Did you see Pawn Sacrifice? I'm shitty at chess myself but, for some reason, I always want to see any movie made about it. I guess I just admire the sustained concentration. However, this movie shows how trying to keep it altogether really does drive them mad.  ;)
I did see it. What I didn't like is that it made no mention of the fact that he live with Dick  and his son Jeramie Schaap (sp) . Jeramie who works for ESPN did a cool show when he flew to Iceland and confronted Bobbie on his anti semitic stuff.

I feel this is Teslas Bobby Fisher moment. He thought he was hearing communication from aliens. Bobby started to have delusional thoughts. I believe it is part of being that smart and I think Tesla's brain had trouble finding a more simple solution to what he was hearing
A definite possibility.

There was a scene in the movie The Big Short where the Christian Bale character (the guy who legally made a half a billion dollars off the 2008 crash when almost everyone else lost) is discussing his plans to go big on this short with a partner in his company and the guy asks him if he's being sarcastic and his response is, "Come on! I wouldn't even know how to be that. You know that." That's the kind of thing I'm talking about. They either don't know how to or even care about social orders. They're usually to project focused like that and everything else is secondary.

EMP gun page has been bookmarked
It's pretty cool, but it's not the one I was looking for. The really neat one uses two different sizes of PVC pipe set up in a Tesla Coil configuration. In the secondary coil pipe, there are 9 aluminum wave-guide disks with the centers cut out in a star pattern of differing numbers of points, ie some are 5 pointed, some 7, etc, etc etc.  I need to find that again.

its probably a good thing that Tesla wasn't in it for the money. Allot of true geniuses die broke. Especially music genius's

he did die broke, and apparently hungry too because he looked to be about 100 pounds in his final days. he didn't even see the generating station in niagara get complete. buffalo ny was the first city ever to be lit up on his A/C grid design, powered by the falls. there are now numerous generating stations on the niagara river. when the big blackout in the northeast happened in 2003, much of ontario, new york state, ohio, and parts of quebec were without power for 24-72 hours depending on location.. the city of niagara falls was glowing bright like a leg lamp during the whole blackout because it was plugged in directly to the source. anyways, that was hell to live through but it was just a day or two. there was no gasoline for weeks after the power came back on, 9 out of 10 gas stations were closed for nearly a month after the power came back on, it took that long to resupply them all. the week of the blackout, some lineups at gas stations were 4 to 8 hours, less if you filled up in the middle of the night.

ya its different over there. I went a year without city electricity and kind of liked it. I had a gas generator but barely used it. I lived like little house on the prairie for a while and kinda miss it

Same here - for 8 months. I had a 1200 gallon water buffalo, and the wood stove. Fired up the genny to do laundry and fill the water tank.

I've never tried bald eagle before but I'll wager turkey is tastier  ;)

Also, bald eagles are fucking mean spirited little creatures. They often hatch 2 or 3 eggs but only one of the babies ever survives because the stronger ones will try to peck to death the weaker ones while the parents watch on. Back to hell with you, vile creatures!   >:(

P.S. I'm probably just a little sensitive to this because I had an older sister that was just like that, unfortunately.  :o
