I have analysed the voynich text for years.  My new theory is that he forged the manuscript and the Marci letter to give himself fame and a possible small fortune.  Take a look a these letter and glyph comparisons and tell me what you think.

Interesting Stellar.  But who do you think did the pictures, and were they drawn from real botanical elements, or flights of fancy?

There are many pictures that date to a later time than from 1404-1438 radio carbon dated.  The Armadillo is of the New World.  No one at the time would have any idea what the Andromeda Galaxy looked like and the microscope also post dates the timeline.

Intriguing .. Were any of the plants later identified from far-flung lands?  I seem to remember some were matched with botanical records.

Here is a good source:

QuoteBy 1914 Voynich had opened his shop in New York, right across from the New York Public Library. It was during this time that he worked tirelessly to promote his Roger Bacon Cipher Manuscript, showing it, lecturing on it, and passing around photostats to various experts in botany, cryptography, herbals, and so on.

Thank you, I shall read when I have more time.  The Voynich has been an item of interest for me as well.
