No.  Just seems like he could be a more interesting entertainer if he were doing stuff he were really interested in, rather than C2C.  He could & probably should try harder, but if he hasn't by now it doesn't seem he cares enough to improve C2C.  I think someone there also needs better imagination for subject matter instead of trying to do Art Bell's show forever.

Just listen to much of DMDN's schedule.  They largely feed off Mr. Bell's old audience, yet make it fresh & interesting.  Maybe it's too much to ask for to sustain that in the overnight slot, but you'd think a lineup of b'cast stns. like that of C2C could afford something as good as amateur podcasts.

Noory meanwhile could do like Steve Allen, say, or Don Francisco, or Joe Franklin.

I have long totally agreed with this sentiment.  George is clearly passionate about nostalgia TV and music.  His most engaged hosting is on these subjects.  I guess he also seems to like the new age topics.  The grocery store tabloid astrology types stuff.  He has also taken an interest in certain conspiracy subjects that Art wouldn't touch with a 10-foot vaporizer pen.  I think he should ditch any attempt to do any kind of show that Art did and just do what he enjoys.  He already has an audience that is following along.  I'm sure a lot of them pass away regularly because they are in care homes but there are still plenty to be sure.

Coast to Coast was popular because of Art Bell.  It wasn't a show formula, the topics, or anything else really.  It was just that Art had that special spark that all radio personalities wish they had which makes the listener feel comfy and attached to the host.

George's and anyone's super success in radio will depend on them being themselves and letting the audience of people that likes who they are build.  Trying to make it about a particular topic or subject is futile.

With George & C2C I think what to me really kills the vibe of what Art did was the screened calls.  unscreened open lines changes everything.  Screened calls are just awful.  It's hokey and it puts
a huge wall between the listeners and the host and guests.
