, we were to write a paper on how to teach difficult students, etc.. My paper addressed many of the things that could be done but I also included why it was just about impossible to do any of those things because the system made it virtually impossible. Backed it up with details. There were about 3 teachers, for some odd reason, who taught this class. They were so upset and realized what a fucked up system this was and admitted to me that there was nothing else that I could do. Not only did they give me an A+ for the course but also a complimentary copy of their book.

Go ahead, try to do it yourself. You're welcome to teach about Kennedy if you want. Just don't let the admins find out. I'll sit there with a stop watch timing how long you survive.

Yeah I had much the same exact experience in a related field. Eventually, for me I just got to an age where nothing made sense anymore. Like you I left the machine in the big city. My entire life 180ed.

I don't have any solutions either. I talk about this a lot with my family which has both militant right wingers and militant left wingers in it. I don't even know anymore.

It is amazing. Thing is it happens all the time. Not sure if based on breeding patterns or what but look at our history or history in African countries. Every so often a certain segment of the population goes nuts. And the "trigger" can almost be random but, often, intended by some group. With modern tech I think it will get worse as they can use those networks to escalate local situations. And someone is profiting somehow, whether it is like in some African cases Chinese machete manufacturers or here for votes or increased militarization of the police or insurance fraud.
