I always wanted to swim in the lagoon, but of course, that wasn't allowed. They did let Johnny Weismiller swim, tho

Tarzan ?

QuoteThe Keys were hiking in a region of the park called Cades Cove, approximately six miles from Spence Field. They'd gone to this area hoping to see a bear, but what they actually saw was significantly more unusual. Harold Key, the father, reports hearing a bloodcurdling scream. His son then saw movement behind a bush. Key at the time believed it to be a bear, but later said it was in fact a man, apparently carrying something slung over his shoulder.

I heard Paulides on one show with host Joe Montaldo and DP got very angry and upset with the questions asked and broke off the interview.  Hope all stays calm tonight.

RIP to my sort-of neighbor Martin Milner (he's a few miles away, but...), Judy Carne and Our Gang's Judy Darling.

Happy Birthday to my rock goddess, Chrissie Hynde.

RIP anniversary for Keith Moon...

Trying to call in and ask if he contacted the OIG or his congressman for FOIA request help.

'Cause we sat through three hours of so-called acting last night, and the kiss was the only convincing moment in it.

Definitely a God.

I seem to remember Art doing a show on feral humans in the late 90s.

Spread the word about his books and his appearances and his kickstarter/gofundme/whatever he's using campaign.

That's different from asking people to write to their Congressmen to get them to force the NPS to either answer some questions and do something more to keep these missing persons cases from happening.

He talks about the ludicrous amounts he was being quoted by the Parks Service for release of information, up to $1.4m for all the cases he was asking for. And the agent who told him he would never have the details of a specific case and, when Paulides said he had information on other cases, accused him of lying.

Did you know you can run a diesel car off hemp oil with no conversion or modification and the hemp oil will be more efficient and poses no environmental dangers?  :o :o :o

Damn great.  Since the USA used the wrong bio fuel source (corn instead of sugar cane), our food, agriculture and fuel costs have spiraled out of control.  If hemp can reverse 25% of that, the USA will see a massive cost of living benefit.  People need to learn that hemp ain't a threat.

ha ha ha ha ha

I'm suggesting Rick Steves as a Hoagland guest with the caveat that Hoags asks nothing but wacky Mars questions.

You know Juan, anyone can ask their congressman about this.  Paulides has even said in interviews he's all for people writing their congressman about the lack of missing persons lists in the parks and the insanely high costs they charge for FOI requests.  What's your point?

He's also pushed VERY HARD for people to petition their National Parks about this.  So?

By your thinking, anyone reporting a murder is exploiting the family of the victim.  How does that work?

Paulides is just getting the information out there.  The public can do or not do whatever they want with that information.  Paulides can't do it all himself.

You're just wrong, bud.  Plain and simple.  You were wrong about the FBI not having jurisdiction in the National Parks also.

Have you even read any of his books?  I'd bet my left testicle you haven't.

HEY REDACTED--

You ought to consider having an expert on the FOIA on with Art.  I've heard dozens of guests on paranormal shows claim they've been ignored or wronged when they've submitted their FOIA requests, but when I hear what/how they requested I knew immediately they'd not followed the rules.  Conversely, the young guy who runs the "Black Vault" site has FOIA requested and received hundreds of thousands of pages of documents.  He always talks about how important it is to file correctly and understand the law.

There are lawyers who specialize in FOIA, a quick internet search should locate them.  Further, every federal agency has a FOIA office where at least one staffer is accredited to give training to all employees required to be certified in FOIA processes.  They have a canned briefing that can be given to the public, there is nothing classified or official use only about the brief.  If people learned how the system works and why the overwhelming requests of FOIA requests are denied, the "they don't want you to know" stuff sounds silly.

That's what I said.  Juan stated, and I quote "I believe the Park Service is under the Dept. of the Interior."  Juan was wrong.

This is a wonderful show and good guest. Not sure if the guest is really imparting a whole lot of information but the topic is so creepy and unique that it's captured my imagination tonight.

Yeah, the creepiness factor is working for me.

I wonder if any of those kids were asked years later about what happened? Maybe their memory came back a bit.

Thanks, my concern would be in calling in would be that he recognized my voice from the Knapp show a few months ago.
