I always get a laugh when someone tells me that we will have clean, unlimited energy for free once fusion technology is realized.

Won't be free, but it'll be cheap.

Sure. For now.

by the way, in your rush to obtuseness, do you recall that I specifically referred to "the shale oil" industry? I'm kinda okay with all those pump wells all over Texas and California, they're nostalgic.

you said fossil fuels, the single greatest contributor to the economic prosperity we now enjoy, are a disaster.  that's a pretty dumb statement.  however, i'm not shocked you'd call me "obtuse" since your man tits invariably start to quiver whenever anyone disagrees with you.

snark away, though, sizzle chest.

No it won't.

Yes it will, just like oil is dirt cheap right now. Cheap energy isn't unusual. Won't be free, however.

"Right now" you say?  In other words, fusion energy will be more or less just like the energy sources we have now.  Not free, sometimes very expensive.  Which was my point.  Thanks for clearing that up.

Supply and demand, but as a utility it will already be regulated unlike oil. It'll be in line with or below current prices for electricity. After about 30-40 years it will be free, as will everything else, because of technological unemployment.

Then we don't disagree.  I'll go put away my scattergun, then.

type in "Bush crime family" into a search engine and see what pops up. Roger Stone's book should be out soon.

you said fossil fuels, the single greatest contributor to the economic prosperity we now enjoy, are a disaster.

You clearly have imagined that I "said" that, because what I posted was meant to convey my fervent belief that the fixation and obsession that has allowed humanity to become overwhelmingly dependent on fossil fuels, is the disaster. There's no particular reason why advancement in other fuel and energy sources has been retarded for over a hundred years, except dynasties.

Further, since you've brought it up, I would go with "sanitation" being the single greatest contributor to our "prosperity"--which, let me remind you, includes Flint, Michigan. Oh, it's so prosperous everywhere.

Quotethat's a pretty dumb statement.

It's true, I get sloppy.

QuoteProceeding down the road, the duo encounter the Tin Woodman. Once healthy and productive, the Woodman was cursed by the wicked Witch of the East, lost his dexterity, and accidentally hacked off his limbs. Each lost appendage was replaced with tin until the Woodman was made entirely of metal. In essence, the Witch of the East (big business) reduced the Woodman to a machine, a dehumanized worker who no longer feels, who has no heart. As such, the Tin Man represents the nation's workers, in particular the industrial workers with whom the Populists hoped to make common cause. His rusted condition parallels the prostrated condition of labor during the depression of 1890s; like many workers of that period, the Tin Man is unemployed. Yet, with a few drops of oil, he is able to resume his customary labors-a remedy akin to the "pump-priming" measures that Populists advocated.

Does anyone still think we are burning up old dinosaurs, lichens, ferns, and such?
I buried a cat 40 years ago, just dug him up to see if he had turned to oil, alas, just bones so far, maybe in a few million years, I'll try again. Maybe the Bush family uses some majick to turn critters to oil? I don't know, next time I talk to Poppy, I'll ask him. The last time I spoke to him, he just lowered his nicititating membranes, and flicked his forked tongue.

THAT'S HIM! Take it down please. I think there is still a bolo for me.

He is currently running at 8% in SC, ahead of Carson & Kasich, but final results aren't complete. I figured he would wait until Super Tuesday. His donors probably want to shift their money to Rubio, the next establishment pick.

I wonder if Carson will drop out. He is only at about 7%.

I thought he would stick around a bit longer despite the numbers hoping for something: with his money/connections, some kind of delegate manipulations, or implosion/scandal to take out some of the other folks. Oh well, glad he is out.

Jackstar

I guess those are reasonable reasons to be surprised. For my part, I'm surprised he lasted this long. The Bush name is mud.

perhaps "surprised" isn't the right word, because nobody could be "surprised" by jeb's demise having watched the campaign since june/july.  this hindsight is why i think perhaps "reminded" is the more appropriate word.

when we stack tonight's events up against the talking head fantasy narrative of 9 months ago (jeb's supposed inevitability), we're reminded of how revolutionary all of this is, and a fresh sense of shock sets in.  if one could travel back 9 months to inform everyone that trump is going to roundly supplant jeb bush in NH and SC, likely moving on to win the nomination, nobody would believe it.

it really is, particularly among republicans.  evidence:  south carolina.  i keep saying it again and again:  the current state of republican dissatisfaction/frustration can be traced straight back to GWB, not obama.  none of the republican commentators want to articulate this fact, though.  it's more comfortable for them to "blame" obama for the rise of trump.

Hey MV - have you read about Cruz's father? Scary stuff. Would be interested in knowing what you think about him.
