After I accomplished that goal for myself, I had no need to continue it further, and with no individual personality willing to support the notion that that was a worthwhile activity... why, I just repurposed that energy.

You should try that sometime, if you can ever manage to get some free time into your area of attention. Have you ever considered not reading things that are boring? Well, I don't care if you have or not--I am on strike and cannot explain that part to you.
