Redacted had a disembodied voice in her house just the other day. How convenient.

It would be weird if she just had thin walls and the neighbors are what she is hearing.

Yes, it's an unknown treasure of the Midwest. I love going there. Great museum on the site too.

I went down to Crystal River in Florida a few years back to dive with the Manatees. While I was there I found out about some mounds down there (that weren't in bikinis). It was a small park, but worth the trip.

Yeah, I went through it while the taxi driver slept in the car hahaha.  Interesting to think those Mississippian civilizations may have been inspired by Mexico -- no rocks, so they built pyramids of dirt.

I seem to remember De Soto encountered the last remnants of them, so there are some written accounts.

Went and saw Coral Castle while I was down there too. If you have never been there, it is an interesting place.

I haven't been there, but I'm aware of it. The Florida mounds freak me out. I did extensive research into the Hernando de Soto expedition of 1539 plus several earlier attempts at landing in Florida exploring the North American interior. The historical accounts of the mound building Indians in Florida are astonishing. Next time you're in St. Louis, visit Cahokia. They took mound building to its extreme.

What did you think of it. Could you see how 1 guy could build it by himself?

Thanks SciFi. BTW, I'm not talking to you tonight. Blues beat my Blackhawks in the shootout.

Can you recommend any books that cover the De Soto accounts?  I don't think I can handle the originals.

Hawks couldn't stay out of the box in the 3rd. Glad Toews didn't break in half falling into the door. Can't wait for Hossa to get back, he was skating this morning.

That's how I felt about the cliff dwellings around Flagstaff. Amazing
