Perhaps he might consider a new career as a replacement for "The Marlboro Man" !

He always had that "Morley Safer's Smokers Voice"

Every time I see a current picture of Art Bell lying in that Hospital Bed I think of the Amazon's Art Bell Page photo of him standing in a black turtleneck with a burning cigarette in his right hand ( http://www.amazon.com/Art-Bell/e/B001KHCJHE/ref=sr_tc_2_0...)- Way to go Jerk !

Ahh the Inhalation Pleasures of Cat Dander and Cigarette Smoking, -Way to go Art

Does he still think smoking or vaping were good ideas?

His Hospital Bed Photo- A great picture of "The Joys of Smoking" !

Having lost too many friends to the ravages of smoking, I have NO SYMPATHY for those that succumb to their own foolish denial.
Most recently, someone I knew for 38 years (Met in Nov 1977), wouldn't give it up and died at age 68 from Cancer, as did her older sister several years ago. Their mother-not a smoker -is in her late 90's !
Being Allergic to Cigarettes, (Causing eyes tearing, throat burning and sinus headaches that lasted for days afterwards) I always had to keep a distance from her and anyone else with tobacco stench.

It always lingers, in hair, breath, rugs, drapes, home ventilation ducts, auto interriors-rugs-upholstery-ac ducts.

They all think chewing gum or mints makes a difference- the stench emanates from their tar/nicotine laced lungs, Via their Breath, not their mouths !

anunnaki

Only on Her Death Bed, could I get close enough to kiss her goodbye without that previously-ever-present-stench !

The stench behind smoker's breath
January 5, 2013 at 4:28am

SUMMARY: Smoker's breath is a real thing, and a real bad thing at that!

We all know that smoking is bad for us, but for some reason there are still billions of people that continue to have this bad habit! From all-around health issues to less serious conditions like bad breath, smoking is harsh to your body. It's no coincidence that there is term called smokers breath, because the chemicals in cigarettes linger in the mouth and lungs for hours - yes, hours! While kicking the habit in general is the best solution, here are a few other ways to get rid of bad smokers breath.

Tobacco products wreck havoc on your mouth! Smoking for an extended period of time can lead to gum disease because the chemicals cause the gums to become unattached to the teeth. Smoking interferes with the normal functions of the gum tissue cells, which would hinder healing of any wounds in the mouth.

Halitosis is caused in many ways from smoking! First, it causes your mouth to dry out, which immediately leads to bad breath. Saliva acts as a natural rinse in your mouth, and if there is no saliva to wash down the cigarette smell, guess where it stays? Try to drink a glass of water after each cigarette to wash down the scent.

Lung breath

As you're breathing in smoke, it goes into the lungs -  this is the biggest culprit of smoker's breath. No matter how many times you brush your teeth or use mouthwash, you're not cleaning your lungs. The smell gets trapped and when you exhale - out comes the bad breath! People who spend years of their life smoking will have quite a difficult time getting rid of bad breath from smoking because those years of tobacco products have created a tar build up in the lungs. Doesn't that just make your chest hurt thinking about it?

Cigars and bad breath

You think cigarettes cause halitosis? Cigars are even worse! Smoking a full-flavored cigar after dinner or during the evening is common for many people, but this smell lingers for a long time even after you've put your stogie out. To immediately cure bad breath from cigars, you may want to invest in some mouthwash suited for cigars. These products can help eliminate the aftertaste, as well as the amount of tar that is left on your teeth. Choosing an alcohol free mouthwash will help clean out the mouth of stinky cigar smell without being too harsh on the gums and teeth.

Do you ever feel like you still have cigar breath in the morning? That's actually fairly common for cigar smokers, especially if you don't eat anything between the cigar and bedtime. You may want to consider sipping on some strong, plain tea with your cigar to reduce the potent aftertaste. This also cleanses your palate. Planning time to smoke your cigar earlier in the day, like before a meal will also help you wake up with fresher breath.

