Hello strange people

Welcome back, Barfly! How was Amsterdam? They have decent bars there, I hear lol.

Heather interviewing Lucifer was the best bit of radio since Noory's interview with Dracula!

I thought so too!  Best thing since the real JC IMO.

I don't really listen but I hope Heather becomes insanely successful so one day she can say Fuck You to all the bands that treat their roadies like subhuman shit

He was a roadie for Metallica, Speed of Sound tour, bunch of assholes.

Metallica?  Assholes?  Too fucking kind.  Even on a fake tour, they'd still be real anal leakage.

Robert Trujillo wasn't an asshole when I dealt with him...  He was a hustler prior to the Metallica gig, doing Yellow Pages commercials, running a rehearsal studio (that's where I met him, he came to me to equip the rooms).  I'm sure it's gone to his head.

Sounds like a crybaby to me.  I guess Metallica forced him to work with them.

She was a roadie but I can't remember what she said, if anything, about Metallica. I know she said U2 had a douchey rule that roadies had to avert their eyes when the band was around or else they would be fired. Some people are total asswagons.

So was she kidnapped & forced to work for them?

Dude.

If you are stupid, inarticulate or shit yourself when you hear the words "you're on," please just STFU on open lines nights and crawl back into your mother's basement or group home, whichever.  Heather hasn't quite learned how to get rid of you yet and your ramblings are so annoying that 10 minutes last Friday was all I could stand.

Brig, maybe you and I could start up a business. We both have Skype. We could be personal trainers for potential talk show callers... What do you think?

So its okay to treat people who work around you like shit because they aren't forced to?

Start by teaching them English and helping them acquire a GED (or whatever it's called now).  The next lesson could be one on how to use their fucking phones.

I believe the real reason Art quit was that so many of the callers were as dumb as and had the personality of a bag of dicks.

Complaining about it on Bellgab is probably as easy as quitting.

Sean92008

Many things here...  Art kept answering calls on his international Skype line.  I've made the point on many occasions that he should have been appeasing his domestic audience since the advertisers were based in the US of A.  All that to say:  Stupid callers were mostly Art's choice.

Complaining on BellGag must be harder than quitting.  One must step it up to keep momentum going forward on BellGab.

Now...  Listening to a (I believe) a May 19, 1996 show where AB had a caller who couldn't say "chupacabra" correctly.  Art corrected him but, ultimately, let the caller go on.  Heather doesn't seem to know what to do with callers...

AB was frequently curt with callers, he'd talk politics, he'd be disagreeable but the crap didn't get in the way of the show. Our memories need to stay intact.

If only Heather could get her inner cupachabra out.

I'll support BallGag with ad clicks, MitD is another story...

Skype was also the source of much confusion and frustration for the Bell-Meister

Yeah, like an autistic mad scientist, he'd overfocus on improving the sound quality of perfectly intelligible calls.  Doh! That's not just a trait of an autistic person, it's a trait of heavy pot smokers too.

Well the guy did radio shows for decades talking to people for hours over land lines and broadcasting on AM but now he's an audiophile? Yeah that adds up.
