I checked with a friend who produces a very successful podcast. After talking with him, I think she's under the mistaken notion that if the radio network has an ASCAP and BMI license (or more likely Soundexchange) to stream the music, she probably thinks that allows her to include it in podcast. Or, as mentioned above, she is lying about it and scamming the subscribers.

Considering her web designer is speaking about the license, I'm guessing they're all pretty confused over there.

I'll be listening to the first show.  Won't be calling in- but I don't think that I will be able to avoid it.  It would be like having two trains collide in your back yard and making an attempt not to look out the back window.

Also, I am partly curious what her version of the events are.  I kept hearing that "all will be revealed" when she goes back on air.  I have to admit, I'm curious what possible reason she has concocted in her own mind that makes it Keith's fault she had to change networks when she didn't return to her job, and didn't call.

You know those juvenile, but hilarious, phone pranks like calling a Chinese restaurant giving a partial order and "say wait a moment," calling up another Chinese restaurant and saying "wait a minute," then asking the first place to "read back your order" and connecting the new Chinese restaurant phones lines on conference and listen to the chaos and confusion ensues as the two people try to figure out who is ordering from whom and what the heck is going on? What if someone connected the read Midnight In the Desert to the fake "Heater" version of MITD (if she ever broadcasts) during open lines one night?

Carl replied to a question on her Facebook about how they're able to use bumper music by saying "a license has been purchased."

I've been searching and cannot for the life of me find this magical license that would clear the hit songs she wants to play. Seems like they'd have to contact each publishing company independently. I'm very curious.

Well, I asked because I was curious as to whether an actual commercial radio station would let any of those, er, "talents" anywhere near a microphone. 

Anyway, thank you for the confirmation.  I suspected Heather's dramatic claim that she would be "broadcasting" to 190 countries was bogus, but wasn't certain.  Can't say I am surprised to learn that her "broadcasting" empire exists solely in her imagination (along with a great many other things, apparently).

I think, like RCH, she confuses an IP showing from some distant country with, somehow, listeners or "broadcasting to" those countries. Listeners, maybe, though they could be bouncing IPs all over the world, bots, etc but shouldn't for she be considered "having stations" or something...

Here are mine:

First off, she's not very bright.  Walking around insisting Art ''gave'' her this or that doesn't mean it's so just because he's not around to contradict her.  No matter how much of a performance she put on, sobbing over losing her best friend, blah blah blah.  If he did own it, then Airyn owns it now, not her.  And apparently Keith owns it anyway. 

Art did say no had no financial interest in the show or network, if that's true (and I don't take his word on anything) he can't have given it to her. 


As far as she being Art's legacy or whatever the claim is:  when did Art ever say that?  All I heard from him is that he thought there should be more female voices on the air, and he thought she was doing well.  Not ''I'm passing my legacy on to her, she's the next me''.  Never heard that from him.  Only from her.  It's BS, and shame on these backwoods hick hosts for enabling her.

It's a very nasty side of that business, as the article claims. Also, they pay commissions to people for turning in businesses for "non-compliance". Creepy.

I was researching as I wanted to play two local Tucson stations (low watt) that do not have commercials...only music 24 hours a day..old classic rock and deep cuts. I love them, and they are very popular in the localized area where you can receive their signals. They would be perfect to play in a bar/restaurant.

I was looking for such an option but we don't have any OTA stations around here without a ridiculous number of ads. Still wouldn't be surprised if they found a way to squeeze some $ out of us even if we did. There must be a restaurant association that could clarify (if the restaurant is member)

I remember back in the 1980's when I worked for a restaurant that used basically an 8 track player and tapes. They would pay a monthly fee (rather steep), and would periodically send the tapes in to exchange for new ones. Man, did you get sick of hearing those songs over and over.

Sometimes, depending upon the area, you can have digital HD FM stations that play fewer commercials than the standard analogue signals. We have a few here...and they do have significantly less commercials than the standard stations on the FM dial.

Pretty sure the only people obsessing about the bumper music are the same people whose prime was reached fifty years back into the last century. They probably also do not realize that there are a plethora of paranormal podcasts now and they ALL represent Art's legacy in that he started it. Other than that it's time for new blood and new music. Not a wax museum of Art Bell complete with bad voice simulation.  Heather will have the boomer brigade. The rest of us have other choices.

To some people, yes. I've seen multiple posts saying they may listen to Heater for the bumper music. It's clear these types of listeners don't care about quality content - they care about hearing 15 seconds of Dancing Queen.

Her Nye county records are public records that anybody can see.  When Sean posted those, it was totally in bounds and part of the discussion in my view.  HW lied and faked the entire "move" in 2018.  She was there all along (since late 2015, or early 2016).  This is provable, it is fact.  It further destroys her credibility.  What part of that don't you understand?