Let's face it, our mouths are the gateway of our health and smoking does leave some undesirable aftermath. If you're a long-time smoker, you may want to invest in a teeth whitening product that is sensitive to the enamel, but works hard to get rid of yellow stains. Having yellow teeth from smoking will make you look much older than you are, and who wants that? To temporarily get rid of smoker's breath, it's important to make sure that you are brushing your teeth, using mouthwash and flossing regularly. This will keep the mouth clean so there's no added bacteria in the mouth creating stinky breath in addition to the smell that comes out of the lungs.

Yeah but smoking makes you look cool.

True. During an anatomy lecture I attended in college the professor brought in buckets containing internal organs for demonstration. One of the buckets contained the lungs of a heavy smoker. It was stadium seating in a large lecture hall and I was sitting in one of the last seats at the top. When the professor held up the lungs for view I could immediately smell it. Smelled like an ashtray. I couldn't believe how strong the stench was from so far away.

Unfortunately, that was the "programming" loaded into human bots, courtesy of Hollywood, Big Tobacco, and their willing cohorts.  Of course, modern human bots are not susceptible to similar programming.

My mother has been a heavy smoker her whole life.  It pisses me off to no end that she hasn't even attempted to quit.  I have asthma and her smoking nearly killed me in my youth.  Our house reeked of smoke.  I kept some clothing outside in a shed so that they wouldn't smell of smoke.  Mom claimed to use a special laundry detergent which rid all fabrics of the putrid stench.  Right...it did mute it somewhat and gave your clothing a weird earthy smell.  For part of my childhood, I was called "grave digger."  The day I turned 18, I was gone.  I had a lawn care business and had socked enough money away to put deposit money down and to rent a decent apartment.    To this day, she reverts back to a scan she had in 1979 which showed her lungs were remarkably clear despite her filthy habit.  Recently, she was Dx with COPD.  Smoking has killed her, she just hasn't dropped yet.  On a lighter note, she recently went over her will with me and she said she wished to be cremated!  LOL!

Are you this dumb and ignorant by choice, or does it come naturally to you?  Because anyone who has listened to Art throughout the years would know that he regularly tried kicking the habit and expressed regret for smoking many many times throughout his career. I remember in detail hearing Art talk about his struggles with quitting, nicotine gum, patches, vaping, etc.

And yet you post this stupid ignorant shit as if Art was proud of having a smoking habit??  Each and every one of us have our own vices, habits, and internal struggles... it's pretty ignorant to post this type of thing as if Art is out running ADs on how great and wonderful cigarettes are.

That's medical now.

If "more" equates to incredibly large quantities of zero, then you are indeed correct.

That's why we use a vaporizer and get ZERO tar or if you fancy it you can eat it as well. ( provided it is prepared properly. )

Typical Liberal response-"If you don't like the message, make personal attacks against the Messenger". (You're probably a smoker)
Your defense of Art's "attempts to quit" is Lame. With his money, he could have checked himself into a Rehab for a few weeks or longer- and don't say he had a show to do, because he had 2 years off the air.

You should really educate yourself more on the subject because you are pulling up non relevant material to try and make an argument.

Vaporizing marijuana has nothing to do with vaporizing-cigz / e-cigz. Not even in the same ball park. 2 totally different things.

So you Vape without -refill liquids?  Refill liquids were found to contain Diacetyl, "a flavoring chemical linked to cases of severe respiratory disease" such as the incurable condition called "Popcorn Lung."

I'm talking about vaporizing marijuana. Are you going to just act the fool and argue something else with me or can you handle being on the same page?

Vaping marijuana is not Vaping ELiquid - which among other things is a LIQUID hence the term Liquid used in it's name.

It contains propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin (sometimes a combination of both), nicotine and flavoring. Some come without nicotine.

I'm not arguing as to the unknowns about E liquids. I'm saying vaping e liquid is not the same as vaping dried herbal material.

Then i guess vaping weed is cool with you because it is not smoke. I'm glad we settled this.

And i don't think that anybody would disagree on the fact that smoking is not a good thing nor a smart thing to do. With that being said once you start it is not an easy habit to kick.

And to further your education ; nicotine in itself is not what causes cancer it is the other 8000 chemical additives combined with the byproducts of combustion.
