Someone needs to ask Art what he thought of streams like Fine Art. I've tried to get through to no avail.

i agree entirely.  every m-thu, 9pm-12am, it's like 1996 again.  art's lost nothing.  nothing at all.

I think this Art is definitely better than 2006-2010 Art. Last night's show especially felt like something from 1997.

Why was it that Fine Art got shut down?  Was it Premier or was it Sirius that asked them to stop it?

Clear Channel, who owns Premiere, shut us down.

Anyone see this? Fine Art mentioned on Time magazine's site.  http://entertainment.time.com/2013/09/16/art-bell-radios-most-popular-weirdo-returns/

This is awesome! I'm still working through the ol' Fine Art library and should have something for everyone soon as well.

As of this post it's still working.

Currently playing - June 19 1997 - Phoenix Lights

yeah, this playlist is going to finish. it should be done in the next day or two, then it's curtains. obama wants to make streaming a felony.  http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-switch/wp/2013/08/05/sopa-died-in-2012-but-obama-administration-wants-to-revive-part-of-it/

The 10 people listening to the stream aren't going to help or hurt Art.  The point is, we've got new Art on the way and the old Art will still be around in one form or another.

I don't think Art's old shows will stop people from checking out his new stuff. The classics are classics and I'll always revisit them, but I'm not going to miss out on some new shows! I'm excited to hear his opinion on current events etc.

The shows will all be available soon, time permitting. Just not streamed. I don't need another love letter from queer channel.

I used to run some stupid Art Bell stream and have a pretty nice little collection I'll be releasing into the wild hopefully in the next week or so.

With Art returning, I think the noble thing to do is take the stream back down. It's time to get Sirius.

25 days straight of pre-9/11 shows coming at you!

Praise the Lord!  Or make that Praise Linden! Thank you does not suffice.
I'm listening to the glorious Art Bell once again, and I owe it all to you.

How great thou Art!

I recommend downloading the shoutcast app. Just search 'coastgab' and it'll be there. TuneIn requires channels to sign up specifically with their app (which we did for Fine Art) and is therefore a pile of crap that should be boycotted and burned in the street.

Some shows that were on last week may be repeating until the end of the day. I had to restart the server and haven't been able to update the playlist.

Bear with me for a few days. Reorganizing the library and id3 tags.

should have something cool to share this week.

by the way, linden... it came to my attention that you were plugging coastgab on the fine art stream.  thanks a lot for that.  i'm sure it sent us a lot of new users.  it's really a shame to see that end.
No problemo. This site is the reason the stream had listeners for quite some time. Working on a little care package for ya'll.

Hey linden instead of writing The End on fineartstream.com you should have put up the following quote from Art:

"The wind no longer blows, in the End it was Without Direction. Long live the Hot Air. 30" --- Art Bell, October 2010 (the day radio died).

I'll tell you what blows. U7. That guy's still playing the same 5 shows with Michael's original promos from the old coastgab stream.

Linden... since u can't stream art any longer, you should consider filling the void by streaming rusty humphries.

Only kidding (if it wasn't obvious).

I had never heard of him until now. The guy's worth streaming for his name alone.

Sad. Like losing Art all over again. Thanks for the effort, Linden.
it's been a pleasure serving up steaming plates of Art for the last year and a half.

The stream is no more. We've been asked to take it off the air or face legal action.

So last night around 11 EST I heard a show that wasn't labeled very well and I was wondering if there was more info on it so I can track it down.  It was "Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell - 04 Open Lines".  It was kind of a G2G show, but had a couple good calls.  For all I know I have this already, but it wasn't labeled well enough when it played on the stream.  If anyone has any info please let me know - thanks!
Not sure. We tag the shows as well as possible, but sometimes the web player we use broadcasts those tags in a weird/incomplete way.

I actually prefer the Open Lines circa 96 to 99.

It was that magical time when anything could happen and anything goes. Sure there were loons and a lot of bs but it was very entertaining and Art was the master moderator and enabler.
Absolutley. it was amazing how he handled some of those callers.
