I made the mistake in my younger years of going after some local media people who were not only wrong but completely corrupt. One of my oldest associates would repeatedly tell me not to fuck with the scam but I was headstrong and idealistic who actually believed courage and talent mattered. I exposed them and made them look completely stupid but a year (to the day) they did everything they could to destroy my life and obfuscate what really happened. Once I realize it's about exploitation, corruption and capitalization in every aspect of life and nothing to do with good intention, talent, intelligence or any of that... well I now live in my dream house on the ocean and I have no worries.  That was tough but it taught me that whatever is happening on the surface or whatever the marks are buying doesn't matter. It's about the scam underneath.

Accept that everyone is corrupt and a liar and you'll come out ahead more often than not.

That's depressing, here's some rainbows and kittens.

I've come to the same conclusion, but too late in life for it to matter.
